Zhe Zhe encountered Zou Tiao again at Zhao Jingze's wedding.
She originally didn't want to go, but Zou Tiao personally delivered the invitation and threatened her with her job: "Your classmate is starting a company, it's not easy. You wouldn't want us to deal with her, would you?"
Si Zhe Zhe thought he was also a Rogue.
However, he admitted it himself; after all, you can't reason with a Rogue, so she had no choice but to go.
Zou Tiao's past friends had gradually settled down and started families. Everyone thought he would be the first to get married, but unexpectedly, even Zhao Jingze had found stability, while he remained single.
He didn't bring a partner, and Zhe Zhe came alone as well. Many familiar faces from the past were present at the wedding, their curious gazes occasionally sweeping over. Zhe Zhe pretended not to see them.
Zou Tiao walked over and said, "No partners? Want to team up?"
It was at this moment that she saw A Wu again.
A Wu approached holding a child, and Zou Tiao instinctively positioned himself between them: "What are you doing?"
He looked tense, as if she were a fierce beast; he felt precarious enough already, and another blow could bury him for good.
A Wu chuckled and looked at Zhe Zhe, saying, "Long time no see. I thought you weren't coming back."
Years ago, when she was rejected by Zou Tiao, she was furious and gave Zhe Zhe the video of Zou Tiao gambling with someone. Although she didn't particularly like Zou Tiao, how could she not seek revenge after being humiliated?
She had no regrets about that incident even now. Even when Zhe Zhe angrily splashed her with coffee after watching the video, she thought nothing of it; instead, she admired his courage—at least he wasn't a coward. Later on, when Zhe Zhe left Zou Tiao, it only made her feel more vindicated.
Zou Tiao watched A Wu whispering to Zhe Zhe on the balcony with a fierce gaze, feeling anxious. What if this woman plotted against him?
Zhao Jingze found it amusing to see him so flustered, like an ant on a hot pan. "I really don't know what to say about you. Is there any situation that could be worse than what you're in now? A Wu might even turn things around for you."
Zou Tiao replied, "Enough already. I embarrassed her, and she would love to see me suffer."
On the other side, A Wu noticed Zou Tiao's expression and scoffed, "Look at how anxious he is. Do you think your worth compares to mine, or that you're prettier than me?"
Zhe Zhe couldn't be bothered to argue with her. She still wasn't used to their circle, and sometimes their lack of decorum was both laughable and frustrating.
"I originally wanted to have someone take care of you, but considering you spilled coffee on me, I'll let you and Zou Tiao figure it out."
Their grudges boiled down to just a cup of coffee.
"What do you want from me?"
A Wu said, "He's been quite well-behaved these past few years, without any women around him. Honestly, I feel a bit sorry for him. Since you're also looking for a match, why not find someone like him? Who knows, he might treat you like a queen in the future."
Zhe Zhe: "..."
As if she were unwanted.
However, Zou Tiao truly hadn't given up. Recently, he had been pursuing her at the company. He always knew how to maintain boundaries and didn't make things difficult for her in front of their colleagues. He wasn't aggressive but often resorted to self-deprecating tactics.
Zhe Zhe rubbed his temples; his car had parked outside her building again last night.
When the bride tossed the bouquet, it was as if her head had eyes, and she threw the bouquet directly to Zhe Zhe. After throwing it, she smiled brightly at Zhao Jingze, saying, "Zhao Jingze, I threw the bouquet to A Tiao's girlfriend just like you suggested."
Zhao Jingze was at a loss whether to laugh or cry.
Zhe Zhe pretended not to hear, holding the bouquet in his hands and thinking about the days they spent together, a smile gradually forming at the corners of his mouth.
There were many entertainment activities at the wedding. After the newlyweds finished their performance, it was time for the audience to take the stage. Zou Tiao was clearly well-prepared and sang a song called "Legend."
"Just because I glanced at you in the crowd, I can never forget your face. Dreaming that one day we might meet by chance, from then on I began to miss you alone..."
The crowd started to cheer, and Zou Tiao looked at her, quietly finishing the song while the crowd fell silent.
Unknowingly, tears welled up in her eyes amidst the crowd.
She sat quietly in the audience while he stood quietly on stage, yet they both felt closer than ever.
Some feelings are not just words; some bonds he only wishes to share with her.
If mere words cannot convince you, then I will say nothing and show you instead.
