When the slightly cool kiss touched her lips, Qing Wu had not fully awakened from her previous languor. 0

In the moment of her daze, the coolness on her lips had completely vanished. 0

In its place was the boy's more fervent probing and seeking. 0

His movements were clumsy, yet driven by his true feelings, filled with undeniable passion that nearly overwhelmed her. 0

Qing Wu was utterly stunned. 0

She had never experienced this before and understood what kind of situation she was in. 0

She just didn't expect Huo Yun'ai to do such a thing to her. 0

For a moment, she felt both embarrassed and angry. 0

—What did this Fellow take her for? 0

How could he take advantage of her like this? 0

Wasn't he supposed to treat her as his "closest person"? 0

Initially, she felt weak all over, but now, fueled by the anger burning in her heart, she slowly regained some strength. 0

Just as she gathered her energy to open her eyes and push him away, the boy suddenly released his hold on her. He slightly bent over, hands braced against the edge of the bed, breathing heavily. 0

His breaths were urgent and deep, filled with forced restraint. Then he abruptly stood up, quickly walked away, and burst out of the door. 0

Soon, his hurried footsteps were blocked by the closed door, and they could no longer be heard. 0

Qing Wu slowly opened her eyes, struggled for a moment, and suddenly sat up. 0

She glanced toward the door, her eyes reddening with anger. 0

This scoundrel! 0

What does he take her for? 0

A palace woman to be trifled with at will?! 0

In her shame and fury, Qing Wu no longer wanted to see him. Taking advantage of his absence, she recklessly jumped out of bed and rushed toward the door. 0

After running a few steps, she realized something was wrong. She quickly turned back, put on her shoes, then pushed open the hall door and hurried down the steps. 0

Li Zi was guarding the entrance. Upon seeing Qing Wu, he was about to greet her with a smile but noticed her unusual expression and quickly called out to her. 0

However, Qing Wu was in a state of turmoil and had no time to pay attention. 0

She completely cast aside Li Zi's voice and everything happening in Zhaoning Palace from her mind. 0

Once she ran out of Zhaoning Palace, a wave of cold air rushed in, piercing into her neck. 0

Qing Wu shivered and then realized that in her haste, she had forgotten to put on her cloak. 0

But at this moment, she just wanted to get away from there and absolutely refused to go back. Gritting her teeth, she continued forward. 0

Just then, she noticed something was off with her lips; there was a slight stinging sensation. 0

As she walked, she raised her hand to gently touch them, and immediately furrowed her brow and gasped in surprise. 0

...It hurt. 0

Was it swollen or had it broken? 0

How much strength did he use! 0

In her frustration, she couldn't help but think back to what had just happened. 0

His breath still lingered between her lips and tongue. 0

There was a faint, elegant scent of tea. 0

Qing Wu tried hard to wipe it away. However, it had already stained, and she couldn't erase it. 0

In doing so, the stinging sensation on her lips only intensified, and it was of no use at all. 0

Qing Wu was both angry and anxious, nearly on the verge of tears. 0

Holding it in, she made her way back to Ningxin Pavilion, slammed the door shut behind her, and threw herself onto her bed, ignoring everyone. 0

Huo Yun'ai took a long time to calm down. 0

When he returned to the hall, he found that the girl had already vanished without a trace. Looking around the room, apart from the slightly disheveled brocade quilt, it seemed there were no signs of her presence. 0

Staring at the quilt for a while, he looked around again. Finally, his gaze landed on the pink velvet-trimmed cloak. 0

After pondering for a moment, he reached out and picked up the cloak, draping it over his arm. The Young Emperor hurried out of the room and asked the eunuch guarding the door, "Where is she?" 0

Li Zi was yawning with his hands tucked into his sleeves. Upon hearing Huo Yun'ai's question, half of his yawn was startled away. 0

"Your Majesty is asking about Lord Liu?" He pointed in the direction Qing Wu had left, "She probably went back to Ningxin Pavilion." 0

Huo Yun'ai nodded and took a few quick steps before suddenly turning around and asking solemnly, "What was her condition when she left?" 0

"Lord Liu?" Li Zi, confused, thought for a moment and stammered, "There wasn't much of a situation..." 0

Only then did the Young Emperor's expression improve slightly as he turned and strode toward Ningxin Pavilion. 0

Dou Mama had just entered the courtyard of Ningxin Pavilion when she saw two palace maids whispering under the corridor, occasionally glancing toward Qing Wu's room. She approached and scolded them a few times; before she could ask further, the maids' expressions changed in unison as they hurriedly bowed toward the courtyard entrance. 0

Dou Mama didn't need to turn around to know that Huo Yun'ai had arrived and quickly went to greet him. 0

However, Huo Yun'ai ignored everyone, not even responding as he usually would. He walked straight in until he stopped in front of Qing Wu's door. 0

Looking at the tightly closed door, after a moment, he took a breath and asked in a calm tone, "Is she alone inside?" 0

"Replying to Your Majesty, yes." The palace maid answered tremulously. 0

"How long have you been back? Have you been inside the whole time?" 0

"Not too long. I suppose... I must have fallen asleep." Another palace maid bravely replied, her voice trembling. 0

Huo Yun'ai, however, was unaware that his expression was as cold as frost, instilling great fear in those around him. 0

He stared at the tightly closed door for a while before finally letting out a heavy sigh and handing over the item in his hand to Dou Mama. 0

"Have her come to Zhaoning Palace for dinner later." 0

The Young Emperor deliberately raised his voice a bit so that those inside could hear, "She must come. I have something to say to her." 0

Dou Mama had been by Huo Yun'ai's side for many years. Since his youth, she had taken care of him. 0

Unlike the two palace maids who only saw the emperor's extreme anger, she could also discern his uncertainty and hesitation from his tone and demeanor. 0

Though she did not know what had transpired between the two, she believed that any heartache must eventually be resolved. Moreover, these two children had always had a good relationship since childhood. Regardless of any significant disputes, they could simply argue a bit and move on. 0

With this in mind, she advised Qing Wu accordingly. 0

She sent all the palace maids away and then gently spoke with Qing Wu at the door. 0

After a while, the girl showed her the door; her eyes were a bit red, but her face was very pale. 0

Seeing her in this state, the words of comfort that had been prepared earlier were unable to come out for Dou Mama. 0

In response to her kind inquiry, Qing Wu silently accepted the cloak, shook her head, and finally said, "I will go tonight." 0

He had instructed Dou Mama. If she didn't go, wouldn't it put Dou Mama in a difficult position? 0

After all, she was an elder who had cared for her like family for six years. 0

She didn't want to make things hard for Dou Mama. 0

The dinner this time was rather awkward. 0

Qing Wu inexplicably didn't want to sit too close to him. She chose the farthest seat available. Who would have thought that this position would end up being directly across from him? 0

No matter what he said, Qing Wu was somewhat distracted. She hurriedly took a few bites of rice, didn't even touch the vegetables, and then jumped down from her chair, claiming she was full and couldn't stay any longer, rushing toward the door. 0

However, as a delicate young lady, no matter how fast she was, she couldn't compare to a boy who had trained in martial arts for years. 0

Huo Yun'ai casually tossed aside what he was holding and quickly caught up with her. He firmly grasped her hand in his palm. Ignoring her struggles and objections, he turned to Dou Mama and instructed, "Serve more dishes and take them back to Ningxin Pavilion for her to eat warm." He also reminded her, "Choose the dishes she likes." 0

With that, he held her hand and walked straight outside. 0

The boy's hand was long and strong. 0

Her hand was soft and delicate, just like her. 0

Holding hands like this, it truly feels... quite nice. 0

Huo Yun'ai never allowed her to escape. The journey was silent. 0

Until they reached the gate of Ningxin Pavilion, he habitually bent down, preparing to place a kiss on her forehead. 0

Unexpectedly, the girl did not smile and wait for him as she usually did; instead, she shrank back and took half a step away. 0

The Young Emperor's heart suddenly sank. 0

He slowly straightened up, his gaze heavily fixed on the delicate girl before him. 0

"You've noticed, haven't you?" 0

He raised his long fingers, ignoring her retreat, and tightened their clasped hands with undeniable strength and determination. 0

When he spoke again, it was no longer a question but a firm confirmation. 0

"You know what I did back then." 0
