At two in the morning, outside the "After" nightclub, Jiang Yuan stumbled out, already a bit drunk. She stood by the roadside for a moment, feeling the breeze, and was about to call for a ride when she suddenly spotted a familiar figure.
The man leaned against the car door, a cigarette pinched between his fingers. It had burned down to almost nothing, yet he hadn't taken a single puff. Jiang Yuan watched him quietly for a moment, and an impulse surged within her. She wanted revenge.
Jiang Yuan walked over, opened the car door, and sat inside. Feng Hongyang looked down at her, somewhat surprised.
"Mr. Feng," Jiang Yuan turned to him and asked, "Can I stay at your place for one night?"
Feng Hongyang paused for a moment before narrowing his eyes. "Do you know what you're saying?"
"Of course," Jiang Yuan replied calmly.
"Reason."
"I don't want to go back."
"Don't want to go back?" Feng Hongyang smirked. "Where's your home?"
"In the urban village."
"What's wrong with the urban village?"
"The urban village is fine," Jiang Yuan tilted her head to look at Feng Hongyang, "but I don't want to go back."
"Why?"
"They're too disgusting."
"Who?"
"The aunt who married my dad and her daughter."
"Oh." Feng Hongyang nodded and didn't press further. Jiang Yuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief. She didn't want to go home because of Chu Hong and Wang Li, but more so because of Wang Ming.
Jiang Yuan didn't want Feng Hongyang to know about her relationship with Wang Ming. "Mr. Feng," she leaned slightly forward, getting closer to him, "just for one night."
The girl exhaled softly; her breath brushed lightly against Feng Hongyang's ear as she spoke. He felt a slight tremor in his heart and unconsciously swallowed hard. Jiang Yuan caught that fleeting change in him and a subtle smile curved her lips.
She reached out her hand, her fingertips gently brushing against the man's collar.
"Mr. Feng," Jiang Yuan's voice was soft, carrying a hint of seduction, "I can pay."
"Pay?" Feng Hongyang lowered his gaze, watching the girl's fingertips glide over his chest. "How will you pay?"
"What do you want me to do?"
"With your body?"
"If you wish."
"Little girl," Feng Hongyang grasped the girl's wrist, "do you often do this?"
"Of course not."
Jiang Yuan placed her other hand on Feng Hongyang's shoulder, leaning in as her red lips brushed against the man's earlobe.
"I've only done this with you."
The man's heart skipped a beat, and in the next moment, he abruptly pushed open the car door.
"Get out."
Jiang Yuan was momentarily stunned, still processing what had happened when she heard Feng Hongyang say again, "Get out!"
Jiang Yuan didn't move, and Feng Hongyang directly got out of the car.
Sitting inside the car, Jiang Yuan watched the man's back, feeling a surge of unwillingness.
She waited for ten minutes; Feng Hongyang did not return. Jiang Yuan took out her phone, preparing to call a ride service.
Before she could dial, the car door opened again, and Feng Hongyang sat back inside, glancing at Jiang Yuan.
"Address."
Jiang Yuan was taken aback for a moment before quickly stating the name of a hotel.
Feng Hongyang said nothing more and instructed the driver to start the car.
Forty minutes later, the car stopped in front of the hotel.
Feng Hongyang got out, and Jiang Yuan followed closely behind as they entered the elevator together.
There were only two people in the elevator; Feng Hongyang kept his head down and did not look at Jiang Yuan.
The elevator ascended slowly, and the atmosphere was eerily quiet.
With a ding, the elevator arrived at their floor.
Feng Hongyang stepped out first, and Jiang Yuan silently followed him.
At the door of their room, Feng Hongyang took out his ID card, but Jiang Yuan stopped him and presented her own ID card instead.
"Use mine," she said.
Feng Hongyang looked at her as Jiang Yuan explained, "Using mine can save some money."
Feng Hongyang said nothing and took back the ID card.
After swiping the card to enter the room, before Jiang Yuan could turn on the lights, she was pressed against the wall and kissed by the man.
Jiang Yuan did not struggle; instead, she responded passionately as their breaths intertwined, and the atmosphere instantly became heated.
That night, Jiang Yuan was fully cooperative, and the two became entangled, lost in each other.
The next morning, when Jiang Yuan woke up, Feng Hongyang was still asleep. She didn't wake him, got dressed, and left the hotel with her bag. She took a taxi straight to the company, preparing for the morning team meeting.
When Jin Yun saw Jiang Yuan, she immediately approached her with a curious smile. "Xiao Yuan, where did you go last night?"
"I didn't go anywhere," Jiang Yuan replied.
"Are you lying to me?" Jin Yun huffed. "I called you yesterday, and a man answered, saying you were in the shower and would call me back later. I waited for a long time but never heard from you. He said you had already gone to sleep and told me to find you today."
Jiang Yuan thought for a moment and said, "I went to 'After' yesterday."
"'After'?" Jin Yun's eyes widened. "What were you doing there?"
"Just hanging out with friends."
"Oh." Jin Yun responded but suddenly realized something. "Wait a minute, you went to 'After' yesterday? When did you come back?"
"Last night," Jiang Yuan said.
"Last night?" Jin Yun frowned. "Then why weren't you around when I called?"
"I was in the shower."
"In the shower?" Jin Yun blinked. "With who?"
"By myself," Jiang Yuan replied without changing her expression.
"By yourself?" Jin Yun looked skeptical. "You took a shower and let someone else answer your phone?"
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"My phone was dead."
"Then you—"
"I was in a hurry," Jiang Yuan interrupted her. "I need to go upstairs first."
"Hey, you—" Jin Yun wanted to ask more, but Jiang Yuan had already turned and walked away.
Jin Yun watched Jiang Yuan's retreating figure and huffed, "So mysterious; there must be something going on."
As soon as Jiang Yuan entered the building, she ran into Lu Yuan. The man was casually dressed and holding car keys while looking around.
Jiang Yuan initially intended to pretend she didn't see him, but Lu Yuan had already spotted her.
"Hey, Xiao Jiang," Lu Yuan approached with a smile.
Jiang Yuan had no choice but to stop. "President Lu."
"Xiao Jiang," Lu Yuan glanced behind her. "Why are you alone? Where's Jin Yun?"
"She's still behind."
"Oh," Lu Yuan replied, then asked, "Where did you go yesterday?"
"Nowhere," Jiang Yuan said.
"Nowhere?" Lu Yuan snorted, "Then why did a man answer Jin Yun's phone?"
"I don't know," Jiang Yuan said.
"You don't know?" Lu Yuan looked skeptical, "Aren't you supposed to be together?"
"I didn't go," Jiang Yuan said.
"You didn't go?" Lu Yuan frowned, "Then where did you go last night?"
"I went home," Jiang Yuan said.
"You went home?" Lu Yuan stared at Jiang Yuan for a moment, then suddenly laughed, "If you went home, why didn't you let Jin Yun answer the phone?"
"Her phone was dead."
"Dead?" Lu Yuan looked unconvinced, "Then why didn't you let her charge it?"
"She can charge it herself," Jiang Yuan said.
"Charge it herself?" Lu Yuan snorted again, "Then why didn't you say something to her?"
"I did," Jiang Yuan said.
"You did?" Lu Yuan frowned, "Then why didn't she tell me?"
"I don't know," Jiang Yuan said.
"You don't know?" Lu Yuan stared at Jiang Yuan for a moment, then suddenly laughed, "If you don't know, then who does?"
"You can ask her," Jiang Yuan said.
"I ask her?" Lu Yuan snorted, "If I could ask her, why would I ask you?"
Jiang Yuan didn't want to talk to him any longer and replied dismissively, "Then just wait for her to come back and ask."
After saying that, Jiang Yuan turned and walked away.
"Hey, you—" Lu Yuan wanted to ask again, but Jiang Yuan had already entered the elevator.
Lu Yuan stood in place, watching the elevator doors close, and coldly snorted, "Little girl, daring to hide things from me."
As Jiang Yuan went upstairs and just entered the office, she heard Li Xin say, "Xiao Yuan, Mr. Feng is looking for you."
