Zheng Kaiwen swung his fist fiercely at Qin Shaoze.
Qin Shaoze did not dodge and took the punch head-on. A trickle of blood escaped from the corner of his mouth, but his gaze turned even more ferocious.
"Do you dare to hit me?"
Qin Shaoze wiped the blood from his lips and retaliated with a punch.
Zheng Kaiwen sidestepped, delivering a kick to Qin Shaoze's abdomen.
Qin Shaoze doubled over in pain, clutching his stomach.
Zheng Kaiwen was about to strike again when Li Xunwan grabbed him.
" Kevin, stop!"
Li Xunwan's voice trembled, her eyes brimming with tears.
Seeing the fear in Li Xunwan's expression softened Zheng Kaiwen's heart, and he lowered his fist.
Qin Shaoze regained his composure and shot a vicious glare at Zheng Kaiwen. "You wait!"
He turned and left the rehearsal room.
Li Xunwan slumped helplessly to the ground, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.
Zheng Kaiwen felt a pang of heartache as he helped her up. "It's okay, Li Xunwan, don’t be afraid."
He gently patted her back, soothing her in a soft voice.
Xie Qinghuan stood at the door of the rehearsal room, taking in the entire scene.
A cold smile crept across her lips, her eyes filled with malice.
She turned and left, pulling out her phone to dial a number.
"Hello, Qin Shaoze, I have a plan..."
In the following days, Qin Shaoze continuously appeared before Li Xunwan, verbally harassing and threatening her.
Zheng Kaiwen was always there in time to protect Li Xunwan.
Though he appeared calm on the surface, his inner turmoil grew increasingly intense.
He was afraid of losing Li Xunwan, afraid that she would be hurt again. He began to feel anxious, overly sensitive to every little thing she did.
Li Xunwan noticed Zheng Kaiwen's unusual behavior, but she said nothing. She knew he cared for her and was concerned about her. Not wanting to worry him, she always pretended that everything was fine.
One evening, Li Xunwan and Zheng Kaiwen were rehearsing together. Zheng Kaiwen seemed downcast, often lost in thought.
"Zheng Kaiwen," Li Xunwan asked with concern, "what's wrong? Do you have something on your mind?"
Zheng Kaiwen hesitated for a moment before shaking his head. "It's nothing, just a bit tired."
Li Xunwan didn't press further, but she knew he was hiding something from her.
After the rehearsal, they walked back to the dormitory together. The streetlights cast a warm glow, stretching their shadows long on the ground.
"Li Xunwan," Zheng Kaiwen suddenly stopped and looked at her. "Do you... still like him?"
Li Xunwan paused for a moment before realizing he was referring to Qin Shaoze. She shook her head. "Not anymore."
A flicker of joy crossed Zheng Kaiwen's eyes. "Really?"
Li Xunwan nodded. "Really."
A smile broke across Zheng Kaiwen's face. "That's good." He reached out and pulled Li Xunwan into his embrace, holding her tightly.
Li Xunwan stiffened for a moment before relaxing against his chest. She could feel his strong heartbeat and the warmth radiating from him.
Just then, a sports car suddenly stopped in front of them. Qin Shaoze stepped out of the car, his face twisted in anger as he approached them.
"Li Xunwan, how dare you be with another man behind my back!"
Qin Shaoze grabbed Li Xunwan's arm and pulled her away from Zheng Kaiwen's embrace.
Zheng Kaiwen stepped in front of Li Xunwan, glaring at Qin Shaoze. "Let her go!"
Qin Shaoze sneered, "Who do you think you are to meddle in my affairs?"
He swung his fist at Zheng Kaiwen.
