"Say a few less words; it's making my head hurt." 0

This was the first thing Chu Yixuan said after waking up, instantly silencing the director's roar. 0

Tang Wan was pulled out from the wall by Bao Zhu, but before she could steady herself, she was startled by Chu Yixuan's cold gaze. She rolled her eyes but didn’t faint. 0

"Do you know martial arts?" he asked in a low voice, and all the bodyguards turned to look at her in unison. 0

Tang Wan trembled slightly as she replied, "N-no... I don't." 0

"Then how did you manage to..." 0

The words "knock me out" were too embarrassing for Chu Yixuan to say. 0

"I've always loved eating melons since I was little, but my room is too far from the kitchen. I was too lazy to get a knife, so I just used my hands to chop them. Over time, I just..." She chuckled awkwardly, a hint of embarrassment on her face. 0

So she thought of him as a melon to chop. 0

Chu Yixuan's expression darkened, and the bodyguards quickly looked up at the ceiling, trying hard to suppress their laughter. The Old Butler’s expression also became complicated. 0

"Young Master Chu, I'm sorry. All your medical expenses will be covered by this hospital. Please take your time to recover here and return home once you're healed," the director said promptly. He was worried that this brainless little nurse would provoke Young Master Chu again, and the consequences would be unimaginable. 0

"I see patients every day in the hospital; how can I recover well? I want to go home to recuperate." At this point, Chu Yixuan's eyes shifted back to Tang Wan. 0

The director immediately understood and said, "We will definitely handle this nurse seriously; I will have her dismissed." 0

Tang Wan silently pleaded for things to remain unchanged, but Chu Yixuan spoke up at the same time, "No need, just send this nurse from your hospital to take care of me at home." 0

"Ah, this..." The director was both surprised and confused. 0

Tang Wan let out a sorrowful sigh. "Director, you might as well just fire me." 0

Chu Yixuan bit his lip, struggling to suppress a laugh. He didn't rush to join in on the gossip; instead, he leisurely reclined in his rocking chair, his bandaged leg propped up on a nearby low table, enjoying the vibrant greenery and blooming flowers in the courtyard like a true gentleman. 0

"Is your hand hurting?" Chu Yixuan glanced sideways at her palm, which she was secretly rubbing. 0

After chopping vegetables for nearly a week, how could it not hurt? Tang Wan couldn't help but feel aggrieved. "Young Master Chu, I only slapped you once; you don't have to torture me like this. It would be more straightforward if you just slapped me back." With that, she lowered her head and stretched her neck out. 0

"That wouldn't be as much fun," Chu Yixuan replied with a mischievous smile. Tang Wan retracted her neck, wanting to glare at him, but remembering how he had helped the director rescue that Revolutionary Party member from the police station made her temper subside. 0

Chu Yixuan's leg injury wasn't serious and would heal soon enough. She just needed to endure until her day came; it was better to hold on. 0

"Young Master, the soup is ready," one of the servants reported from not far away. 0

Tang Wan took a deep breath and reluctantly stood up to fetch it from the kitchen. In the Chu family, she was no longer just a nurse; she had practically become Chu Yixuan's personal maid. 0

As she carefully carried the bowl of soup back, she noticed another person by Chu Yixuan's side. 0

The woman wore a fitted Water Pink Qipao that accentuated her curvy figure. Her long black hair was styled in the latest fashion from the Shanghai Bund, adorned with an exquisite hairpin that made her features even more enchanting. 0

"Brother Xuan," she said with a voice as melodious as a nightingale, "you've injured yourself after just a few days in Nanjing. How careless can you be?" 0

The woman was far more stunning than the stars in the "Liang You" magazine, leaving Tang Wan momentarily stunned a few steps away. 0

Chu Yixuan noticed her and said with displeasure, "What are you standing there for? Bring the soup over." 0

"Oh." She walked up to him, clearly feeling the hostile gaze from that woman. 0

"Brother Xuan, who is she?" Liu Ruyi's smile appeared somewhat stiff. 0

"I am..." The word "nurse" hadn't even left her lips when Chu Yixuan shot her a glare. "Who asked you to speak? Hurry up and cool the soup before feeding it to me." 0

"That's too much." Tang Wan muttered to herself but dared not defy him. 0

Liu Ruyi ignored Tang Wan and smiled at Chu Yixuan. "I have a performance at the Grand Theater tomorrow night, Brother Xuan. It's your favorite segment. You haven't seen my show in a long time, have you? You must come. I won't disturb your rest any longer; I'll take my leave." 0

She glanced at Tang Wan again, her gaze lingering on her face, causing her to frown slightly. Then a knowing smile spread across her face, sending a chill down Tang Wan's spine. 0

As she watched the graceful figure exit the courtyard, Tang Wan remained in a daze. 0

Chu Yixuan seemed to sense her confusion and explained, "She is the daughter of my wet nurse and a well-known Hua Dan in Shanghai. No one can sing the Matchmaker role better than her. Do you enjoy the story of Cui Yingying and Zhang Sheng? We can go together tomorrow." 0

"I don't like watching Peach Blossom Fan." 0

"This is The West Chamber." 0

Tang Wan, who was always restless, couldn't sit still any longer. After spending an afternoon watching plays with him, she couldn't help but yawn widely and stretch her body. 0

Chu Yixuan glanced at her and suddenly asked, “What do you think about Zhang Sheng and Cui Yingying's love?” 0

“It’s pretty good. Lovers eventually become a couple,” she replied. 0

“But Cui Yingying is about to marry Zheng Heng, and Zhang Sheng suddenly comes back to take her away. Isn’t that harming Zheng Heng?” 0

“How can that be considered harm? It’s actually saving him,” Tang Wan said, raising her voice slightly. Chu Yixuan was intrigued by her answer and curiously asked, “Why is it saving him? Zheng Heng's family background is a hundred times better than Zhang Sheng's. Cui Yingying wouldn’t suffer if she followed him.” 0

“Cui Yingying doesn’t love Zheng Heng. Even if he gives her mountains of gold, it would be in vain; true love cannot be bought with money. If Zheng Heng marries a woman who doesn’t love him, that would be pitiful. He would suffer for a lifetime. Zhang Sheng marrying Cui Yingying is also saving Zheng Heng; at least it gives him a chance to choose someone he truly meets,” Tang Wan said while munching on the candied fruits on the table. 0

A hint of surprise appeared on Chu Yixuan's face as he looked at her with deep eyes. When Tang Wan noticed he was staring at her as she finished the plate of candied fruits, a chill ran down her back, and she nervously asked, “Why… why are you looking at me?” 0

“Do you really like eating candied fruits?” 0

“Yeah, they’re quite tasty.” 0

“Alright, after the show, I’ll buy you a big bag,” Chu Yixuan smiled. However, Tang Wan felt uncertain and weakly asked, “W-why?” 0

“To reward you.” He continued to smile. Having grown accustomed to his cold demeanor, his sudden bright smile made Tang Wan’s heart race and her face feel slightly warm. 0
