You led Kagome and Bosaku Sei as they slowly walked on the snow-covered mountain path. This path was the only passage leading to their Yukionna clan's residence.
"I am originally from the Yukionna clan, living in the far north," You spoke with a hint of suppressed sorrow, tightly gripping the delicate jade hairpin in her hand, as if seeking some form of emotional support.
"Yukionna clan has always been peaceful and uninvolved in the conflicts of the demon world, and we have never revealed ourselves to humans. But everything changed because of a witch named Kaede."
"She has white hair and strange markings on her face, with cold eyes that seem to pierce through one's soul. This witch claims to want to drive out the Yukionna clan and has displayed terrifying power."
"I will never forget that day when Kaede suddenly appeared at the gathering place of the Yukionna Clan with a cold smile, and then extended her palm. A cold light shot out from her palm, injuring You's people one by one.
"Her name is Kaede Leaf?" Kagome couldn't help but furrow her brow, seemingly pondering the possible hidden meaning behind this name."
"Yes. Kaede is an extremely eerie witch. Not only did she kill most of our people, but she also used a yokai technique called 'Soul Absorption' to draw their souls into a mysterious gem. This gem is like a dark abyss, capable of absorbing all life and souls."
"Gems? What kind of gem could have such great power?" Bosaku Sei couldn't help but ask.
"You" shook his head. "I'm not sure either. All I know is that the gem is black and emits a strange light. Whenever someone approaches it, they feel a chill and fear, as if being drawn by some evil force."
In order to combat the notorious Witch Forst Moon, the Ice Frost Fairy decided to take action. She gathered all the powerful Yukionna Elder s, including Elder Fengxue, Elder Iceberg, and Elder Ice Crystal. Together, they designed a clever and dangerous trap.
"Elders, we must take immediate action. This Frost Moon not only endangers humans, but also threatens the survival of our Yukionna clan!" The Ice Frost Fairy said solemnly in the hall where the clan gathered.
Elder Fengxue responded, "Chief, we all understand the importance of this mission, but this trap requires us to pay a great price."
"I know, but we have no choice." Ice Frost Fairy took a deep breath. "Lead her into a secluded snow cave, use all our power to trigger an avalanche, and seal the entrance. Then engage her in a fight to the death until she disappears from this world forever!"
According to the plan, Frost Moon was successfully led into the snow cave. The elders concentrated all their power, and a strong demonic aura and icy spiritual energy condensed in the air, ultimately triggering a massive avalanche. Huge ice blocks and heavy layers of snow instantly covered the entrance of the snow cave, sealing off all exits.
"Now is the time to engage in a life-and-death battle with her!" Elder Iceberg roared.
The elders engaged in a bloody and protracted battle with Frost Moon, lasting for three days and three nights. The atmosphere inside the snow cave was extremely tense, with each attack filled with deadly intent. Elder Ice Crystal unfortunately died in battle, and several other elders were also seriously injured.
The entire Yukionna Clan gathered on a flat ground not far from the snow cave, carrying children and offerings, silently praying and waiting. A tense atmosphere enveloped everyone, until after three days and nights, only one figure emerged from the snow-covered avalanche. That was the Ice Frost Fairy.
But the moment she walked out, everyone felt a chill. Her eyes were no longer kind and peaceful as before, but filled with coldness and murderous intent. She tightly held a black gem, obviously taken from the Frost Moon.
"Chief, you're back! But what about the other elders?" a young Yukionna asked.
Ice Frost Fairy coldly replied, "They have completed their mission."
Since that incident, Ice Frost Fairy has changed. She began leading attacks on nearby human villages, not only seizing their wealth but also absorbing their souls to enhance her own power. This behavior not only violates the peaceful principles of the Yukionna clan for many years, but also causes extreme unease and fear within the entire community.
"This is not something our people should be doing!" The retired elder angrily said at a tribal gathering, but no one dared to support him, because the power of the Ice Frost Fairy was becoming stronger and more unpredictable.
"Anyway, that's how the whole thing unfolded," You finally finished her story.
"Kaede The appearance of the Leaf Witch changed the fate of the Yukionna clan," Bosaku Sei responded.
You looked at Bosaku Sei and Kagome and said, "After my mother and the Moon Shadow Witch battled for three days and three nights, she finally defeated her. But for some reason, she brought back that strange gem. Since then, she has become increasingly irrational."
"Her personality has become irritable, no longer the kind mother she used to be. What's even more surprising is that she has started eating people! Lately, she has become even more aggressive, to the point where she wants to kill me and our people."
Bosaku Sei and Kagome exchanged a glance, both showing a hint of unease and caution in their eyes.
Kagome took a deep breath and asked, "So you want us to help solve this problem and save your mother, right?"
You nodded, "Yes, I don't know what the gemstone does exactly, but I'm certain that finding it and destroying it is the only way to save my mother and our Yukionna clan."
"I understand. But how can we trust you? Your mother has been eating people, it's hard for us to believe she's innocent," Bosaku Sei said in a cold, hard voice.
You tightly grasped the jade hairpin, a determined light flashing in her eyes: "I know it's hard to believe. But my mother is not like this, she must have been influenced by that strange gem. I just hope that you can give me a chance to prove that my mother and my people are innocent."
Kagome and Bosaku Sei locked eyes once again, this time with a sense of determination added to their gaze.
"Fine, we are willing to help you. But you must guarantee that everything is as you say," Kagome finally said.
You felt deeply relieved, knowing that this was the only chance for her and her people to be saved.
"Thank you," You said sincerely.
The four continued to move forward in the blizzard.
Four people tightly wrapped in thick clothing, struggling to move forward in the blizzard. Suddenly, a desperate cry cut through the howling of the wind and snow.
"Help! Can anyone hear me?"
Inuyasha immediately became alert, his sharp dog ears quickly pinpointing the source of the sound, and then he said to Kagome and Bosaku Sei: "Come with me, someone needs help!"
Four people quickly followed the sound and found a caravan trapped in a snowstorm. The caravan consisted of people of all ages, their faces turning pale from the cold and fear.
Inuyasha didn't think much and immediately decided to rescue these people first.
"Everyone follow me, I know of a relatively safe cave nearby," Inuyasha shouted loudly, then led everyone through the wind and snow to a secluded cave.
You and Kagome were busy helping the people in the caravan unload their heavy luggage and distributing some emergency food and water.
"Thank you, if it weren't for you, we would have frozen to death here," said a middle-aged merchant with a slightly tired but grateful expression on his face.
Bosaku Sei shook off the cold snow and replied, "Don't mention it, it's what we should do. But how did you end up in a place like this?"
The middle-aged merchant shook his head, "We originally intended to cross this snowy mountain to reach another city for trading. But this sudden blizzard caught us off guard."
Kagome interrupted him, asking, "Are you all okay? Is anyone injured or sick?"
"Most people are okay, but there's a young man named Tang who got separated from us. If you see him, please make sure to help him!"
" Tang? Okay, we will keep an eye out," You responded.
Just as everyone was starting to relax, You suddenly felt an unusual vibration coming from the jade hairpin in her hand.
"What's going on?" You looked at the jade hairpin in confusion.
Bosaku Sei and Kagome also noticed the anomaly in You's hand. Kagome asked, "Does that jade hairpin have any special significance?"
You pondered for a moment and said, "This was given to me by my mother. It has tracking and warning functions. If it vibrates, it usually means there is danger nearby."
"Danger?" Bosaku Sei looked around skeptically, feeling only the oppressive cold and constant icy wind, without sensing any obvious threat.
Inuyasha furrowed his brow and said, "Regardless of what it is, we must be careful."
"What should we do now?" Bosaku Sei asked.
Inuyasha glanced at You and Kagome, then said, "We can't let these innocent people get involved because of us. You, can you take them to a safer place first, and then meet up with us?"
You nodded, "Okay, I will take them away as soon as possible."
Kagome added, "We will continue to search for that mysterious gem and try to resolve everything as much as possible."
