Seeing me stunned and unresponsive, Shen Yulin took the ring and gently slid it onto my finger. The diamond sparkled, instantly illuminating my face. "Mrs. Shen, from now on, you are my star, and I will always protect you," he said affectionately.
I was so moved that my eyes welled up with tears. I also put the ring on him, our fingers intertwined as I felt Shen Yulin's love. In that moment, I understood the true meaning of happiness.
My heart was filled with a rich and joyful delight, as if I were wrapped in soft clouds, making me feel like I could float away. Immersed in this wonderful feeling, I didn’t even realize how I got home. It wasn't until I heard Tang Tang's loud cries that I snapped back to reality, hurriedly picking her up and walking into the room.
Once inside, I prepared to feed the baby as usual, but just before I was about to do so, I suddenly remembered the ring still on my hand. Worried that it might accidentally prick the baby's delicate skin while feeding her, I quickly and carefully took it off and placed it on the bedside table.
At that moment, Shen Yulin also walked into the room. He immediately noticed the ring on the bedside table; his smile faded, and his expression turned slightly gloomy as he pouted and said, "Wife, we just got married not long ago. Why have you taken off your ring so soon? Do you no longer love me?" Hearing this made me unable to hold back a laugh.
I quickly explained, "You... what are you thinking? The reason I took off the ring is just because I'm afraid of accidentally hurting the baby while feeding her."
He gently took our daughter from my arms after she had finished eating and placed her softly in her crib. Then he turned around and quickly walked up to me, pulling me into a tight embrace. He then picked up the ring from the bedside table and solemnly put it back on my finger before lowering his head to seal my lips with a passionate kiss. It wasn’t until I felt weak all over and could barely breathe that Shen Yulin finally released me; however, his gaze grew even more intense, with a burning desire nearly consuming me. His deep and magnetic voice brushed against my ear like a feather: "Dear wife, tonight is our wedding night..."
Hearing this made my face flush instantly as I shyly buried my head deeper into his warm embrace. He then lightly bit my sensitive earlobe and whispered in my ear, "Tonight, make sure to get the baby to sleep early, okay?" I nodded slightly in agreement. "Mm." My voice was barely above a whisper.
"Then you stay with the baby for now; I'll step out to discuss wedding arrangements with Uncle." After saying this, he left the room. I covered my flushed face, my heart racing uncontrollably. Everything felt like a dream; yet the ring on my finger and the deep affection in Shen Yulin's eyes constantly reminded me that all of this was real. I picked up my phone and called Zhang Yun, eager to share how I felt at that moment. When the call connected, Zhang Yun's exaggerated voice came through: "Mrs. Shen, on such a big day, you still have time to call me?"
