I sat down on a chair in the corridor and called the police directly. People like that scum should be locked up. Since Lin Xiao couldn't make a decision, I would take on the role of the bad guy. Scum like him, who only brings harm to others and contributes nothing to society, deserves to be imprisoned. 0

"I want to report a crime. Someone hurt my friend, and she is still in the intensive care unit." 0
"Which hospital are you at?" 0
"New Dream First Hospital." 0
There was silence on the other end for a moment. "Is this regarding Ms. Lin Xiao's case? Someone has already reported it. We were the ones who took Ms. Lin to the hospital. Please hold on; we have a colleague at the hospital who will speak with you." 0

Not long after hanging up, two police officers approached me. 0
From them, I learned what had happened. After Lin Gang sold me off, he went home after enjoying himself outside. Lin Xiao asked him what he had done with me. When she found out I had been sold into loan sharking, she demanded that Lin Gang return the money, but how could he give back what was in his pocket? 0

The two then got into an argument, and even after being beaten, Lin Xiao refused to back down, insisting that Lin Gang repay her. The commotion was too loud, and a neighbor called the police. 0
"What about Lin Gang?" I asked. "Is he not handling the hospitalization procedures?" 0
"He ran away," one of the officers said helplessly. "Knowing that the neighbor reported it, he used excessive force, twisted Lin Xiao's arm, knocked her unconscious, and fled. We have already issued a warrant for him." 0

"Thank you, officer. If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know." I hoped that scumbag would be caught soon. 0
"It’s our duty. If Ms. Lin wakes up, please notify us; we still need her statement. We hope you understand." 0
After I agreed, the officers left. 0

Thinking about the Judgment Alliance, I decided to visit their headquarters; perhaps I could obtain medicine to save Lin Xiao. I also wanted to see if the Grand Elder was that person. 0

With my enhanced abilities, I entered Alliance Headquarters effortlessly. 0
"Is the tail cleaned up?" A cold male voice echoed from around the corner. 0
It was Zhou Shu. 0
My heart sank in surprise as I casually entered a nearby room. Listening to the footsteps fade away outside, I didn't relax; instead, my heart grew heavier. Zhou Shu was in cahoots with those in black clothing. 0

No wonder I feel summoned. 0
It is to meet Zhou Shu. 0
No wonder whenever we escape, we are always seen through; the maze and illusions lose their effect. We are always found by the men in black, unable to shake them off. 0
No wonder after we return home, I am blocked from entering the dream realm. 0
It is to force me into a desperate situation, to tightly grasp the clues about the gymnasium. 0
So they can follow their plan to obtain the problematic Phantom Bone. 0
A light laugh came from behind me. 0
I was startled and immediately turned around. 0
"What are you doing, little one?" 0
I am already twenty, not a little kid anymore, but looking at the other person's age... 0
Forget it, a little kid is still a little kid. 0
"Nothing, I took a wrong turn." 0
The old man didn’t mind my nonsense and laughed heartily: "You’re still so interesting." 0
"You know me!" 0
The old man brushed his hand across my forehead. A wave of coolness washed over me. 0
Holy crap, my ancestor. 0
This is my Ancestor, my grandfather's father. 0
"Hello, Ancestor!" I said, feeling quite frustrated as I took a closer look. 0
I widened my eyes, " Ancestor, you..." 0
"Figured it out." 0
"Yes." The mysterious person who has helped me several times. 0
In the end, I obtained quite a bit of medicine and some tools without much risk. 0
All given by Ancestor. 0
It is a bounty that I haven’t had in years of fighting alone. 0
I have a position in the alliance now, Third-Rank Illusionist. 0
This makes me sigh... 0
Having backing is indeed sweet. 0
After getting the medicine, I bid farewell to Ancestor and returned to the hospital; saving lives is the most important thing. 0
I will find another opportunity to ask Ancestor later. 0

With the secret medicine, Lin Xiao recovered quickly. 0

Three days later, she woke up. 0

When she opened her eyes and saw me, she excitedly hugged me and cried. I was at a loss for how to comfort her. Once her emotions stabilized, I learned what had happened. 0

It turned out she did it for me. She had seen her father come home and learned from him that I had been sold to a loan shark. This led to an argument between her and Lin Gang. She wanted Lin Gang to take out the money for me, but Lin Gang refused. They ended up fighting. 0

I teased, "Not calling him father anymore!" 0

Lin Xiao pursed her lips and let out a long sigh. 0

"He's not a father; he's a beast." 0

Thinking back to the scene where Lin Gang tried to force himself on Lin Xiao to pressure me, I echoed, "Right, a beast." 0

After Lin Xiao felt better, she went home to find the household registration book and property deed. Originally, Lin Gang had hidden them well, but with my help, that was no problem at all. The property deed was in Lin Xiao's name; it had been transferred to her when her grandmother passed away. Otherwise, it would have been sold off by Lin Gang long ago. 0

I helped Lin Xiao pack her things as we looked for another place to live. She planned to sell this house and start anew. After all, some people do not deserve to be called family. 0

With Lin Xiao's matters settled, I began working at the Alliance. With my ancestors watching over me, everything went smoothly. 0

As I stepped into the hall, I sensed an unusual atmosphere. Zhou Shu stood not far away, his ambition evident in his gaze. Our eyes met. 0

"Long time no see!" 0
"Long time no see!" 0
I noticed a complex emotion in his gaze that I couldn't quite understand. 0
"You've gotten stronger." 0
"You've gotten stronger too." 0
We exchanged smiles. 0
Then, I turned and left. 0
The Judgment Alliance is more complicated than I imagined. 0
I initially thought it was just an organization made up of Dream Judges with the same goals. 0
But I didn't expect there to be power struggles here. 0
Ambitious individuals seek to control more power and expand their influence. 0
The guardians wish to maintain the balance of dreams and prevent external forces from intruding. 0
I'm not sure which faction Zhou Shu belongs to. 0
But his approach towards me is calculated; I can no longer be completely unguarded around him. 0
Life may be troublesome, but there are also things worth celebrating—Lin Gang has been captured. 0
During a cold war in our relationship, I went out for some fun and encountered a few people bullying a child. With my overflowing sense of justice, I had to step in to help. 0
The result was that I ended up fighting the smaller ones first, then the older ones. 0
After dealing with the older ones, I thought it was over. 0
But that group of rascals called in more people to block me—an overwhelming number, too many to count. 0
So, I ran away. 0
After escaping, I used a disguise item to return unnoticed. 0
I needed to find a breakthrough; otherwise, being constantly blocked by these people would be too annoying and time-consuming. 0
"Just this coward? You called us here for him!" the leader scolded. 0
The man being scolded looked frustrated. 0
"Everyone needs to behave lately; if you mess up the master's big plans, you'll regret it!" the leader warned everyone. "Now disperse." 0
I followed the leader to a small villa, but there were detectors at the entrance, making it hard to get in. 0
After waiting outside for two hours, I finally found an opportunity and sneaked in with a delivery truck. 0
I hid and dodged around until I entered the study; I searched every hiding spot but found nothing. 0
Just then, someone walked in. 0

I hid in the corner, listening to the conversation between the two. There was an order from above to attack the Alliance... What... My stomach growled. The air fell silent for a moment. 0

"Who?" With a loud shout, a projectile came flying toward me. I barely dodged it and quickly retreated. Outside, alarms blared, and people were in a frenzy. 0

"Boss, what should we do?" 0

"Gather everyone immediately; we need to move up the plan." 0

I evaded the pursuit. A powerful force swept through the entire Judgment Alliance. I saw thick smoke rising and headed straight for the Alliance, leaving the others behind. When I arrived, chaos reigned as battles erupted everywhere, and I joined the fray. 0

"Watch out!" I lunged forward to block an attack, and Zhou Shu barely managed to evade it. 0

"Thank you for saving me!" 0

"Who saved you? I just couldn't stand him!" I brushed past Zhou Shu, attacking our opponent and unleashing all my pent-up frustration on him. 0

With a squelch, I heard the sound of a sword piercing flesh and turned to see Zhou Shu blocking for me. I quickly spun around and pulled him away from the battlefield. "Damn it, why did you block for me?" 0

"Helping a brother." 0

I was taken aback for a moment before realizing, "You deceive my feelings and call me brother? Screw you." 0

"If I'm not your brother, then why are you following me to Alliance Headquarters?" 0

"You think I'm doing this for you?" This guy must be so full of himself. 0

"Brother, shouldn't it be this way?" This typical self-assured guy. 0

Seeing his handsome face, well, he’s not quite at the level of being just an average guy. At least he has looks. He’s not bad in a fight and has some skills. Plus, he’s the Elder; I mean, he has power too. Someone like him has the confidence to be a bit narcissistic, and it’s not particularly off-putting. 0

"Hehe." Zhou Shu chuckled softly. 0

"What are you laughing at?" 0

"I'm laughing at you for being tough on the outside but soft on the inside." 0

"I..." 0

I did help him; if it weren't for my intervention just now, he wouldn't have easily dodged that attack. 0

"You see, you admit it." 0

After taking him to the rescue center, I sighed and said, "You should rest well." The battle outside was still ongoing, and I had to go back. The situation was urgent; there was no time for banter. We could argue later once everything was over. After giving him a fierce glare, I left, with Zhou Shu laughing heartily behind me. In his eyes, I had lost and fled in defeat. 0
