The next day, early in the morning, someone knocked on my dorm room door.
"Who is it?" I asked impatiently as I opened the door.
"Dr. Lin, come on, let's go eat!" Cao Tianjiao stood outside.
"Huh?" I was taken aback.
"Huh what? I told you to go, so go!" Cao Tianjiao said stubbornly.
"I'm not going!" I slammed the door shut.
"You..." Cao Tianjiao nearly got hit by the door and turned red with anger.
I opened the door again and said irritably, "What do you want?"
"Dr. Lin, hello, let me introduce myself. My name is Cao Tianjiao!" Cao Tianjiao extended his right hand.
"Cao Tianjiao?" I realized and asked, "Is your grandfather Old Cao?"
"Yes!" Cao Tianjiao nodded.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Can you give me the formula you used to treat my grandfather's stomach cancer?" Cao Tianjiao inquired.
"Give it to you?" I laughed in anger, "Why should I give it to you?"
"Giving it to me will be beneficial for you!" Cao Tianjiao said.
"What benefits?" I asked.
"You can have any benefit you want!" Cao Tianjiao tilted his head and thought for a moment before replying.
"Oh really?" I stared at Cao Tianjiao and smiled mischievously.
"What are you planning?" Cao Tianjiao crossed his arms and looked at me warily.
"Weren't you saying any benefit is fine?" I chuckled.
"You... you want to take advantage of me?" Cao Tianjiao pointed at me and scolded, "You rogue, don't even think about it!"
"If I'm not trying to take advantage, then I'm not giving it!" I pouted.
"If you don't give it to me, I'll make you regret it!" Cao Tianjiao said fiercely.
"Here we go again with the threats!" I laughed, "What can you do to make me regret it?"
"I..." Cao Tianjiao was at a loss for words.
"Step aside, I want to go out!" I said.
"Dr. Lin, I was wrong, and I apologize!" Cao Tianjiao grabbed my hand and said softly, "I had a bad attitude just now. Please don't be angry, okay?"
"Pfft!" I laughed out loud.
This girl changes her expression faster than flipping a book!
"What are you laughing at?" Cao Tianjiao's cheeks flushed slightly.
"I think you're cute, is that okay?" I replied with a smile.
"Then can you give me the formula?" Cao Tianjiao asked.
"No way!" I shook my head.
"You..." Cao Tianjiao was exasperated.
"Come on, I'll take you out to eat!" I said with a smile.
"Okay!" Cao Tianjiao turned her anger into joy.
Cao Tianjiao and I walked out of the clinic together.
We ran into Mei Yonglai.
"Miss Cao, good morning!" Mei Yonglai said with a smile.
"Get lost!" Cao Tianjiao snapped coldly.
"Miss Cao, I'm very familiar with this area. Where do you want to eat? I can take you there!" Mei Yonglai persisted.
"I said get lost!" Cao Tianjiao shouted angrily.
Mei Yonglai looked embarrassed.
"Do you still dare to follow me?" Cao Tianjiao became even angrier when she saw Mei Yonglai trailing behind her.
She rolled her eyes and linked her arm with mine.
"This is my boyfriend, satisfied now?" Cao Tianjiao said.
"Huh?" Mei Yonglai was stunned.
I was also taken aback.
This girl, in order to reject Mei Yonglai, actually used me as a shield!
"Let's go, boyfriend!" Cao Tianjiao pulled me along to a barbecue stall.
Cao Tianjiao and I sat across from each other.
Cao Tianjiao ordered a few dishes and then said, "Dr. Lin, give me the recipe!"
"You haven't given up yet?" I replied, speechless.
"Please tell me, I'm begging you!" Cao Tianjiao pouted.
"Impossible!" I shook my head.
"Why is it impossible?" Cao Tianjiao asked.
"There’s no reason; it’s just impossible!" I answered.
"Stingy!" Cao Tianjiao scoffed.
After a moment, the food arrived.
Cao Tianjiao and I chatted while eating.
Of course, she mostly did the talking.
I occasionally nodded or shook my head.
"Boss, check please!" Cao Tianjiao shouted loudly.
"I'll take care of it!" I said.
"No, I'll do it!" Cao Tianjiao insisted.
