At the entrance of the hotel, Xue Yiyang had just parked the car. After saying thank you, she opened the door and got out without hesitation. Suddenly, a man's urgent voice called out behind her, "Qiqi!"
She paused, about to turn around, but then heard his gentle yet incredibly firm words: "You hate me!"
With her back to him, her grip on her bag tightened suddenly. Taking a deep breath, she ultimately did not turn back, straightening up as she walked into the hotel lobby.
Over the years, she had indeed hated him; however, no matter how intense the hatred was, time would gradually fade it away.
He had promised to take her out for a walk, and Mu Tongzi kept his word. However, it wasn't in the evening; he canceled his morning schedule and took her to a farmhouse in the suburbs. They enjoyed a meal of self-sufficient farm dishes. For someone of his status, it was rare for him to lower himself to eat in such a place.
Knowing they would be heading back tomorrow, she dragged him around to shop for local specialties and snacks.
Seeing her frantic pace, Mu Tongzi shook his head helplessly and followed along, helping to carry things.
In the past, he would never have needed to help with such matters; he had never acted as a laborer for any woman. But this time, since it was her, he found the experience quite intriguing—like a child discovering something fun and enjoying it.
Although Mu Tongzi had taken her out for fun, she did not forget about her actual work. Even though there were still places left to explore, she didn't linger and began packing as soon as they returned to the hotel.
Sitting on the sofa, Mu Tongzi leaned over to look at the drawings on the tea table. He casually flipped through the sketches while occasionally glancing at her busy figure in the room, feeling inexplicably reassured.
Soon enough, his gaze became glued to an exquisite hand-drawn design—the blueprint for the city library. The entire design cleverly integrated traditional Chinese wooden materials with metal construction. The library resembled a three-dimensional giant book. She used clean and transparent watercolors to depict the light effects of the glass dome and heavy gouache to express the solidity of the wood. The entire design was not limited by tools; it utilized various paints' strengths and combined them to convey the texture of space.
Mu Tongzi's eyes brightened even more; she truly surprised him. Not only did she possess outstanding creativity, but her foundational skills were also exceptionally solid. What was even more commendable was her meticulous attitude towards details. The surface of the drawing showed no signs of fraying from excessive erasing, indicating how carefully she had used an eraser board to clean up her draft lines.
He looked up at the figure packing things, "Why are the building materials for the city library so unique?"
"Yeah, most designers would choose futuristic materials like steel and glass, but that would make the overall design lean towards a modern minimalist style, cold and rigid, lacking any cultural warmth. That's why I chose special materials to reflect the long-standing cultural heritage. What's wrong with this design?"
"No, this design is excellent!" He did not hide his admiration at all and glanced at the nearly packed luggage. "Our flight is tomorrow afternoon; there's no need to rush."
"..." She had just finished packing when she said this, and Green Qi shot him an exasperated glance. "Now that everything is packed, we can still go out for a stroll in the morning. This is called being prepared for battle."
"If only you could be prepared for everything!" Saying this, he picked up the documents from the table and waved her over. "Come here!"
