For a moment, the police investigation fell into a predicament. The only son of the Xiao Family, Xiao Bai, had died such a tragic death that they could not help but be enraged. The Xiao Family immediately issued a death order, demanding that the murderer be found to avenge Xiao Bai. 0

The Matriarch of the Xiao Family stormed into the police station, berating them for not arresting Chen Dayong. "You bunch of useless fools! We, the Xiao Family, pay so many taxes to support you worthless people!" she shouted. "The murderer is right there; why aren’t you making any arrests?" 0

Qin Shao stood behind the chief, watching as the usually stern man wore an expression of humility. He lit a cigarette, despite the no-smoking sign posted right next to him. 0

"Captain Qin, do we really need to arrest Chen Dayong?" Wang Jun began to doubt whether he had made the right choice. It was supposed to be a righteous organization, yet they were bowing down for mere petty interests. 0

"To hell with it," Qin Shao cursed directly in front of Wang Jun's shocked gaze. He still couldn't resist coming to find me. 0

"Welcome! What can I help you with?" I sat at the counter, not at all surprised to see Qin Shao so soon. 0

"Officer Qin, you came alone this time. What do you want to buy?" I asked. 0

Qin Shao leaned against the doorframe. "Chen Dayong is about to be arrested." 0

"Is it because the police can’t find the real murderer and have to pin it on an innocent person?" I paused for a moment. "Or is it that the Xiao Family is pressuring the police?" 0

"You really can’t hide anything from you. Who exactly are you?" he asked. 0

"I'm just an ordinary shop owner," I replied casually. 0

Ding... After answering a phone call, Qin Shao's expression darkened even further. Another body had appeared, and this time it was intact. 0

It was merely a perfectly dissected corpse. The identity of the deceased, the second-in-command of the Mastermind, Su Qianfan, was discovered in an abandoned factory in the eastern part of the city. This piece of land had recently been acquired by the Su Family, who had driven out local residents at an extremely low price, intending to build a commercial center on it. Now that the body had been found there, construction plans would have to be postponed. 0

Su Qianfan had been dead for about eight hours, and the killer had acted with extreme professionalism, clearly possessing considerable specialized knowledge. Qin Shao could no longer contain himself. "Feng Juan, how did you do it?" 0

Qin Shao's gaze was fixed on me, not missing a single micro-expression. As an experienced police officer, he prided himself on having solved countless cases but had never encountered such a tricky situation. There was no direct evidence proving that the woman in the qipao before him was the murderer, yet his instincts told him that these two cases were significantly connected to her. In the future, there could be many more. 0

As a police officer, Qin Shao would never allow such things to happen. "Another person is dead? Who is it this time? Su Qianfan or Tang Huanyan?" My tone was as if I were discussing the weather. At this point in time, it should only be Su Qianfan. 0

"Your actions will harm Chen Dayong and bring extremely negative consequences to society. Stop it, Feng Juan." Qin Shao suddenly transformed into a different person, beginning to speak earnestly. 0

"The Xiao Family and the Su Family, along with other families, will not tolerate such occurrences happening one after another." I merely smiled. For someone like Qin Shao, as long as he could solve the case and catch the criminal, it didn't matter what means he used. This sudden change in approach was just another interrogation tactic. 0

"Officer Qin, instead of wasting time here with me, why not persuade those wicked individuals?" I suggested. "Perhaps if they actively admit their mistakes and voluntarily accept legal punishment, they might save their own lives." 0

Seeing that I was unyielding, Qin Shao stopped pressing further. He had already obtained the answers he wanted. 0

Upon returning, Qin Shao immediately arranged for his subordinates to secretly protect the last remaining Mastermind, Tang Huanyan. From the information I received, this revenge would not spare any of the killers who had harmed Chen Jiang. Only one Mastermind remained: Tang Huanyan. 0

Qin Shao also assigned people to monitor the surveillance footage outside Cinnabar Shop in shifts, determined to uncover my movements and the flow of goods. He wanted to know exactly how I had acted. After all, Chen Dayong had only contacted the outside world once, and following that, a series of murders ensued. The only direct connection to these murders was me. 0

The body of Xiao Bai yielded no clues, forcing the police to shift their focus to Su Qianfan's corpse. Based on the killer's clean and efficient method of operation, they narrowed their investigation to professional institutions like hospitals and medical schools. Unable to determine a specific scope for their investigation, time slowly slipped away. 0

Due to the deaths of Xiao Bai and Su Qianfan, Tang Huanyan felt fear for the first time, forced to hide at home every day. The remaining accomplices also dared not venture outside. All they could do was vent their frustrations in their group chat, cursing the police as useless and incompetent for failing to identify who killed Xiao Bai and Su Qianfan after so many days. 0

One day turned into two, then five, then ten... Before long, half a month had passed. This not only indicated that the police were making no progress but also meant that Tang Huanyan and her associates had not stepped out of their homes for half a month. For this group of wealthy young heirs, accustomed to a life of indulgence and wrongdoing, it felt no different than being imprisoned. 0

They let their guard down and decided to visit a bar they frequented. This bar was known for its privacy; nothing unusual ever happened there. The police stationed outside saw a few healthy individuals emerge and even witnessed Tang Huanyan accidentally kick one of her students. 0

Everything seemed normal. 0

However, that very night, a scream echoed from Tang Family Villa. When someone rushed inside, they found Tang Huanyan naked in the bathtub, her body burned as if scalded by boiling water despite it being cold water. 0
