"Another one?"
I nodded and posed, when suddenly Shen Yulin leaned in closer. I turned my head, and his lips met mine just as the shutter clicked.
I felt a sense of understanding and harmony between us, as if at that moment, the distance between us had closed even further.
After taking the photos, he smiled and handed me the camera to take a look. I picked it up and flipped through the pictures, seeing the beautiful moments we had captured together, a wave of warmth and satisfaction surged within me.
After descending the mountain, we arrived at a local specialty restaurant. The entrance was adorned with rustic bamboo lanterns that emitted a faint wooden aroma mixed with the scent of food. As we walked in, a cozy atmosphere enveloped us; the walls were decorated with handmade folk art, and outside the window was a serene view of green mountains and clear waters.
Once seated, Shen Yulin skillfully ordered several local dishes, including delicious wild game and refreshing spring water. The restaurant's comfortable environment lifted our spirits, making it feel like we were in a hidden paradise in the mountains.
Accompanied by delightful food, we chatted joyfully, sharing our joys and sorrows. Cheng Haifeng's humor and Shen Yulin's attentiveness made me feel an unusual comfort and warmth; our conversation was not just an exchange of feelings but also a collision and blending of souls.
After finishing our meal, Zhang Yun and I strolled on the terrace outside the restaurant, enjoying the fresh mountain air and the enchanting sunset.
"Your relationship has been progressing rapidly lately," Zhang Yun teased.
"And you with Cheng Haifeng?"
"That big fool? Forget it!" Zhang Yun leaned dejectedly against the railing.
"What do you mean?"
"Stars, we're not like you two. My future looks bleak."
"We're not that great either; we're always lacking proper recognition."
The two girls looked sorrowfully at the distant hidden paradise in silence.
...
Inside the room, Shen Yulin looked out the window and turned to ask, "How are things with Zhang Yun?"
"Zhang Yun? What about her?" Cheng Haifeng replied, looking confused.
"Cut the act; don't you like her?"
"Well, it's better not to break through that thin layer."
"Coward," Shen Yulin scoffed at Cheng Haifeng.
"Don't criticize me; you're no different—sitting on your throne without taking action."
"I'm different from you."
Cheng Haifeng looked at the two boys with disdain, and they exchanged glances of mutual dislike.
At night, we decided to find a simple wooden cabin to stay in, enjoying a night of tranquility in the mountains. The cabin was hidden deep within the woods, surrounded by dense tree cover and a mountain stream, peaceful and elegant.
As we entered the cabin, a faint scent of wood greeted us. The simple decor exuded a natural atmosphere, providing a sense of comfort and relaxation. Inside the cabin, there was an old wooden table and several wooden chairs. The walls were adorned with landscape paintings, and in the corners were some green plants and potted flowers, with a light scent of pine filling the fresh air.
In this mountainous area, we distanced ourselves from the noise and troubles of the world, simply enjoying the tranquility and harmony of the mountains. In the evening, the four of us gathered inside the cabin, lit candles, savored local delicacies, shared our thoughts, and exchanged joy and emotions.
As night fell, stars twinkled outside the window, and moonlight spilled through the forest, creating a mysterious yet warm atmosphere. We sat quietly in the cabin, listening to the sounds of insects and the wind in the mountains, relishing the peace and beauty of this woodland.
"Stars, shall we sing?"
