A sense of foreboding loomed over my heart like dark clouds, refusing to dissipate.
I closed my eyes and focused, channeling my energy in an attempt to glimpse the secrets of the heavens. In an instant, horrifying images flashed through my mind: the sky collapsing, the earth shattering, mountains and rivers reversing, and countless beings wailing in despair. The source of this catastrophe was unmistakably an Ancient Demon God that was about to awaken!
Opening my eyes, I couldn't help but gasp in shock. If this crisis was not addressed promptly, it would bring catastrophic disaster to the Immortal Cultivation Realm.
"Wuyuan, things are looking dire," I said, turning to my companion Xie Wuyuan with a grave tone.
Xie Wuyuan furrowed his brow. "What exactly has happened?"
I recounted the visions I had seen in detail. After listening, Xie Wuyuan's expression turned exceptionally serious.
"What are we going to do?" I asked anxiously.
Xie Wuyuan pondered for a moment. "This is a matter of great importance; we must unite with the Upright Sects to face it together."
I nodded in agreement. "You're right. But before that, we need to find a solution."
"The Ancient Ruins!" Xie Wuyuan suddenly brightened. "Legend has it that there lies a Secret Technique capable of sealing the Demon God."
We immediately set off for the Ancient Ruins. Along the way, we discussed our strategies while mentally preparing ourselves for the dangers that lay ahead.
At the entrance of the ruins, a chilling wind howled, and an icy aura enveloped us. We exchanged glances and nodded in unison before stepping inside.
As soon as we entered, countless vines burst forth from the ground, coiling toward us like venomous snakes. Xie Wuyuan reacted swiftly, slicing through dozens of vines with his sword and clearing a path for me.
"Be careful!" I shouted as I grabbed Xie Wuyuan's arm just in time to avoid a massive boulder crashing down from above.
In the perilous ruins, we worked together, supporting one another. Every step felt like walking on thin ice; a moment's carelessness could lead to our doom.
Suddenly, a loud crash echoed through the air, and the entire ruin shook violently. We looked up to see countless stones tumbling down from above.
"Run!" Xie Wuyuan shouted as he pushed me aside, only to be struck by a massive rock.
"Wuyuan!" I cried out in alarm, rushing towards him.
There lay Xie Wuyuan on the ground, blood staining his clothes. My heart ached as I trembled, trying to heal him.
"Don’t worry about me; go find the Sealing Method," Xie Wuyuan said weakly.
I shook my head, tears welling in my eyes. "No, I can’t leave you behind."
As I channeled my spiritual energy into Xie Wuyuan, I encouraged him, "Hold on, Wuyuan. We will find a way."
Xie Wuyuan managed a faint smile. "With you by my side, I fear nothing."
After a grueling journey, we finally reached the depths of the ruins. In front of an ancient altar, we discovered the method to seal the demon god.
However, when we understood its contents, we gasped in horror. This Sealing Method required the life of a Cultivator as its price!
Xie Wuyuan fell silent for a moment before suddenly saying, "Let me do it."
I turned my head sharply, disbelief written all over my face. "What did you just say?"
"Only this way can we save all living beings." Xie Wuyuan's expression was resolute.
I clenched my fists and shook my head firmly. "No! I won't allow you to do this."
Xie Wuyuan smiled bitterly. "But—"
I interrupted him, "We will bear this responsibility together."
Xie Wuyuan was taken aback, then a look of gratitude crossed his face.
At that moment, I had a new vision. I saw that we ultimately defeated the Demon God, but the cost was devastating—countless cultivators fell, and the land was shattered.
Taking a deep breath, I shared this premonition with Xie Wuyuan.
He grasped my hand tightly. "No matter the outcome, we will fight side by side until the last moment."
I nodded, determination shining in my eyes. "That's right, we will face it together."
After leaving the ruins, we immediately summoned the Upright Sects to discuss our plans. Although the road ahead was perilous, I believed that as long as we stood united, we could overcome this calamity.
Looking at Xie Wuyuan by my side, I silently vowed: no matter the cost, I would protect this person and safeguard this world.
