On a sunny morning, I stood in front of the mirror, gazing at the snow-white wedding dress draped over me, my heart brimming with happiness and anticipation. Today was the big day when I would step into the realm of marriage with Lu Jingshen.
"Are you ready?" Liu Rumeng pushed the door open, her face radiating joy.
I took a deep breath and nodded, "Yes, I’m ready."
In the church, friends and family gathered together. As I linked arms with my father and slowly walked toward the end of the red carpet where Lu Jingshen stood, I felt the warm blessings of everyone around us. Dressed in a sharp suit, Lu Jingshen looked at me with deep affection, as if we were the only two people in the world.
"I do." These three simple words carried our promises to each other and our hopes for a lifetime together.
After the wedding, Liu Rumeng pulled me aside and whispered, "Sister, I've met my true love too." Seeing the sparkle in her eyes, I felt genuinely happy for her.
Married life turned out to be as sweet as we had anticipated. Lu Jingshen and I supported each other as we managed our careers and family together. I completely set aside my Golden Finger and relied on my own efforts and talents to gradually elevate our company to the international stage.
"Darling, take a look at this." One day, Lu Jingshen excitedly ran over with a magazine in hand. When I focused on it, I was astonished to see my design featured on the cover of an internationally renowned fashion magazine.
"We did it!" I exclaimed as I hugged him tightly, tears shimmering in my eyes. This was all a result of our hard work together.
In our leisure time, we decided to embark on spontaneous trips. From the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Pyramids in Egypt, from the Statue of Liberty in New York to Mount Fuji in Japan, we measured the world with our footsteps and embraced the charm of different cultures with our hearts.
"Jing Shen, I have an idea." One night, I suddenly said to Lu Jingshen, who was engrossed in a book.
"What idea?" He set his book down and looked at me earnestly.
"We've made so much money; shouldn't we do something for society?" I suggested.
Lu Jingshen's eyes lit up. "You're right. We could establish a charity foundation."
And so, we embarked on our journey of philanthropy. From funding the education of children in impoverished mountainous regions to providing employment opportunities for the disabled, we took tangible actions to give back to society and help those in need.
One weekend, I met Liu Rumeng at a café. Looking at this confident and independent woman before me, I couldn't help but marvel at the wonders of time.
"Rumeng, how have you been?" I asked curiously.
She smiled and replied, "Very well! I'm now an executive at my company, and I have a boyfriend who cares for me."
We chatted about our lives and shared our joys as sisters do. Time flew by, and before long, Lu Jingshen and I welcomed the culmination of our love.
"Honey, do you think our baby will be a boy or a girl?" I asked, gently touching my slightly rounded belly.
Lu Jingshen tenderly placed his hand over mine. "Whether it's a boy or a girl, as long as they're healthy and happy, that's all that matters."
Nine months later, our little angel arrived in the world. Looking at the baby in the swaddling blanket, Lu Jingshen and I exchanged smiles filled with happiness and emotion.
Reflecting on the past, I couldn't help but feel a surge of emotions. Once, I was merely a pitiful supporting character trapped in the original storyline. Now, I had completely broken free from that constraint and embraced my own vibrant life.
I was no longer the girl who relied on a Golden Finger; instead, I had become a strong woman who achieved her dreams through hard work. I had a loving husband, a cute child, a successful career, and the best best friend. All of this was the happiness I had once longed for.
Looking out at the sunlight streaming through the window, my heart was filled with anticipation for the future. I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, I could face them bravely. I had found my own path in life, and I would walk it steadfastly.
