For the next few hours, we stood at the entrance of the Dungeon like two tech enthusiasts, passionately discussing various designs for mechanisms, rune combinations, and energy frequencies while completely forgetting that other players were coming and going around us.
I noticed that Yi Jian Han not only had an in-depth understanding of the Mo Family Mechanism Technique but also possessed an astonishing ability to execute it. The rune modification proposals he suggested were precise and efficient, even capable of simulating the energy fluctuations from Shen Demon's mental shock for testing purposes.
His focused and serious demeanor was a stark contrast to his usual image as a carefree swordsman on the battlefield, yet equally... captivating.
Before we knew it, the afternoon had slipped away. We tried several schemes and finally settled on a design for a "Static Domain Generator," improved from the Zhenhun Tower.
"Let's try this plan," he said.
"Alright!" I nodded and began crafting. This was no small challenge for me, requiring a significant amount of energy and rare materials.
As I skillfully manipulated various tools and materials, he suddenly asked, "Do you really enjoy this?"
"Huh?" I paused for a moment before realizing he was referring to Mechanics. "Yes, I find it fascinating. Using intelligence and skill to create intricate mechanisms that can change the tide of battle or even alter the world—it's pretty cool, isn't it?"
He fell silent for a few seconds, his tone seeming to soften a bit. "It really is cool."
My cheeks flushed slightly as I lowered my head, hastening my movements to cover my embarrassment.
Finally, before night fell, I successfully crafted three Static Domain Generators.
"Let's go test them out," he said.
We teamed up and entered the Mirage City Dungeon.
Without the noise of our team, it felt somewhat... quiet with just the two of us.
We exchanged no words as we swiftly cleared out the smaller monsters and bosses ahead of us with our strong synergy and formidable skills, reaching the final boss, Shen Demon, once again.
The massive Shen Demon floated in mid-air, surrounded by mesmerizing illusions that emanated an unsettling aura.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
"Yes!" I took a deep breath.
The battle began!
Yi Jian Han shot forward like a drawn sword, instantly charging at Shen Demon with fierce sword light that drew all of the boss's aggro. His movements remained sharp and agile as he dodged Shen Demon's various skills while dealing precise damage.
From behind, I focused on healing him while closely monitoring the boss's status and abilities.
When Shen Demon's health dropped to 70%, it let out a sharp shriek as an invisible wave of energy suddenly spread out!
"Here it comes!"
I immediately set up the three "Silent Domain Generators" that I had prepared earlier, arranging them in a triangular formation around Yi Jian Han, according to the pre-calculated positions.
As the generators activated, they hummed softly, emitting a gentle white glow that formed a "Silent Domain" with a radius of about ten meters.
Shen Demon's mental shockwave swept through, and the air within the domain seemed to freeze for a moment, but we were unaffected! Our skills were cast smoothly, and we moved freely!
"We did it!" I exclaimed with joy.
"Keep pushing!" Yi Jian Han's voice was calm and steady.
Without the interference of the mental shock, Shen Demon's most powerful control methods were rendered useless, making the subsequent battle much smoother.
Although Shen Demon's other skills remained formidable, under Yi Jian Han's nearly perfect positioning and the protection of my Silent Domain Generators, we steadily chipped away at its health without any close calls.
When Shen Demon let out a reluctant wail and dissolved into countless specks of light, the system notified us that we had successfully defeated the BOSS and, due to triggering a hidden mechanism, we received an additional rare reward.
We... the two of us, had truly taken down a BOSS that even large teams would hesitate to face!
