I still remember the first time I met Lin Wan. 0

That day, I was called to the office by the teacher for not doing my homework. When I arrived, there was no one in the office, and the teacher asked me to wait. I lowered my head, stood by the wall, and boredly stared at the floor. At that moment, someone knocked on the door. 0

"Reporting." 0

I turned to look, and it was a girl. She was wearing a blue and white school uniform, had her hair in a ponytail, and her round face was very cute. 0

"Come in," the teacher called out. 0

So she pushed the door open and entered. When she saw me, she paused slightly. I smiled at her. 0

"Teacher, I came to submit my weekly journal," she said as she walked up to the teacher's desk and placed a notebook on it. 0

"Okay," the teacher nodded. "What’s your name?" 0

"My name is Lin Wan," she replied. 0

So her name was Lin Wan. 0

"Your weekly journal is very well written," the teacher said with a smile. 0

"Thank you, teacher," Lin Wan smiled back. 0

"You can go back now," the teacher said. 0

"Alright," Lin Wan nodded. "Goodbye, teacher." 0

"Goodbye," the teacher replied with a smile. 0

Lin Wan winked at me before leaving. I watched her figure disappear and thought to myself that this girl seemed quite interesting. 0

After that day, I often thought about Lin Wan. I kept wondering how she could write such beautiful characters. I always wanted to find an opportunity to get to know her better. However, there never seemed to be a chance. The only time I could see her writing was when we submitted our assignments. Her handwriting was delicate, each stroke written with great care. I thought she must be a very gentle girl. 0

Later, I learned that she was a top student in her senior year, had excellent grades, and was cheerful and loved helping others. 0

I know all this because my classmate, Song Mei, often talks about her. Song Mei is her classmate and also her good friend. She always tells me how excellent and kind Lin Wan is. She praises her endlessly. So, I learned about her quite early on. However, I never had the chance to interact with her. 0

My second direct encounter with her was outside the teacher's office. At that time, I had just gone through my parents' divorce, and I was feeling down, often skipping classes. That day, I was standing in the hallway as punishment and happened to run into Lin Wan, who was also being punished. I remember she was pouting and complaining with a displeased expression, saying, "This is ridiculous; they actually make us senior students read our own essays. What is this?" 0

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw her. She glanced at me, blushed, and stopped talking. That day, I remembered her name: Lin Wan. 0

Later on, I gradually forgot about her until three days before we were about to get our marriage certificate. That day, I took her to meet my parents. My parents divorced when I was in my second year of high school. Later, they each started new families. I don't have much emotional attachment to them. I had already told them that I was getting married. Although they were reluctant, they did not oppose it. 0

We arranged to meet at the Hongzhuang Restaurant. By the time we arrived, they were already there. Besides them, there were their respective children as well. When they saw me, they merely greeted me casually. I didn't feel much for them either; I just nodded and sat down with Lin Wan. 0

"Xiao Chen, is this your future wife?" my dad's new wife asked with a smile. 0
"Yes," I nodded. 0
"She’s really beautiful," she said with a smile. 0
"Thank you for the compliment, Auntie," Lin Wan quickly replied. 0
"You're welcome," she smiled back. 0

I looked at my dad; his expression didn't seem very good. I thought to myself that he surely wouldn't be happy about this. 0

After all, my marriage is not a good thing for him. He glanced at me without saying a word. 0

"Xiao Lin, when are you and Xiao Chen planning to get married?" my mom's new husband asked. 0

"We plan to get married next month," Lin Wan replied. 0

"That's quite soon," he chuckled. 0

"Yes," Lin Wan nodded. 0

"Where do you plan to hold the wedding?" he inquired. 0

"We're planning to have a destination wedding," Lin Wan said. 0

"That sounds great," he smiled. 0

"Thank you, Uncle," Lin Wan replied. 0

My mom looked at me and said with a smile, "You're getting married, and you didn't even tell the family?" 0

"I already mentioned it to you once before," I replied casually. 0

"That was a long time ago," my mom said. 0

"Anyway, it's happening," I said flatly. 0

"You still have that attitude," my mom shook her head. 0

I remained silent. 0

"Xiao Lin, have you discussed this with your family?" my dad suddenly asked. 0

"We've already talked about it," Lin Wan said. 0

"That's good," my dad nodded. 0

I glanced at my dad; his expression didn't seem very pleasant. I thought he surely wouldn't be happy about it. After all, my marriage is not a good thing for him. We chatted casually for a while before heading home. 0
