Mings gazed intently at Guan Tianshe and said, "Third Miss, it has been a while. I have been waiting for you here for quite some time!"
Guan Tianshe forced a smile, turning her gaze to Guan Tianming's violet eyes. "Was this your arrangement? Did you know I was coming to kill you?"
However, Mings interjected, "Third Miss, it was your own carelessness that left behind clues; you cannot blame others."
With one hand firmly gripping Guan Tianshe, he retrieved a yellow paper package from his pocket. Inside was a small dark iron piece. He asked, "Third Miss, do you remember what this is?"
Guan Tianshe's expression changed, and she fell silent. Mings continued, "This is the tail piece of the iron needle you used while embroidering the other day! Moreover, this small piece of iron has been confirmed to come from Blacksteel, which is indestructible! It was found in the shattered heart vein of hero Guan. Third Miss, do you recall now?"
Guan Tianshe's face gradually calmed. "It seems I indeed underestimated the situation."
"In fact," Mings explained, "you acted before your brother Guan Tianfan could strike. At that time, our attention was focused on the Red Robe Man. You used the Blacksteel Needle to pierce through your father's Heavenly Silkworm Garment, allowing the subsequent arrows to penetrate his chest.
And when your brother confessed everything, you quietly retrieved the poisoned needle from your father's chest, erasing all evidence and ensuring that Guan Tianfan would bear the consequences. But in your meticulous planning, there was a flaw; due to the clash of internal energies near the heart vein, a small piece of your Blacksteel Needle broke off—this was a fatal oversight."
Mings fixed his gaze on Guan Tianshe and paused before adding, "However, there is still one question that perplexes me."
Guan Tianshe smiled faintly. "So there are still things you don't know?"
Mings flipped over the piece of Blacksteel Needle; on its back was a faint green mark that had long since been imprinted into the metal.
He pointed at the green mark and said, "Your father did not die from the arrows but from your poisoned needle! I want to know where you obtained Tian Chong Cao."
"Dead from a poisoned needle? So that means I killed him!" Guan Tianshe exclaimed with a hint of excitement and delight. "I never expected my brother's elaborate plans would end up benefiting me."
"He is your father! Do you truly wish for him to be dead?" Mings shouted angrily.
"Father?" Guan Tianshe suddenly laughed. "Do you want to know why I wanted him dead?"
Mings was taken aback as Guan Tianshe suddenly spewed a cloud of green mist from his mouth.
Instinctively, Mings stepped back, releasing his grip on Guan Tianshe. The latter brushed past him and dashed outside, prompting Mings to follow without hesitation.
Inside the Bamboo Cottage, only Guan Tianming remained. Just moments ago, he had been as rigid as stone, but now he stood up and addressed the entrance, "You knew this outcome all along, didn't you?"
"Even if I knew everything, it wouldn't change anything. Why should I want to know?"
At the doorway of the Bamboo Cottage, Qing Die entered, dressed in light attire.
Guan Tianming moved toward the door, seemingly intent on chasing after Guan Tianshe.
Qing Die spoke up, "It's useless; you know that."
She gazed into Guan Tianming's purple eyes and said softly, "Sometimes, to gain something, you must first lose something else."
Meanwhile, Guan Tianshe led Mings through several twists and turns in the back garden of Bu Dong Mountain Manor before slipping into a dilapidated house deep within the estate.
Inside the crumbling dwelling, a dim oil lamp flickered, illuminating a nearly collapsed bed that occupied most of the space.
At that moment, Guan Tianshe lay on the bed, turned away from Mings, chuckling softly. "Aren't you curious why I wanted to kill him? This is the reason."
Guan Tianshe shifted aside to reveal a human skeleton lying horizontally on the bed, its body astonishingly tinted in a pale green hue. Mings was startled by the sight before him.
Guan Tianshe pressed his face against the skull of the skeleton, tears streaming down his cheeks as he murmured, "She... is my mother."
Mings took a surprised step back. "But didn't your mother leave?"
"Hmph!" Guan Tianshe's eyes were filled with resentment. "It must have been my father who told you. He killed my mother, and yet he has the audacity to speak such lies."
"Guan Ao killed your mother?" Mings felt a wave of confusion wash over him.
Guan Tianshe smiled bitterly. "It's because of the very place where you stand now."
Mings blurted out, "You mean Bu Dong Mountain Manor?"
Guan Tianshe gazed at the Corpse and slowly said, "Seven years ago, my father used that Blacksteel Needle to poison my mother. I saw everything. He buried her body in the back mountain, and I secretly dug her up and have kept her hidden here for seven years. Whenever I feel lonely, I come to find her for company. I hate my father; he heartlessly killed the person he once loved. I want revenge. I will kill him with the same poisoned needle he used to kill my mother seven years ago."
As Guan Tianshe spoke, a dreamy smile appeared on his face. "Ming Captain, can you guess where that poisoned needle is now?"
Mings looked into Guan Tianshe's eyes and felt a twinge of unease.
"It's right here!" Guan Tianshe slightly turned to the side, and a dark iron needle suddenly pierced his chest.
Mings rushed forward and supported Guan Tianshe's shoulder. "Why... why would you do this?"
Guan Tianshe's gaze began to fade, and he murmured, "Father, mother, we all die under this poisoned needle... Is this what they call... fate?"
Guan Tianshe's voice gradually weakened until it fell silent forever.
