"Sister, what are you talking about?"
Tang Siyin said somewhat impatiently, her expression already showing panic. She had never expected that her usually submissive sister, Tang Leran, would confront her directly.
"Get out of the way," Tang Leran suddenly said.
Tang Siyin was taken aback. Hearing this, she replied angrily, "What are you saying? How dare you tell me to get out of the way?"
"I mean, move aside," Tang Leran repeated firmly, her eyes shining with an unprecedented determination. She stood there straight and tall, like a pine branch standing proud in the snow, no longer the weak little grass that bends under the wind and rain.
Tang Siyin was stunned. She looked at Tang Leran, her eyes filled with disbelief. In her memory, Tang Leran had always been the obedient sister who followed orders without question; she had never shown such strength and resolve.
"You... you've changed," Tang Siyin stammered, her voice filled with surprise and confusion.
"Sister, how can you say that? I am your elder sister. You are blocking my way; what is wrong with asking you to move aside?"
Tang Siyin was already frightened by the tone of the person before her and unconsciously stepped aside.
Supporting Tang Leran, Tang Yi whispered to her, "Sister, although I don't know why you're acting like this at the door, just now you truly resembled the young lady of our Prime Minister's Residence."
Tang Leran said nothing. In the original owner's memories, this younger brother had always treated her well.
Tang Siyin stood frozen in place, watching Tang Leran and Tang Yi gradually walk away. A wave of inexplicable unease surged within her. She had never imagined that her usually submissive sister would display such a different demeanor today.
She recalled Tang Leran's determined gaze and cold words from earlier, feeling a tightening in her chest. She had always thought of Tang Leran as a weak woman who was easy to control, but today's scene left her deeply unsettled. She began to doubt whether she truly understood her sister.
Tang Siyin's mind involuntarily conjured up memories of Tang Leran's gentle demeanor from the past; back then, she always obeyed without question and never showed any resistance. However, today, Tang Leran seemed like a different person. That firmness and indifference made Tang Siyin feel unfamiliar and fearful.
She stood still, gazing in the direction where the two had departed, a surge of inexplicable emotions rising within her. Suddenly, she felt a twinge of panic, as if something was quietly changing, and she was unable to control it.
In a corner at the entrance of the Prime Minister's Residence stood a slender figure, whose refined demeanor and handsome features identified him as Doctor Chen. Doctor Chen exchanged a discreet glance with Tang Siyin before following closely behind Tang Leran into the residence.
Although Doctor Chen was based in the west of the city, he had been staying at the Prime Minister's Residence recently due to the illness of one of the concubines in the household.
Doctor Chen quickly caught up with Tang Leran and called out, "Miss, I truly apologize; I didn't expect things to turn out this way."
Tang Leran did not pause for him but softly replied, "Doctor Chen, good and evil will be rewarded accordingly; you agree, right?"
Doctor Chen suddenly halted his steps, surprised as he watched their figures grow distant.
At that moment, Tang Siyin witnessed this scene and approached him, saying, "There are some people who won't know unless you use certain methods."
"You said that no matter what happened, you would help me. So this time is no exception, right?" Tang Siyin continued.
Doctor Chen nodded somewhat dazedly.
