After three hours of calculations, I finally determined the location of the treasure.
It turned out that the treasure left behind by Kozlov was hidden within Helan Mountain.
The next morning, we drove to Helan Mountain.
After two days of enduring the elements, we finally arrived at our destination.
Before us lay a range of mountains, rolling and shrouded in mist.
At the foot of the mountain was a dense expanse of vegetation.
This area was extremely remote, situated in a corner of Helan Mountain, so it had hardly been visited by anyone.
According to the map, the Cultural Relics were hidden inside a natural cave halfway up the mountain.
We spent half a day searching on the mountain and finally discovered an entrance to a cave covered by foliage at mid-slope.
After clearing away the vegetation around the entrance with a sickle, we finally saw the true cave.
Uncertain about any dangers inside, we first lowered a rabbit into the cave using a rope.
We waited for twenty minutes before pulling it back out.
Seeing that the rabbit showed no signs of distress, we felt reassured and stepped into the cave.
The cave was not large, measuring about thirty to forty square meters.
Inside, there were rows of large boxes stacked up.
These boxes were tightly wrapped in oilcloth, seemingly to protect the Cultural Relics inside.
What was contained within those boxes left me astounded!
Inside, there were books, scrolls, ceramics, iron tools, textiles, sculptures, paintings, and more...
Although those items may not be considered rare treasures, they hold immense significance for the study of the Western Xia Dynasty and its surrounding history.
Just the boxes of books and scrolls alone would drive countless historians wild!
Not to mention the many precious cultural relics!
Brother Ma rubbed his hands excitedly and exclaimed, "Haha, this time we've really struck it rich!"
sister Yang laughed along, "Yes, at last, we didn’t come here for nothing!"
Ni Liping frowned slightly, "Are you really planning to sell these things?"
Brother Ma replied coldly, "Of course we're selling them!"
Ni Liping sighed, "Well then, it's your decision. I have no right to interfere."
With that, she began to wander around the cave.
It was then that I noticed there were actually a dozen or so skeletons inside the cave.
Some of the skeletons were in a shattered state, while others had rusted bullet fragments embedded in them.
It seemed these individuals had experienced a fierce battle in their lifetimes.
For some reason, seeing these skeletons gave me an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
I just couldn’t recall where I had seen something like this before.
sister Yang, Brother Ma, Ni Liping, and Gangzi all looked at the skeletons with blank expressions.
It was as if they had known these things were here all along.
A sudden shock ran through my mind!
It seemed that these four individuals were not just ordinary adventurers after all.
They were searching around the cave, as if looking for something important.
At that moment, I noticed that at the very back of the cave, there were actually a dozen neatly arranged large boxes.
The boxes were sealed with tape, as if they had not been touched for a long time.
Ni Liping curiously asked, "What’s inside these boxes?"
Brother Ma shook his head. "I’m not sure."
Ni Liping pressed on, "Then why are they sealed?"
Brother Ma replied coldly, "It's the rule."
Ni Liping pouted. "That's really strange."
With that, she turned and walked away.
A slight tremor ran through me!
It seemed she still didn't realize that these people were Tomb Raiders!
