The young man approached and stopped nearby. His slender eyebrows slightly raised as he looked into the crowd. After a moment, his gaze landed on Qing Wu. He paused briefly and broke into a smile. Then, he shifted his gaze to Liu Anmeng.
"Is she the cousin of the girl?" the man asked, his smile fading as he inquired, "Hmm... the one who is staying at her house?"
Liu Anmeng had been watching him. Upon hearing this, she couldn't help but nod in response.
The man displayed an extremely gentle and harmless smile. Then, he uttered a statement that shocked everyone present.
"I heard you stole a bun from the kitchen?"
The sudden and nonsensical remark made Liu Anmeng scoff dismissively. However, upon noticing the strange looks from the crowd, she recalled the situation and instantly became furious, questioning him, "Don't slander me! Which of your eyes saw me steal anything?"
"I don't need to see. I just need to know that a bun went missing from the kitchen, and you have eaten something from this house; that's enough."
His reasoning was so bizarre that it sparked low murmurs and quiet laughter among those present.
The Wenwu Brothers argued with him, but the man ignored them, merely lowering his gaze to Liu Anmeng and remaining silent.
Liu Anfeng wanted to say more but was stopped by Wu Linxi.
Wu Linxi pointed towards He Family and Qing Wu, who were focused on that direction, shaking his head at Liu Anfeng.
Hearing the crowd's soft laughter, Liu Anmeng felt as if every sound was mocking her. She was so enraged that she wished to tear apart the handsome face of the man before her.
"This is about their violence! Don't bring up unrelated matters!"
"How coincidental," the man said lazily with a smile, brushing off his clothing. "I was just discussing the stolen bun from the kitchen. Don't bring up unrelated matters."
"How can my situation be compared to yours?"
"What's different? You have no real evidence, just relying on 'Both Parties had a conflict' and 'they were injured in the residence,' and you insist that the injury must have been caused by this person."
The man spoke casually, "Well, I happen to know that you have eaten the steamed buns from the residence, and just now a bun went missing from the kitchen. Initially, I didn't know who was responsible for this, but after hearing your peculiar reasoning earlier, it suddenly dawned on me. According to your logic, that bun must have been stolen by you. Isn't that right?"
"That's ridiculous. By your reasoning, wouldn't anyone who has eaten this thing in the residence be suspected of stealing?"
"Then by your logic, wouldn't anyone who has had a dispute with you in the residence be suspected of hitting someone?"
A few short exchanges directly shut down Liu Anmeng's unreasonable claims.
Seeing their sister at a loss for words, the twins could no longer contain themselves. They jumped up and pointed at the man's nose, shouting, "What business do you have as an outsider meddling in our family's affairs?"
"Outsider?" The man curled his lips and extended his long index finger to gently brush aside their hands. "I'm not an outsider."
"Hmph. Then who are you—"
"The youngest of the Zheng Family."
Zheng Ning dusted off his sleeves and bowed slightly to Qing Wu, saying, "I am the tutor of the youngest daughter of the Liu Family."

The Liu Anmeng siblings left amidst the laughter of the crowd.
They originally intended to cause trouble for the Second House with the backing of the Matriarch. However, they found that the Matriarch was tired today; upon hearing that the children had fought, she didn't take it seriously at all and didn't even see them, merely sending a maid to advise them a few words before dismissing it.
Without the Matriarch's support and with both parents absent from the residence, the siblings were used to having things go their way at home. Although they had no other assistance, they still refused to back down. Thus, they swaggered into the Second House looking for trouble.
Originally, the Wenwu Brothers only wanted some medicine for their injuries from the He Family. Otherwise, when their parents returned, they would truly have no way to explain their injuries.
However, after talking with Liu Anmeng, the younger sister promised them that not only would there be healing medicine, but they would also be able to obtain compensation for the silencing money. The twins then changed their tone and insisted that the He Family provide a legal solution.
Liu Anmeng had long been displeased with Liu Qingwu's arrogant demeanor. She thought to herself that although she could not find an opportunity to undermine her today, it would still be good to deal with the people around her.

Her words were very firm. Liu Anwen and Liu Anwu felt a tremor in their hearts. They exchanged glances quietly and chose to remain silent.
But Liu Anmeng was burning with anger inside, starting to think about what to do next.
The He Family originally did not intend to let them off so easily. However, when they planned to have someone stop Liu Anmeng and her companions, they were halted by Zheng Ning's gaze.
It wasn't until they watched the three figures disappear that the He Family could no longer contain themselves and asked in a rather unfriendly tone, "What does the gentleman mean?"
"This matter is better handled when Lord Liu returns," Zheng Ning said slowly. "As the lady of the house, no matter what she does, she will likely be criticized by those people. These words left the He Family momentarily silent.
Seeing that she had taken his words to heart, Zheng Ning stopped speaking further. He then smiled at Qing Wu, signaling her to come aside as he had something to say to her.
Dou Mama inquired about the He Family's intentions. Seeing her nod, she picked up Qing Wu and followed behind Zheng Ning.
The unfamiliar guest was no longer by their side, and the He Family no longer needed to hide their emotions. They quickly called for Perilla and Liang Hai, instructing them to apply medicine to Liu Anfeng.
Initially, Liu Anfeng refused, insisting that he was fine. However, he ultimately lacked the strength to hold on. With Wu Linxi and Liang Hai half-persuading and half-supporting him, they managed to bring him to the bedside and pushed him onto the bed.
When Liu Anfeng was standing earlier, he could still endure it, but now that he was on the bed, an overwhelming fatigue washed over him.
Ignoring the pain from his injuries beneath him, lying down felt quite comfortable.
Liu Anfeng stopped struggling and obediently lay on the bed while Liang Hai and the others applied medicine to him. As he felt a cool sensation on his wounds and the medicine began to take effect, he gradually fell asleep from exhaustion.
Before Zheng Ning arrived, he had already heard that this Fifth Young Lady of Liu Residence had some speech difficulties. When he asked her questions, they were brief, such as whether she could read or write and how much schooling she had received. Qing Wu answered slowly, and he did not rush her; instead, he smiled patiently beside her, appearing relaxed and unhurried.

Qing Wu understood who he meant by "that person." After thinking for a moment, she simply replied, "I was saved."
Her life had been saved by him.
Zheng Ning immediately understood.
He had initially thought that it was Qin Shuying who saved Qing Wu but did not expect her to have such an extraordinary encounter with that person. He also began to understand why Huo Yun'ai sought him out for her sake.
After pondering for a while, Zheng Ning could only sigh and say, "It is indeed fate."
The conversation between Zheng Ning and Qing Wu was mostly innocuous except for the last few sentences. The reason they moved aside was simply that Zheng Ning noticed the He Family felt somewhat uncomfortable in his presence and wanted to give them time and space to handle their current matters.
Seeing that Liu Anfeng had returned to his room to apply medicine, Zheng Ning then stepped forward to formally greet the He Family.
He acted without formality; in front of the women of the He Family, there were no elaborate rituals. Instead, he approached them like an ordinary friend, openly acknowledging his intentions.
He Family had previously heard a rough outline from the servants but did not understand the details, so they listened attentively. After he finished speaking, they asked, "May I ask, sir, who invited you to our humble home to teach the young lady?"
Zheng Ning replied without hesitation, "I have always heard that Liu Young Lady is exceptionally intelligent..."
"Is it General Qin?"
"General Qin? Qin Shuying?" Zheng Ning clearly paused in surprise, then slowly regained his composure and smiled ambiguously, "Well, madam, you guessed well."
His words were vague. However, apart from Qin Shuying, the He Family could not think of anyone else related to the Liu Family who could invite someone from the Imperial Teacher Zheng Family. Thus, upon hearing his answer, they took it as the truth.
Thinking of Zheng Ning's earlier assistance, He Family sincerely said, "Thank you very much for your help earlier."
"It's nothing," Zheng Ning replied with a smile. "It's rare for me to take on a disciple, and this girl is my first. Naturally, I cannot let her be bullied by those useless ones. If I can't even handle this small matter, I fear I won't be able to establish myself in the capital in the future."
After a brief pause, Zheng Ning agreed on a time for lessons and took his leave.
Due to the complexity of today's events at Liu Residence, the He Family did not insist on keeping him longer. Once he left, they hurriedly sent someone to the yamen to find Liu Fangyi, informing him about Liu Anfeng being beaten by his twin brothers.
