After a moment, Chen Wu opened the door. He had just finished showering, his hair was damp, and he looked softer than usual, not as serious as he typically did. Lin Wan's gaze dropped down, and when she saw Chen Wu's bare upper body, she quickly turned her head away.
"I didn't see anything!" Lin Wan hurriedly said.
"It’s fine even if you did," Chen Wu replied with a smile.
"I'm going back now," Lin Wan said as she started to leave.
But Chen Wu grabbed her and pulled her inside. Lin Wan turned around to look at Chen Wu.
"Is there something you need?" Lin Wan asked.
"Are you hungry?" Chen Wu inquired.
"Not hungry," Lin Wan shook her head.
Her eyes fell on Chen Wu's phone; she was curious to see it and wanted to know what secrets he might have. Lin Wan hesitated about whether to just grab it, but that seemed a bit impolite.
Chen Wu seemed to sense her thoughts and asked, "Do you want to play with my phone?"
"No," Lin Wan quickly shook her head.
"Then what are you looking at?" Chen Wu asked.
"I want to see our photos together," Lin Wan said.
"Just send them from your phone," Chen Wu replied.
"Oh." Lin Wan felt a bit disappointed; she had thought Chen Wu would show them to her directly.
Lin Wan took out her phone, added Chen Wu on WeChat, and sent a few photos to him.
"Done," Lin Wan put her phone away.
"Okay," Chen Wu nodded.
"Then I'm going back," Lin Wan said.
"Let's sit for a while longer," Chen Wu said.
"Oh," Lin Wan replied, sitting back down.
The two fell silent, and the atmosphere became a bit awkward.
Lin Wan wanted to find a topic to discuss but didn't know what to say.
Her gaze landed on Chen Wu's phone, and unable to resist her curiosity, she asked, "Can I take a look at your phone?"
"No," Chen Wu replied decisively.
Lin Wan felt a bit deflated but didn't press the issue further.
She looked out the window; it was getting dark, and the lights by the river were dazzling and beautiful.
"Let's go for a walk by the river," Lin Wan suggested.
"Okay," Chen Wu agreed readily.
The two walked out of the hotel and strolled along the riverside.
The river breeze was cool and felt pleasant against their skin.
Lin Wan took a deep breath, feeling refreshed.
"I want ice cream," Chen Wu suddenly said.
"I'll go buy some," Lin Wan volunteered.
"I don't want to move," Chen Wu said, looking at her.
"Then I'll go back and get it," Lin Wan said helplessly.
"Can you grab one for me too?" Chen Wu added.
"..." Lin Wan was a bit speechless but still agreed.
Lin Wan jogged back to the hotel, grabbed two ice creams, and handed one to Chen Wu.
Chen Wu took it, took a bite, and found it cold and sweet.
"Is it good?" Lin Wan asked.
"Yes," Chen Wu nodded.
"Let me have a taste," Lin Wan said.
Chen Wu held the ice cream up to her mouth, and Lin Wan took a bite; it was indeed quite delicious.
"It's quite delicious," Lin Wan said.
"This is what you chose, of course it's good," Chen Wu replied with a smile.
"Aren't you the one who doesn't like sweets?" Lin Wan suddenly remembered.
"Sometimes it's okay to try something new," Chen Wu said.
"Oh," Lin Wan nodded.
The two continued their walk along the riverbank, with Lin Wan eating her ice cream, feeling a strange sensation inside.
When Chen Wu handed her the ice cream earlier, she had a fleeting illusion that they were dating.
Lin Wan secretly glanced at Chen Wu, feeling an inexplicable emotion.
"What's wrong?" Chen Wu noticed her gaze and asked.
"Nothing," Lin Wan quickly shook her head.
She lowered her head and continued eating her ice cream, but her mind was elsewhere.
She thought about the moment when Chen Wu gave her the ice cream, feeling a sense of sweetness in her heart.
"Do you want more?" Chen Wu suddenly asked.
"Huh?" Lin Wan snapped back to reality and saw Chen Wu staring at her.
"I don't want any more," Lin Wan shook her head.
"But I'm still not full," Chen Wu said.
"Then why didn't you let me get two earlier?" Lin Wan asked.
"I was lazy," Chen Wu replied unapologetically.
"..." Lin Wan was somewhat speechless but still brought her ice cream to his mouth.
"Take a bite," Lin Wan said.
Chen Wu didn't hesitate; he opened his mouth and took a bite.
Lin Wan watched him, feeling a strange sensation inside.
It was an odd feeling that she couldn't quite describe, but it wasn't unpleasant.
