Under the guidance of a fair-skinned nurse, they found One Ward.
Han Min pushed open the door to the ward, carrying a packed Century Egg Congee, and Guo Jingjing followed closely behind.
Liang Guoguo had just fallen asleep, but a few minutes ago, Guoguo had woken up from a nightmare.
Guoguo dreamed that her father Tang Zongchen, due to gambling debts, was being threatened by the casino owner who wanted to cut off his hand. Just as Guoguo dreamed of the knife coming down on her father Tang Zongchen's hand, she woke up in fright.
Guoguo wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and heard the sound of the door opening. Turning around, she saw Han Min and Guo Jingjing, and tears immediately filled her eyes: "Min, Jingjing, how did you know I was hospitalized?"
"It was the school beauty Han Senior who passed on the message. When we heard you were in the hospital, we rushed over," Han Min said briefly, omitting the part about questioning the truth of Han Guowei's words.
"Guoguo. Weren't you just suffering from a cold? Why is your leg in a cast?" Guo Jingjing looked at the right leg suspended in mid-air at the foot of the bed, gently touching the cast with reddened eyes. "It must hurt a lot, right?"
"I fell while buying medicine for Dad the other night." It really hurt, but seeing Guo Jingjing on the verge of tears, Guoguo didn't dare to tell the truth. "Jingjing, don't worry. I'm not in pain."
"Did you see your dad?" Upon hearing Guoguo mention her father, Han Min became angry. Looking at Guoguo's gloomy expression, it seemed like she really had encountered him: "Has he not quit gambling yet?"
"The other night, I ran into my dad outside a restaurant..." Guoguo nodded and briefly recounted what happened that night, leaving out the part about rummaging through trash cans for a Pull-tab Beverage Can and using it to buy something at the Recycling Station.
After listening to Guoguo's account, Han Min thought that if her own father were to gamble and refused to quit, she might resort to chopping off his hands with a kitchen knife to force him to stop.
Meanwhile, as Guo Jingjing listened, she began to cry, thinking that if she were in Guoguo's position, she wouldn't be able to go on living and would probably crash into a wall to end it all.
"Quiet now, don't cry. Your eyes are all swollen from crying, and look at you, crying so messily, it's quite ugly." Guoguo, injured and enduring the pain in her body, teased and comforted the continuously sobbing Guo Jingjing.
The oppressive atmosphere in the hospital room made Han Min feel suffocated, so she decided to change the subject and asked, "Guoguo, who brought you to the hospital?"
