We arrived in China, this ancient yet vibrant land. During the preparation phase, I delved deeply into China's history and mythology, particularly the legends surrounding dragons. In traditional Chinese culture, dragons symbolize power and wisdom, and the Dragon Vein is believed to be a mysterious place that carries these powers.
We reached the starting point of the Dragon Vein—an ancient temple. The temple was hidden among the mountains, shrouded in mist, resembling a paradise on earth.
In the tranquil courtyard of the old temple, Jack and I stood before a white-haired monk. His gaze was profound, as if he could see through all the mysteries of the world.
I humbly asked, "Master, we have come from afar hoping to find fragments related to the Dragon Vein. Can you guide us?"
The old monk was silent for a moment before slowly speaking, his voice carrying the weight of time:
"The young travelers, I knew you would come here. I can sense the fate you carry. The Dragon Vein is the gathering place of spiritual energy from the Central Plains of China, and its fragments contain ancient power."
Jack said, "Master, we truly need to find this fragment. The future of the world may depend on it. Can you tell us where it is hidden?"
The old monk nodded, his gaze penetrating us as if he were looking back through a thousand years:
"In ancient times, the power of the Dragon Vein was discovered by a wise man who sealed it within an Imperial Tomb. This Imperial Tomb lies hidden deep within the mountains, forgotten by time; only true heirs can find its entrance."
I then asked, "Master, how can we become these heirs?"
The old monk smiled slightly and took out an ancient scroll from his wide sleeves, handing it to me:
"This scroll contains a map to the Imperial Tomb and methods to unlock its seal. But remember, guarding the Imperial Tomb are not only mechanisms and traps but also the Heroic Spirit of an ancient warrior who will test whether you are worthy to inherit this power."
Jack said, "We will be careful. Thank you for your guidance, Master."
The old monk replied, "Go forth, young travelers. Time is passing; the fate of the world rests in your hands. May wisdom and courage accompany you on your journey."
Jack and I bowed deeply to the old monk before turning to leave the temple.
Under the monk's guidance, Jack and I embarked on our journey to find the Dragon Vein Fragment. Following the map on the scroll, we traversed rugged mountain paths until we finally arrived at an ancient Imperial Tomb. The Imperial Tomb was concealed by dense jungle, as if cut off from the world; only a winding stone staircase led up to its massive stone door.
Stone statues flanked both sides of the staircase; with each few steps we took, beams of light shot from their eyes. Only by triggering them in the correct order could we pass safely; otherwise, traps would be activated.
I carefully observed the arrangement of the statues and angles of light and realized they were related to the ancient Bagua Formation. Using my understanding of Bagua, I led Jack step by step safely through the maze.
Upon entering the tomb passageway, the ground was made up of special stone slabs; only by maintaining balance could we avoid triggering flip traps.
I had Jack observe the vibration patterns of the slabs first; then we tiptoed through them like walking on a tightrope to maintain our balance.
The walls on either side of the passageway were covered with small holes; once an intruder entered, mechanisms would trigger and shoot a rain of arrows.
I noticed a faint sound of wind coming from the walls and deduced the trajectory of arrow fire. At that moment when arrows were launched, Jack and I quickly ducked into a recess to evade deadly attacks.
Before entering the main tomb chamber, we encountered an area filled with mist; this was noted on the scroll as being full of illusions that would confuse one's sense of direction.
I took out my specially designed glasses, which can filter out specific spectrums, allowing us to see through the illusions in the mist. Guided by the Navigator, we successfully navigated through the fog.
After overcoming all the mechanisms and traps, we finally arrived at the main tomb chamber. In the center of the chamber lay the Jade Coffin, and above it was the glowing Dragon Vein Fragment. However, just as we were about to take the fragment, the Jade Coffin slowly opened, and a Heroic Spirit of the Samurai clad in ancient armor rose from within.
Heroic Spirit: "Halt your steps, ignorant intruders. You are not worthy of wielding the power of the Dragon Vein!"
