"You three are actually sleeping in my class! Get out of the classroom and run ten laps on the playground. If you don't finish in three hours, just leave school and don't come back!" The furious roar of the disciplinary director, veins bulging on his forehead, scared Guoguo, Han Min, and Guo Jingjing into trembling, their faces alternating between pale and flushed.
The classmates in the room also feared the disciplinary director and didn't dare to make a sound.
"Why aren't you moving yet?" Seeing that Guoguo and the others hadn't left, the disciplinary director shouted sternly.
The three didn't dare to delay and quickly dashed out of the classroom.
Outside the teaching building, the sun blazed down.
On the playground track, there wasn't even a bird in sight besides Guoguo and her friends.
One lap around the track is 100 meters; ten laps would be 1,000 meters!
"Hey, come on... Guoguo, run faster! At this pace, when will we finish ten laps?" Han Min, who had practiced Taekwondo for three years, naturally had better stamina than Guoguo and Guo Jingjing. Breathing lightly, she sprinted ahead, leaving Guoguo and Guo Jingjing far behind.
After just ten minutes, Guoguo and Guo Jingjing were already parched from the sun, their lips cracked, and their clothes soaked with sweat. Running felt no different from walking.
At this rate, even a turtle would outrun them...
Han Min had already completed two laps while Guoguo and Guo Jingjing had only managed half a lap. The gap was disheartening.
Not far behind Guoguo was Guo Jingjing, who was weak and panting even while walking; running was out of the question.
Guoguo was half walking, half running, and there wasn't a dry piece of clothing on her.
Guoguo's face still bore a pair of eyes that looked somewhat different but were still quite plain, and the freckles on her face reappeared under the influence of eyebrow pencil.
Han Min tried to persuade her, but she wouldn't listen, insisting on turning herself into an "ugly duckling." Guo Jingjing had no way to deal with her.
On the playground track, Han Min was still running swiftly, completing lap after lap.
Since the teaching building was right next to the playground, the head teacher could see the entire scene. If Guoguo and the others were caught slacking off and not running, they might be punished with thirty or forty laps by the head teacher.
After the political class ended, Han Min finished her run and rested in the shade of a tree, still cheering for Guoguo and Guo Jingjing on the track.
Guoguo and Guo Jingjing had already been scorched by the blazing sun to the point where they couldn't tell east from west, their feet moving mechanically as they jogged.
