I was just as shocked as Aunt Liu. When did I become friends with him? I had no idea.
Shen Shiyan ignored our astonishment and continued speaking to me, "Miss Jiang, if you encounter any trouble at the company, feel free to reach out to me anytime."
He paused for a moment, his gaze sweeping over Aunt Liu with a pointed implication. "Some people need to be reminded that their hands are reaching too far."
Aunt Liu's face instantly turned pale. Shen Shiyan's words were clearly directed at her! Was he… backing me up?
My heart was in turmoil, but I maintained my composure on the surface. "Thank you for your concern, President Shen."
"No need," Shen Shiyan replied succinctly, giving me a nod before turning to leave. Throughout the entire exchange, he didn't spare Aunt Liu a single glance.
The office was left with just me and a visibly upset Aunt Liu. I looked at her and smiled, "Aunt Liu, it seems that trying to push me out of the game isn't going to be so easy after all."
Aunt Liu trembled with anger but couldn't utter a word.
In high spirits, I hummed a tune as I left the office.
Shen Shiyan… this man is quite intriguing.
I took out my phone and sent a message to my private investigator: "Please look into Shen Shiyan's recent activities."
Airborne Company was just the first step; I couldn't afford to neglect my studies either. After all, having been reborn, I intended to crush everything in my path.
In my previous life, because of Gu Mingxuan and Bai Lian, my focus had strayed from my studies, causing my grades to plummet and nearly preventing me from graduating.
This time around, I would reclaim the glory that belonged to me.
Returning to the university campus felt familiar yet strange in its own way.
As I stepped into the teaching building, I ran into an "old acquaintance." Bai Lian was walking over with a girl, chatting and laughing. Upon seeing me, her smile instantly froze.
The girl beside her, clearly her new "best friend," shot me a disdainful look and said, "Oh, isn’t this Miss Jiang, the one who was publicly dumped by her fiancé? How embarrassing to still show up at school!"
Bai Lian feigned concern and tugged at her, saying, "Don’t say that; Jiang Yao is quite pitiful."
“Pitiful? I think she deserves it!” the girl scoffed. “She stole someone else's fiancé and now she’s getting her comeuppance, right?”
Wait a minute, what do you mean by “stole someone else's fiancé”?
I raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me, but you can eat whatever you want, but don’t just say anything. Who told you I stole someone else's fiancé?”
The girl was taken aback by my question and looked at Bai Lian for support.
Bai Lian’s eyes flickered as she stammered, “Jiang Yao, don’t be angry; she just heard it from someone else…”
“Heard it from whom?” I pressed on. “Did you tell her? Bai Lian, since when did Gu Mingxuan have a fiancée before you?”
Bai Lian's face turned pale and she couldn't find her voice.
The girl realized she might have been used as a pawn and awkwardly closed her mouth.
I let out a cold laugh. “It seems some people not only enjoy being the third party but also love to twist the truth to clear their own name. What a performance!”
A crowd of students had gathered around to watch, pointing fingers at Bai Lian.
Her face flushed with embarrassment as she stomped her foot and dragged the other girl away.
I shook my head at their retreating figures. With such weak combat skills, they thought they could challenge me?
Entering the classroom, the professor was passionately lecturing at the podium.
I found a seat by the window and took out my textbook. Picking up the knowledge I had neglected in my previous life felt surprisingly easy now. Perhaps with an extra lifetime of experience, my comprehension had improved.
By the end of the class, when the teacher posed several challenging questions, I answered them all fluently with clear reasoning and tight logic, earning nods of approval from the teacher and curious glances from my classmates.
