She shoved the drink into Lin Mo's hand and continued, "Our guests here are all prominent figures, each worth billions. As long as you keep them happy, you can make a fortune in no time."
Lin Mo instinctively accepted the cup, but upon hearing the word "serve," her hand trembled, nearly spilling the drink.
"You mean... serve?"
Her voice quivered slightly as she finally realized that things were not as simple as they seemed.
Seeing her reaction, the woman chuckled, "Oh come on, stop pretending to be so innocent. In this day and age, who isn’t in it for the money?"
Lin Mo suddenly stood up, her face pale as a sheet. "No, you misunderstand. I'm not here for money. I just agreed to accompany the guests; once I'm done with this, I’m going home."
"Accompany the guests?" The woman laughed as if she had heard the biggest joke. "Silly girl, do you think that in a place like this, accompanying someone is just about drinking?"
Lin Mo's body shook as she finally understood Madam Xiao's implication; a chill shot up from her feet. "No, this isn't what I want... I need to leave!"
The woman grabbed Lin Mo, who was trying to escape, and sneered, "Want to leave now? It's too late!"
"Let go of me!"
Lin Mo struggled fiercely but was firmly held down by several Sisters.
"Don't waste your energy; it’s better for everyone if you just cooperate," the leading Sister said with a cold smile as she pulled out a syringe from the drawer. "This is a good thing; it will guarantee that you relax."
Just then, a commotion erupted outside, the sound of high heels clicking and hurried footsteps mixed together.
"The manager is coming! The manager is coming!" someone shouted in panic.
"Clear out!" another voice urged urgently.
"Who told you to touch her?"
A deep and icy male voice rang out.
The Sisters in the dressing room changed color at the sound, their actions involuntarily halting.
The door to the dressing room was suddenly pushed open with force.
The air seemed to freeze at that moment; everyone’s breathing became cautious.
The newcomer was Li Sheng, the manager of Golden Pavilion Club, his sharp eyes scanning every person in the room.
His gaze finally landed on Lin Mo, and an elusive glint flickered in his eyes.
"Let go of her," he commanded coldly, and several Sisters immediately released their grip on Lin Mo.
Before Lin Mo could even catch her breath, she heard Li Sheng speak in a tone that was almost greedy, "Don't touch this woman; we'll keep her for now." A meaningful smile curled at the corners of his mouth. "Tonight, I have a big client coming in, and he specifically wants a fresh girl who hasn't been touched!"
The words struck Lin Mo like a sharp knife, instantly piercing through her remaining hope. "I can't do this. I want to leave."
As she began to gather her things to go, she was relieved she hadn't drunk the beverage handed to her earlier; otherwise, she would have truly fallen into their trap.
"You think you can just leave?" Li Sheng sneered, grabbing Lin Mo's wrist with force.
Lin Mo winced in pain and struggled to break free from his grip. "Let go of me! This is illegal detention!"
"Illegal detention?" Li Sheng scoffed, leaning closer to her ear. "Do you have any idea who is coming tonight? If you offend him, you'll never be able to stand in this city again."
A shiver ran down Lin Mo's spine, a surge of hatred rising within her, but more than that was fear. "I don't care who it is; I will not—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Li Sheng suddenly pressed a handgun against her head. The cold barrel against her temple made Lin Mo feel as though all the blood in her body had frozen.
She had never imagined she would find herself in such a perilous situation.
"Still trying to act tough?" Li Sheng's voice dripped with satisfaction. "Just cooperate, and it will be better for everyone."
