Fenghuang Village is not far from City A police station. Twenty minutes later, Zheng Yi and the other members of the criminal investigation team arrived at the location where Liu Wang disappeared. It had been two hours since Liu Wang vanished from the surveillance. Night had fallen, and the eerie full moon hung low in the sky. Cold crows flew by, emitting eerie cries, adding a touch of strangeness to the already desolate night. Apart from the few streetlights on the sides of the road, there were no other sources of light around, and everything lay quietly in the darkness. Zheng Yi stepped out of the car and swept the area with a flashlight. Everywhere he looked, there were dense cornfields, reaching the height of an adult male. If someone was hiding in there, they would be impossible to spot. 0

"Liu Wang and the villagers of Fenghuang Village have never had any connection, and she had never been here before she disappeared... Why would a newly graduated female college student come to such a strange and dangerous place..." murmured Zheng Yi. 0
He looked up at the location of the surveillance camera, which was located just outside the convenience store. This convenience store was the only place within several kilometers that sold daily necessities, and most of the villagers of Fenghuang Village would come here to shop. In theory, they should be very familiar with the layout of this store. In addition, there were no obstructions around the surveillance camera, making it very easy for people to notice. 0
Why would the kidnappers choose a location for the abduction that falls within the range of the surveillance camera? Wouldn't this make it easier for the police to find them? 0

Zheng Yi couldn't help but raise a meaningful smile. Either the suspect was too careless, or the suspect intentionally wanted the police to see the process of the crime... Zheng Yi believed it was clearly the latter. 0

He strode forward in the direction where the suspect had disappeared, with his team following closely behind. The team advanced silently on the gloomy road, surrounded by nothing but silence, as if the darkness was about to engulf everything. 0

The group arrived at a fork in the road, where the cement road met the gravel road. "Captain Zheng, we're about to enter Fenghuang Village," Yang Huai reminded softly. This gravel road was the only way for Fenghuang Village to connect with the outside world. 0

"Um, everyone stay close and don't fall behind." Compared to the daytime, the night in Fenghuang Village is even more eerie. After walking down the rugged stone path for a long time, the sides of the road are still lined with corn trees at human height, and there are no buildings around, nor any signs of human habitation. Dim moonlight spills over the silent cornfield, casting scattered shadows as if wandering souls on the ground. The flashlight's beam cuts through the stone path and the thick darkness, and the group mechanically moves forward in the direction of the light source. 0

I don't know how long it has been, a team member trembled and asked, "Captain Zheng, could it be that we are lost? We have been walking along this path into the village for so long..." As soon as he spoke, the other team members quietly tightened their weapons by their sides. "No, follow me, we won't go wrong," Zheng Yi said in a low voice in the night. When they first entered the village, Zheng Yi vaguely felt that something was wrong. This strange feeling did not come from the eerie layout of the village, but from an invisible thread that extended from a certain direction to his heart, pulling him towards that direction. 0

Zheng Yi attempted to break free from the constraints of this line. At a certain intersection, he once went against the direction indicated by this line, but suddenly felt intense discomfort in his chest, making it difficult for him to move forward. He had no choice but to return to the road planned by this line. 0

It's really interesting, Zheng Yi covered his slightly painful chest. 0

"Hey! Look, there's a light ahead!" 0

"Yeah, that's right, those are the houses where the villagers live! Captain Zheng, you're amazing. The brothers from the other teams searched many times but couldn't find this village, they were just circling around the outskirts!" 0
The group moved closer to the source of light, and the full view of the village gradually appeared in front of everyone. Joyful smiles appeared on everyone's faces, but Zheng Yi couldn't help but widen his pupils, his handsome face filled with confusion. 0
Why... why does this village seem so familiar, yet I've never been to Fenghuang Village before... 0
