When Li Yanqiu woke up, she found herself lying in a hospital bed. She sat up and felt a wave of weakness wash over her.
"You're awake?" A middle-aged man approached her.
"Captain!" Li Yanqiu quickly scrambled out of bed.
"What happened last night?" Wang Qiming asked.
"I last night..." Li Yanqiu fell into her memories. She recalled that while searching in the park, she had encountered a mutated creature.
"It looked like a rat, but it had wings on its back, sharp teeth, and resembled a bat!" Li Yanqiu described.
"Wings?" Wang Qiming was surprised. He took out his phone, opened the photo gallery, and flipped through several pictures. "Is it something like this?" he asked.
"Yes, that's it!" Li Yanqiu nodded.
"Are you sure?" Wang Qiming's expression turned serious.
"I'm sure!" Li Yanqiu affirmed earnestly.
"It seems there is more than one of these creatures!" Wang Qiming's demeanor became grave.
"Captain, what exactly is going on?" Li Yanqiu asked, puzzled.
"We received reports from the public about mutated creatures in West Lake Park, so I brought Han Li and the others here," he explained. "During our search, we found that the Locator's signal had disappeared, so we split up to look for you."
"Later, I heard noises in the dense forest. When I rushed over, I found you lying on the ground with a dead mutated creature beside you," Wang Qiming continued.
"What? That thing is dead?" Li Yanqiu was shocked.
"Yes, we have already brought the body back," Wang Qiming confirmed with a nod.
"What exactly is that creature?" Li Yanqiu asked curiously.
"It's hard to say right now; the technical department is still examining it," Wang Qiming replied, shaking his head.
"Captain, besides me, who else entered that dense forest last night?" Li Yanqiu inquired.
"Why do you ask?" Wang Qiming looked puzzled.
"I felt like someone had been there before I lost consciousness, but I don't know if they really existed," Li Yanqiu said, confused.
"You mean you might not have been alone last night?" Wang Qiming was astonished.
"I'm not sure," Li Yanqiu shook her head.
"Alright, I understand. I'll apply for a search warrant to conduct a thorough search of that area!" Wang Qiming said seriously.
"Yes!" Li Yanqiu nodded.

Yan Jien woke up and it was already eleven in the morning.
After getting out of bed, he first checked the wound on his index finger.
"3 hours and 48 minutes, completely healed," Yan Jien recorded.
He entered the kitchen, took some pork from the refrigerator, and returned to the living room.
"Crack!"
He cut off a piece of meat and threw it on the floor.
"Hiss!"
The piece of meat decayed at a visible speed, with white maggots growing on it.
Ten minutes later, the meat turned into soil and disappeared.

He picked up a piece of mud and sniffed it; there was no smell at all.
"Do these Mutated Creatures decompose quickly after death, returning to nature?" Yan Jien wondered.
He took out his phone and began searching for information related to corpse decomposition, studying it carefully.
An hour later, he closed the webpage, his eyes revealing a look of realization.

His breathing became slower and lighter.
Half a minute later, his canine teeth and nails began to grow rapidly, transforming into sharp claws. His eyes also changed to an amber color, resembling those of a feline.
"Success!" Yan Jien exclaimed excitedly. He opened his eyes, raised his hands, and looked at his long claws with satisfaction in his gaze.
"3 minutes and 16 seconds," Yan Jien recorded. He stood up and walked to the mirror to examine his eyes.
"These eyes look like those of the legendary divine beasts!" Yan Jien said in surprise. He took out his phone and began searching for information about divine beasts, scrolling for a long time.
"Aren't these divine beasts also mutated creatures?" Yan Jien wondered. He compared images of mythical creatures with those of mutated beings and found many similarities between the two.
"Could it be that I am a mutated creature?" Yan Jien was shocked. He pondered for a moment, and his eyes grew brighter.
"Have mutated creatures appeared before?" Yan Jien asked curiously. He searched for related information and learned that mutated creatures had indeed existed in history but disappeared during the Great Extinction event.
"The Great Extinction? Could it be that they went extinct along with the dinosaurs?" Yan Jien questioned. He searched for the reasons behind the extinction of dinosaurs and found out it was due to an asteroid impact that caused drastic environmental changes.
"It seems that mutated creatures also went extinct like the dinosaurs," Yan Jien sighed. He continued browsing the web and learned that the mutated creatures appearing now are different from those in the past.
"Could it be that the current mutated creatures are re-emerging?" Yan Jien wondered. He searched for more information and discovered that today's mutated creatures differ from those of the past; the former had various magical abilities, while the current ones only exhibit changes in size and strength.
"Could it be that the ancient mutated creatures were the authentic ones?" Yan Jien questioned again. He searched for further details and learned that ancient mutated creatures were born from nature, while today's mutated beings are products of laboratories.
"So I am also an experiment!" Yan Jien realized suddenly.
