Finally down the mountain, Lin Wan was exhausted and sat down on the ground.
"Tired?" Chen Wu approached and squatted down to ask.
"Yeah," Lin Wan nodded.
"I'll help you massage your legs," Chen Wu said.
"No need," Lin Wan quickly refused.
"You have cramps in your legs," Chen Wu pointed out.
"Really?" Lin Wan pulled up her pant leg and indeed saw many cramps on her legs.
"Lie down," Chen Wu instructed.
"What for?" Lin Wan asked in confusion.
"To help you massage your legs," Chen Wu replied.
"No, it's fine," Lin Wan shook her head quickly.
"Hurry up," Chen Wu urged.
"Okay," Lin Wan said helplessly and lay down.
Chen Wu squatted in front of her and began to massage her legs. His technique was very professional, and Lin Wan found it quite comfortable.
"How do you know how to massage?" Lin Wan asked.
"I often cramped up when practicing driving before, so I learned," Chen Wu explained.
"You still practice driving?" Lin Wan was surprised.
"Yeah," Chen Wu nodded.
"Why?" Lin Wan inquired.
"To make money," Chen Wu replied succinctly.
"..." Lin Wan was somewhat speechless.
After finishing with her legs, Chen Wu also massaged her waist. Lin Wan felt much better and stood up.
"Thank you," Lin Wan said gratefully.
"You're welcome," Chen Wu replied.
The two walked back together, and Lin Wan took out her phone to snap a picture of Chen Wu.
Chen Wu turned his head to look at her.
"Let me see the photo," Chen Wu said.
"Wait a moment." Lin Wan opened the photo, glanced at it, and felt quite satisfied.
She handed her phone to Chen Wu, who took it and looked at the picture, his brows slightly furrowed.
"Is it not good?" Lin Wan asked.
"It's okay," Chen Wu replied nonchalantly.
"Just okay?" Lin Wan said, feeling dissatisfied.
She thought she had taken a great shot that captured Chen Wu's charm.
"It's pretty good," Chen Wu said.
"That's more like it," Lin Wan said, feeling pleased.
The two continued walking back and got on the cable car.
Lin Wan looked out at the scenery, feeling a bit reluctant.
She realized she was becoming increasingly dependent on Chen Wu, and if they were to part ways in the future, she wasn't sure how she would cope.
She took out her phone and snapped a few pictures of the view outside.
Suddenly, she noticed someone in her high school class group discussing her and Chen Wu.
[Mathematics Class Representative: Lin Wan and Chen Wu are getting married.]
[Life Committee Member: Really? When?]
[Mathematics Class Representative: On the eighth of next month.]
[Sports Committee Member: Congratulations!]
[Mathematics Class Representative: Same to you!]
Lin Wan read the messages in the group chat, feeling a wave of emotion wash over her.
She hadn't expected her classmates to remember her and even send their blessings.
Looking out at the scenery again, she felt a twinge of melancholy.
Time seemed to pass so quickly; it felt like just yesterday she had finished her college entrance exams, and now she was about to get married.
Chen Wu turned his head and glanced at her.
"What's wrong?" Chen Wu asked.
"Nothing," Lin Wan shook her head.
She took a deep breath, trying hard to suppress the feelings of melancholy inside her.
She believed she should be happily marrying Chen Wu since they had already been together for some time.
Lin Wan lifted her head and smiled at Chen Wu. Chen Wu looked at her, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes. Lin Wan lowered her head and continued to gaze out at the scenery outside. After a while, her phone vibrated. She picked it up and took a glance. It was a message from Song Mei.
[Song Mei: I heard you are getting married?]
[Lin Wan: Yes.]
[Song Mei: With Chen Wu?]
[Lin Wan: Yes.]
[Song Mei: When did you two get together?]
[Lin Wan: A little over a month ago.]
[Song Mei: What do you think of him?]
[Lin Wan: He’s pretty good.]
[Song Mei: Do you know him well?]
[Lin Wan: I know him well enough.]
[Song Mei: I advise you to think it over again.]
[Lin Wan: Why?]
[Song Mei: He liked a girl in high school.]
Lin Wan was taken aback, suddenly feeling a pang of jealousy in her heart.
[Lin Wan: Really?]
[Song Mei: Yes, you should reconsider.]
[Lin Wan: I understand, thank you.]
