The two of them returned to the hospital room with Guo Jingjing full of doubts. Han Min said, "It's so late, the corridor is empty except for patients, doctors, and nurses. There's no one else."
"Oh." Guoguo responded dejectedly, lowering her head to start unwrapping the gift. Although she didn't know who sent it, she was curious about what was inside the nice box.
"Who could it be?!" While mumbling, Guoguo opened the wrapping paper under the curious gazes of Han Min and Guo Jingjing and revealed the box.
"It's a ring!" Guoguo exclaimed in surprise as she held up a silver ring engraved with a phoenix.
"What a beautiful ring!" Guo Jingjing admired the ring in Guoguo's hand, feeling a surge of envy.
"It is beautiful, but I wonder who sent it," Han Min said, looking at the ring that sparkled under the light. She added, "Oh, there's also a note in the box!"
Like discovering a new continent, Han Min picked up the square folded note from the box and slowly opened it under the extremely curious gazes of Guoguo and Guo Jingjing: "This is my first time giving a gift to a girl. Don't ask who I am. You must wear this ring I sent you. Happy birthday."
"Wow, this must be from a boy; his tone is so domineering!" Guo Jingjing fantasized as she listened to Han Min read the note, her eyes sparkling with hearts.
"Isn't that obvious? Of course it's from a boy," Han Min playfully knocked on Guo Jingjing's smooth forehead: "The ring is for Guoguo, not for you to swoon over. Wake up."
After being knocked on the forehead, Guo Jingjing cried out in pain, covering her forehead with tears in her eyes as she glared at Han Min: "Min, you're such a violent person!"
"Thank you." To everyone's surprise, Han Min actually thanked her. "Guoguo, since it's from someone else, why don't you try wearing it to see if it fits?"
"I won't wear it." The ring was beautiful and Guoguo liked it very much, but she just didn't know who sent it. Feeling frustrated, she added, "Besides, I don't even know which finger I should wear it on."
"The way to wear a ring is quite particular, and its meaning varies," Guo Jingjing seemed to know the significance of wearing rings. "Index finger — wanting to get married, indicating single; middle finger — already in a relationship; ring finger — indicating engagement or marriage; pinky finger — indicating being single."
