After leaving the rental apartment, Yan Jien walked along West Lake Street towards West Lake Park. Along the way, Yan Jien paid attention to the urine marking points on the grass and trees by the roadside. 0

"Hmm?" Yan Jien suddenly noticed something strange. A middle-aged man was walking his dog, and when the bulldog passed by one of Yan Jien's urine marking points, it deliberately avoided it and ran to another tree a few meters away to urinate. 0

"Could it be that my urine marking points have this effect?" Yan Jien was surprised. Soon after, he noticed several other dogs exhibiting similar behavior. 0

"It seems that my urine contains some component that makes ordinary dogs afraid," Yan Jien speculated. The presence of his urine marking points caused other dogs to hesitate in challenging his authority, making it difficult for Yan Jien to experience that feeling of transformation. 0

"From now on, unless necessary, I won't mark my territory at night," Yan Jien thought. For him at this moment, the only way to experience the feeling of transformation was to challenge beings stronger than himself. Only by defeating them could he become stronger! 0

After patrolling his territory, Yan Jien went to work at the company. Having just returned from vacation, he felt somewhat out of place. 0

"Why is it so noisy?" Yan Jien frowned. His colleagues were discussing something, but he couldn't make out the specifics—only vague sounds reached his ears. 0

"It seems that having too keen hearing isn't necessarily a good thing," Yan Jien rubbed his temples. To fully control his hearing, he needed to train his brain! But how could he exercise his brain? 0

Yan Jien opened his computer and searched for methods to train the brain. There were many results: playing games, solving math problems, doing practice questions, and even methods specifically for seniors. 0

"Counting Breath Focused Meditation Method?" Yan Jien's gaze landed on one piece of information. Counting Breath Meditation is an ancient meditation technique based on observing the number of breaths to achieve inner focus and purify the mind. Focused meditation is an extension of Counting Breath Meditation; in addition to counting breaths, one must also visualize an object in their mind and concentrate on it. 0

"Let's give this a try," Yan Jien said as he got started. Following an online tutorial, Deng Kaiwen began meditating. Just as he entered a meditative state, he was interrupted by a colleague's voice. 0

"Try again!" 0

The second time, he was interrupted by a knock on the door. 0

"Continue!" 0

For the third time, just after meditating for a few seconds, he was interrupted by his phone ringing. 0

"......" 0

He had tried several times, each time disrupted by various unexpected events. 0

"Indeed, meditation is not that easy," Yan Jien thought. 0

"However, in a way, meditation is similar to exercising the body; it is a workout for the brain, just as exercising the body is a workout for the muscles." 0

"Since exercising the body is effective, then exercising the brain must also be effective!" 0

With this realization, Yan Jien no longer fixated on whether he could successfully meditate; instead, he treated it as a form of exercise, trying again and again, persisting each time. 0

Unknowingly, the entire morning passed. 0

"Alright, time to eat." Yan Jien stretched. 0

After packing food for Yan Weila, Yan Jien went to a nearby pharmacy to buy medicine. 0

While paying, an idea suddenly struck him. 0

"Boss, I've left the money here." Deng Kaiwen placed a handful of coins on the counter and then closed his eyes. 0

"Okay." The boss took the coins. 0

A few seconds later, Deng Kaiwen opened his eyes. 0

"One fifty-cent coin and three ten-cent coins, totaling ninety cents," Yan Jien said. 0

"Wow, that's impressive," the boss exclaimed in surprise. 0

"Hehe, just guessed," Yan Jien smiled as he took the change and turned to leave. 0

"Distinguishing coin denominations by touch requires high concentration; with just a little focus, one can tap into their potential and achieve the goal of training attention," Yan Jien thought. 0

When he returned to his rented room, Yan Weila had just woken up and was washing her face. 0

"Awake?" Yan Jien asked. 0

"Mm." Yan Weila nodded. 0

"I packed food for you and bought the medicine," Yan Jien said. 0

"Thank you," Yan Weila smiled. 0

"You sit down; I'll apply some ice on you," Yan Jien said. 0

"Okay." Yan Weila sat on a stool. 0

Deng Kaiwen placed the ice pack on Yan Weila's ankle and then sprayed some medicine on it. 0

"All done," Yan Jien said. 0

"Thank you," Yan Weila replied. 0

"I'll head back to my room now," Yan Jien said. 0

"Well, I'll call you if something comes up," Yan Weila said. 0
After returning to his room, Yan Jien continued to practice meditation. 0
"The recovery speed has indeed slowed down," Yan Jien frowned. 0
Having only slept for a little over four hours last night and practiced meditation for the entire morning today, he found that not only had his physical strength not recovered, but his agitation had not diminished much either. 0
"It seems that meditation requires a high level of recovery ability," Yan Jien thought. 0
"However, could high-intensity meditation have an effect on losing control?" Yan Jien suddenly considered a possibility. 0
"Let's try and see." Yan Jien began to meditate. 0
A few minutes later, Yan Jien exited the meditative state. 0
"It didn't work," Yan Jien shook his head in disappointment. 0
Meditation could only train the brain and had no effect on losing control. 0
"Perhaps my meditation intensity isn't enough?" Yan Jien pondered. 0
Next, Yan Jien tried two more times but found it still ineffective. 0
"It really doesn't work," Yan Jien reluctantly accepted reality. 0
"I'll take a nap first," Yan Jien lay down on the bed. 0
Having not slept well last night and practiced meditation all morning today, he was utterly exhausted at this point. 0
As soon as he lay down, he fell into a deep sleep. 0
In the afternoon, Yan Jien returned to work. 0
"My physical strength has recovered, but the agitation feels the same as this morning," Yan Jien rubbed his temples. 0
"It seems that high-intensity meditation consumes a lot of mental energy," Yan Jien thought. 0
"From this perspective, to completely control losing control, two conditions must be met." 0
"First, physical fitness must be strong enough to ignore the negative effects of losing control." 0
"Second, sufficient sleep is necessary; only with enough sleep can the agitation diminish quickly." 0
"And I happen to be stuck in between," Yan Jien lamented. 0
