It is not surprising that he would come to a place like this, but it was her first time here and she encountered him. Gu Lvq Qi couldn't help but marvel at the wonders of fate, though unfortunately, their relationship was a rare and complicated one.
It had only been a few days since their last separation at the Art Exhibition, yet seeing him again made her feel even more flustered than before.
She lowered her gaze, unable to meet the man's eyes directly.
Nie Fengling's gaze roamed over her, assessing her, before he turned to Xia Yu, who had walked over to stand beside him. "Do they know each other?"
"I don't know." Xia Yu lowered his head. As a secretary, he knew what to say and what not to say.
Seeing Xia Yu's indifferent demeanor, Nie Fengling's curiosity grew as he looked at the woman in front of him who appeared flustered. He simply sat down on the sofa to continue listening to the gossip.
"Why aren't you speaking? When did you become so timid?" Mu Tongzi smirked and teased.
Not knowing where she found the courage, Green Qi raised her head and looked at him deeply before turning to leave. Just as she took a step forward, the man beside her reached out and grabbed her.
Feeling a slight pain in her wrist, she frowned slightly. Just as she was about to speak, the man's deep voice came from beside her: "What's wrong? Did I hit a sore spot? Or are you trying to run away because you don't want to see me?"
"What does this have to do with you?" Coming back to her senses, she reached out to pry away the large hand gripping her wrist, but unexpectedly, the grip tightened as if he wanted to break her hand.
"It didn't matter before, but it matters now!" Mu Tongzi lightly curled his lips into a smile. His handsome face held a cold and sharp light, while his dark and deep eyes were filled with inscrutable interest.
"You either come with me now or I'll have someone take you home!"
As soon as she heard the domineering and unrefusable request, Green Qi immediately furrowed her brows and glared coldly at the handsome and elegant man in front of her. Taking a deep breath, she continued to twist the wrist that he was holding, but after a struggle, she ultimately failed.
She gritted her teeth and said, "Let go of me, I can go back by myself!"
Although she wanted to wait for Jiang Chengmu to come out, it seemed impossible at the moment. However, there was no need for her to go with him or let his people take her home.
"Do you think I would let you go back alone? Or do you not want to go back and want to follow me?" Mu Tongzi's teasing voice pierced through her eardrums again.
Just as she was about to retort that he shouldn't be so self-righteous, Nie Fengling, who was sitting next to her, spoke up first: "Mrs. Jiang, since Mu Shao has invited you so warmly, why not just accept it?"
Green Qi was already feeling frustrated with no outlet for her anger, and now someone had come to her door. She turned her head and raised an eyebrow at Nie Fengling, "Who are you? Don't think just because you have a woman's face you can meddle in other people's business!"
Upon hearing Green Qi's shocking words, Nie Fengling's expression immediately darkened. After all, he was Mu Tongzi's childhood friend and a golden bachelor. His face was certainly attractive enough for women, even if it lacked a bit of masculinity; it wasn't fair to call it a woman's face!
However, since Mu Tongzi was present, he couldn't lose his temper. He cleared his throat awkwardly and said, "I am Jiang Chengmu's business partner, Nie Fengling. We met once before!"
Looking at the unfamiliar face in front of her, Gu Lvq Qi couldn't recall where she had seen him before. Anyone who could be around Mu Tongzi and was Jiang Chengmu's business partner must be an influential rich heir; there was no need to offend him over this.
So even though she had no impression of him in her mind, she still echoed back, "Oh, so it's Nie Shao!"
"Finally remembered! I knew it! With this face of mine, how could anyone forget me? Especially since I'm a man!" Hearing Green Qi call him Nie Shao, Nie Fengling replied proudly—
