Asada Yukiho, dressed in a white suit with a deep red backpack that complemented her look, had originally planned to take the elevator down after work. However, after receiving a phone call while waiting, she changed her destination and headed towards the conference room at headquarters. 0

At first, no sound escaped through the gaps in the frosted glass, and the orange light cast shadows of two figures inside. Haruna leaned against the door, unable to suppress her growing anxiety. She had followed Yukiho here, hoping to discover something that might ease her unease. 0

From the shadows reflected on the glass, Haruna couldn't discern who Yukiho was speaking with, but judging by the figure's build, it appeared to be a middle-aged man. 0

"There's nothing more to discuss; I’ll resign from here at the beginning of next year." Finally, as the voice rose, Haruna caught a clear snippet of their conversation. It sounded familiar yet elusive. 0

"We agreed to stay until the end of next year; let’s talk about it then," Yukiho replied in her usual gentle manner, making it easy to imagine her smiling face. 0

Upon hearing the word "hospital," Haruna suddenly realized who was on the other end of the conversation—it was Yukiho and her father. Earlier last month, Yukiho had confided in Haruna about her father's desire for her to take over hospital affairs sooner rather than later. However, Yukiho enjoyed her current job and had no immediate plans to resign. 0

While studying journalism in college, Yukiho was also enrolled at Kumoto Medical School as an heir to the hospital. She excelled in both fields. 0

Previously, Haruna had casually suggested that Yukiho discuss this matter with Naoki Okamoto. To her surprise, Yukiho had merely smiled at her without offering any response. 0

That was when Haruna began to suspect that their relationship with Naoki Okamoto had been discovered. Every time Yukiho smiled at her, Haruna felt a chill run down her spine, and cold sweat would break out across her skin. 0

"Asada Yukiho, are you going with me to Keisyu Street? Morikawa Town Keiju District 3—201." 0

Yukiho's father seemed somewhat angry as he tightened his voice, lacing it with a hint of threat. 0

There was a pause in their conversation for some time before Haruna heard Yukiho softly respond with "Understood." The discussion then shifted to the newly emerging Electronic Company. It seemed there were more important matters to address as they moved into the meeting room. 0

Morikawa Town is located a considerable distance away, on the west side of the city. It takes about an hour to reach there by Line 1. The town isn't particularly bustling, with various small shops lining the streets. 0

Haruna once bought a pink paper umbrella at a shop called Nagazawa in the Keisyu District, and it still sits in her family's warehouse. Why does Yukiho avoid that place? 0

Haruna tried to recall details about Morikawa Town and the Keiju District, searching for any connection between the two, but she had only been there two or three times and had no leads. 0

"Senpai, you haven't left yet?" Haruna turned around to find Takashi Fujishiro standing there, holding a stack of documents with a hint of confusion on his face. 0

"Ah..." Haruna thought her expression must look quite awkward at that moment, feeling embarrassed as she pondered how to respond. Until Takashi spoke up, she hadn't even noticed someone was behind her. When did he arrive? Did he know she had been eavesdropping? 0

"I wanted to talk to Yukiho about something," Haruna tried to keep her tone as natural as possible. 0

"Oh." Upon hearing Haruna's explanation, Takashi immediately showed an understanding expression. "I turned around and saw you standing here. Asada Senpai should have finished work by now. I brought the last set of documents today." He raised the stack of papers in his hand as he spoke. 0

"I see, thank you," Haruna replied, forcing a smile and feeling relieved that Takashi hadn't noticed her earlier state. 0
