Li Xunwan and Zheng Kaiwen exchanged a smile, embracing each other tightly. In that moment, all misunderstandings vanished, and their love finally triumphed over numerous obstacles. However, just as the warmth enveloped them, the door to the rehearsal room was pushed open once more. A familiar figure appeared in the doorway, leaving everyone stunned.
“Qin Shaoze?” Liu Sitian exclaimed, a hint of wariness flashing in her large eyes.
Qin Shaoze stood at the entrance, slick-haired and made up, dressed in expensive designer clothes. His gaze swept across the room before settling on Li Xunwan. “Xun Wan, I came to find you,” he said with a hint of flippancy in his tone.
Li Xunwan instinctively shrank closer to Zheng Kaiwen, feeling the arm around her waist tighten slightly. “Qin Shaoze, what are you doing here?” Her voice was cold and firm.
Qin Shaoze seemed oblivious to the tense atmosphere in the room as he strode in confidently, his eyes lingering on Li Xunwan’s slender waist and curvaceous figure. “I heard your drama club is rehearsing a new play. I came to see if there’s anything I can sponsor,” he said, flashing a self-satisfied smile.
Zheng Kaiwen frowned deeply, positioning himself protectively in front of Li Xunwan. “Qin Shaoze, we don’t need your sponsorship. Please leave.”
Qin Shaoze’s expression darkened instantly. “Zheng Kaiwen, who do you think you are?” he sneered. “Xun Wan, are you really going to choose this mama's boy?”
A surge of anger welled up within Li Xunwan. She took a deep breath, straightened her back, and her chest rose defiantly. “Qin Shaoze, please respect my choice,” she said firmly and clearly. “I love Kevin, and that will never change.”
Qin Shaoze’s face grew even darker as he opened his mouth to respond when Liu Sitian suddenly interjected. “Oh dear, Qin Shaoze, you might not know this yet,” she said mysteriously. “We just discovered something interesting; would you like to see?”
Qin Shaoze’s expression shifted to one of panic. “What is it?”
Liu Sitian waved her phone teasingly. “Oh, it’s nothing much—just some emails and photos.” She shot a meaningful glance at Xie Qinghuan. “You know, some little secrets of yours with certain people.”
Qin Shaoze’s face turned pale as he took a few steps back. “You… you all…”
At that moment, Zheng Kaiwen suddenly spoke up, "Qin Shaoze, leave this place." His voice was deep and filled with authority. "If you dare to harass Xun Wan again, I won't hold back."
Qin Shaoze glanced at Zheng Kaiwen's strong arms and resolute gaze, then looked at Li Xunwan's determined expression. Finally, he turned away in frustration.
The atmosphere in the room instantly relaxed. Li Xunwan turned to Zheng Kaiwen, her eyes filled with affection. "Kevin, thank you."
Zheng Kaiwen smiled gently, lightly caressing Li Xunwan's cheek. "Silly girl, I will always protect you."
Liu Sitian watched the scene unfold and couldn't help but tease, "Oh my, you two are so sweet! I'm going to get cavities!"
Li Xunwan playfully stuck out her tongue. "Sitian, thank you. If it weren't for you, we might still be in the dark."
Liu Sitian waved her hand dismissively. "No need to mention it! I love seeing lovers finally come together." She paused, her eyes lighting up. "By the way, let's go celebrate with some milk tea! It's on me!"
Li Xunwan and Zheng Kaiwen exchanged smiles and nodded in agreement. The three of them left the rehearsal room chatting and laughing, leaving Xie Qinghuan sitting alone, lost in deep thought.
That evening, Zheng Kaiwen arrived at Li Xunwan's apartment. She was wearing a loose T-shirt and shorts that showcased her long legs as she busied herself in the kitchen.
"Xun Wan, let me help you," Zheng Kaiwen said as he entered the kitchen and gently wrapped his arms around Li Xunwan's slender waist from behind.
Feeling Zheng Kaiwen's solid chest against her back made Li Xunwan's heart race. "Kevin, why don't you wait in the living room for a bit? I'll be done soon."
Zheng Kaiwen softly blew into Li Xunwan's ear. "No, I want to do this with you."
Li Xunwan's face instantly flushed red. She turned around to look into Zheng Kaiwen's deep eyes and said, "Well... then you can take care of the chopping."
The two of them cooked together, occasionally exchanging sweet glances or gentle touches. After dinner, they cuddled on the sofa watching a movie.
As the film came to an end, Zheng Kaiwen suddenly turned to Li Xunwan and said, "Li Xunwan, I have something to tell you."
Seeing Zheng Kaiwen's serious expression made Li Xunwan feel a sudden rush of nervousness. "What is it?"
Zheng Kaiwen took a deep breath. "Li Xunwan, actually I've always..."
Just then, the doorbell rang unexpectedly.
