In the main hall of Yin Ming Hall, a chilling atmosphere lingered. I stood in the shadows of the corner, watching Xie Wuyuan seated in the main seat, his brow furrowed. Suddenly, a disciple clad in black rushed into the hall and knelt on one knee. "Reporting to Hall Master, the Upright Sects have united and are heading towards Yin Ming Hall!"
Xie Wuyuan sprang to his feet, a glint of cold light flashing in his eyes. "Good! Let them taste the power of Yin Ming Hall!"
A tightness gripped my heart as my precognitive ability activated unexpectedly. A bloody scene unfolded before my eyes: Xie Wuyuan was besieged by several Upright Masters, covered in blood, his life force fading. I clenched my teeth, knowing I had to take action.
"Hall Master, do not underestimate them!" I stepped forward to dissuade him. Xie Wuyuan turned to look at me, a flicker of surprise crossing his face before he returned to his indifferent demeanor. "What do you suggest?"
I took a deep breath and said, "The united strength of the Upright Sects cannot be underestimated. It would be wise for us to avoid confrontation and wait for an opportunity."
Xie Wuyuan scoffed. "What is there to fear? If they dare come, I will ensure they leave without return!" With that, he strode out of the hall, leaving me standing there, filled with worry.
I knew I had to make a choice. To save Xie Wuyuan might expose my own strength, but if I did not intervene, he would surely be gravely injured or even lose his life. After much contemplation, I decided to take the risk.
In the mountains, blades flashed and shouts echoed as I hurried towards the sounds of battle. Finally, I found Xie Wuyuan at the edge of a cliff, bloodied and barely holding himself up against several Upright Masters.
"Xie Wuyuan, today is your day to die!" shouted a White-Clothed Swordsman, his sword aimed directly at Xie Wuyuan's throat.
In that critical moment, I leaped forward and positioned myself in front of Xie Wuyuan. "Stop!" I shouted fiercely as my internal energy surged; I struck out with a palm that sent the White-Clothed Swordsman staggering back several steps.
Everyone froze in surprise, clearly not expecting an unexpected intervention. Seizing the opportunity, I quickly pulled out a pill from my pocket and placed it into Xie Wuyuan's mouth. "Hurry!" I whispered urgently as I helped him up to retreat.
Xie Wuyuan looked at me weakly, confusion evident in his eyes. But given the dire situation, he couldn't afford to ask questions; he braced himself and fled with me.
An angry roar echoed behind me: "Don't let them escape!" I turned to see several skilled fighters closing in.
"Apologies," I murmured, quickly forming hand seals. A flash of golden light erupted as several talismans flew out, transforming into a golden barrier that temporarily blocked the pursuers' path.
Xie Wuyuan stared at me in shock. "You... you can actually perform such advanced spellcasting?"
I didn't respond, only quickened my pace. We fled until we finally stopped in front of a hidden cave. I helped Xie Wuyuan inside and carefully examined his injuries.
"Why did you save me?" Xie Wuyuan asked weakly, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
I sighed and replied, "Because I know there is still goodness in your heart. That white moonlight you seek doesn’t truly exist."
Xie Wuyuan suddenly looked up, a flicker of pain crossing his face. "How... how do you know?"
"What matters isn't how I know," I said softly, "but that you should let go of your obsession and live in the present. The past is gone, and the future holds infinite possibilities."
Xie Wuyuan fell silent, his gaze troubled. I understood he needed time to process this information, so I refrained from speaking further and focused on healing him.
As night fell, the cave was enveloped in silence. I closed my eyes to rest when suddenly I had another vision of the future: because of my intervention, Xie Wuyuan's fate would change, steering him away from a path of darkness.
I opened my eyes and looked at Xie Wuyuan, who was leaning against the cave wall lost in thought. A sense of relief washed over me. Perhaps this adventure was worth it after all.
"What should we do next?" Xie Wuyuan suddenly asked.
I smiled and said, "First, let’s heal your wounds, and then... we will face the future together."
Xie Wuyuan looked at me, a glimmer of warmth flashing in his eyes. He nodded gently, "Alright."
Outside the cave, the moonlight poured down like water, illuminating this land that had once been stained with blood. In this hidden corner, a new story was quietly beginning.
