I had a dream.
In the dream, Shen Yi held my hand as we walked beneath the cherry blossom trees, pink petals falling like snow upon our shoulders.
His hand was warm, like holding a gentle flame, making my heart tremble with its heat.
“Lin Wei, do you like this kind of scene?” he turned his head, his eyes filled with a tenderness I had never seen before.
I nodded, unable to believe that the aloof Shen Yi would look at me with such eyes.
In the dream, he bent down and picked up a perfect cherry blossom from the ground, gently placing it by my ear. “It suits you.”
We kissed under the cherry blossom tree, his lips as soft as a spring breeze. I closed my eyes, savoring the beautiful thrill of my racing heart.
Then I woke up.
As I opened my eyes, I sighed; it was yet another beautiful dream that felt unreal.
I rolled out of bed and casually pulled back the curtains—only to freeze in place.
Outside the window, cherry blossoms were swirling in the air.
There were no cherry blossom trees in my neighborhood; how could there be any blossoms?
I rubbed my eyes, thinking I hadn’t fully woken up yet, but the pink petals continued to dance outside, just like in my dream.
“This can’t be happening…” I murmured to myself, quickly changing clothes and rushing out the door.
In the Central Square of the community, where a few pine trees should have stood, cherry blossom trees now bloomed abundantly. Pink petals danced in the wind, carpeting the ground beneath them.
I stood dazed beneath the cherry blossom tree, reaching out to catch a falling petal.
It was real.
My dream had become reality.
Just as I was lost in thought, a familiar voice called from behind me, "Lin Wei?"
I turned abruptly to see Shen Yi standing there in a deep blue shirt, his expression slightly puzzled. "Are you here to see the cherry blossoms too? These trees suddenly appeared last night, and the whole community is talking about it."
I opened my mouth but didn’t know how to respond.
Could it be that my dream brought these cherry blossom trees into reality?
The thought was absurd, but I couldn't come up with any other explanation.
"Are you okay?" Shen Yi furrowed his brow as he looked at me. "You don't look well."
"I'm fine," I forced a smile. "I just didn't expect to run into you here."
Shen Yi nodded, his gaze falling on my ear. "Your hairpin is beautiful."
I instinctively touched my ear and was surprised to find a cherry blossom pinned there, just like the one he had placed in my hair in my dream.
In that moment, I was certain—I possessed the ability to turn dreams into reality.
After returning home, I sat on my bed, contemplating this incredible ability.
If I could control it, did that mean I could dream of anything I wanted and then make it a reality?
With this thought in mind, I decided to conduct another test.
That night, I lay in bed, striving to drift into slumber.
In my dream, I was sitting on the rocks by the sea with Shen Yi, watching the sunset.
The setting sun painted the surface of the ocean golden, and the waves gently lapped against the shore, producing a melodious sound.
"Lin Wei, I have something to give you," Shen Yi said in the dream as he pulled out a small box from his pocket.
He opened the box to reveal a silver ring adorned with a blue gemstone that seemed to have something flowing within it.
"This is the Dream Recorder," he explained. "It can record all your dreams so you can recall them anytime."
I took the ring and slipped it onto my right middle finger.
It fit perfectly, and the blue gemstone shimmered with a mysterious glow under the sunset.
"Thank you, Shen Yi." I leaned against his shoulder, feeling the sea breeze brush against my cheek.
The next morning, I was awakened by my alarm clock and groggily stretched.
As I raised my hand to rub my eyes, a flash of blue light caught my attention—there it was on my right middle finger, the Dream Ring!
I widened my eyes, unable to believe my own sight.
The ring was real; its cold touch told me this was no illusion.
I carefully turned the ring, the Blue Gemstone shimmering with an unusual light under the sun, just like in a dream.
My ability was real! I could bring items from my dreams into reality!
This discovery filled me with both excitement and fear.
If I could control this ability, could my relationship with Shen Yi develop like it did in my dreams?
Thinking of this made my heart race.
In the following days, I began to consciously control my dreams.
I dreamed of Shen Yi approaching me in the classroom, and the next day, he really walked up to my desk during break and asked to borrow a book.
I dreamed of him having lunch with me in the cafeteria, and the next day, we truly "bumped into" each other and shared a meal.
I dreamed of him walking me home, and the next day after school, he actually offered to give me a ride.
Each dream slowly turned into reality, and my relationship with Shen Yi grew closer.
But problems soon arose.
I discovered that this ability was not entirely under my control; sometimes dreams manifested in ways I did not expect.
That night, I dreamed of going on a date with Shen Yi at an amusement park. We rode the Ferris wheel together and shared a kiss at the top.
The dream was beautiful, but when I opened my eyes the next morning, I found myself not in bed—wearing a pink rabbit-patterned pajamas—standing at the entrance of City Amusement Park!
Tourists around me were looking at me with strange expressions, and I wished I could just sink into the ground.
Worse still, Shen Yi was standing right next to me, dressed in a giant panda costume, with only a confused face peeking out.
"Lin Wei?" His voice came from inside the panda head, "What are you doing here? Why am I dressed like this?"
I was so embarrassed that I couldn't say a word; all I wanted was to disappear immediately.
But Shen Yi's reaction surprised me.
He looked at his outfit, then at my pajamas, and suddenly burst into laughter.
"It seems we've both encountered something strange," he said, his tone devoid of any anger. "Since we're already here, why not have some fun?"
With that, he took off the panda head and pulled out his phone from the pocket of the costume. "I'll call a ride for you first. You can go change, and I'll wait for you here."
I stared at him in astonishment, not expecting the usually aloof Shen Yi to be so considerate.
"Aren't you angry?" I asked softly.
"Why would I be angry?" He raised an eyebrow. "Even though I don't know what's going on, spending this bizarre morning with you feels quite interesting."
His words made my heart skip a beat.
It turned out that Shen Yi was not as aloof as I had imagined; he simply struggled to express himself.
That day, we truly spent the entire day at the amusement park, more wonderful than any dream.
On the way home, Shen Yi asked me, "Do you believe in fate?"
I didn't know how to respond and could only nod vaguely.
"I can't help but feel that everything that's happened recently is too coincidental," he said thoughtfully. "As if someone is arranging for us to meet."
I lowered my head, feeling guilty, afraid to tell him that it was all because of my ability.
If he knew the truth, would he think I was strange? Would he believe I was manipulating his feelings?
This secret weighed heavily on my heart, filling me with both anticipation and anxiety.
I didn't know where this ability would lead us, but I knew that whether in dreams or reality, I wanted to be with Shen Yi.
Even if it were just a dream, I would gladly lose myself in it and never want to wake up.
