After dinner, Chen Wu and I went home.
In the car, I couldn't help but bring up Song Mei.
"He seems to have changed a lot," I said.
"Really?" Chen Wu replied calmly.
"Yeah, he used to play basketball with so much effort, but now he seems much more composed," I remarked.
"People always change," Chen Wu said.
"Mm." I nodded, "But you seem to have changed very little."
"Have I?" he asked.
"Yes, you still don't talk much like you did back then," I laughed.
"I have something to tell you," he said after a moment of silence.
"What is it?" I asked curiously.
"Back then... I knew you didn't want to attend PE class," he said.
"Ah?" I was taken aback.
"I saw you standing at the back of the line, looking reluctant," he explained.
"You... how did you know?" I asked in surprise.
"I could tell by your expression," he replied.
"So you were paying attention to me back then," I laughed.
"Mm." He admitted.
"Then why didn't you say anything to me?" I asked.
"I was afraid it would make you uncomfortable," he said.
"Oh." I responded, feeling a touch of warmth in my heart.
He probably didn't ask me because he was worried I wouldn't be able to speak up.
He has always been such a considerate person.
"Are you trying to make me thank you now?" I laughed.
"No, I just want to let you know that I understand how you feel," he said.
"Mm." I replied, feeling warm inside.
"I hope you can tell me directly if anything comes up in the future," he said.
"Mm." I responded again.
"I don't want you to suffer any more," he said.
"Okay." I smiled.
My heart was filled with sweetness.
Is this what it feels like to marry for love?
It's wonderful.
On the weekend, I went home with Chen Wu for dinner.
My dad and Chen Wu started talking about fishing, and surprisingly, Chen Wu agreed to go fishing with my dad.
This surprised me.
I always thought that young people like him wouldn't enjoy such a boring activity as fishing.
On the way home, I finally couldn't help but ask him.
"How could you agree to go fishing with my dad?" I asked.
"I actually think fishing is quite interesting," he said.
"Ah?" I was taken aback.
"You should give it a try," he suggested.
"I... I'll think about it," I hesitated.
"Alright." He nodded.
That night, Chen Wu and I went to bed early.
The next morning when I woke up, it was already nine o'clock.
I quickly got up and got dressed.
"Aren't you going to have breakfast?" Chen Wu asked.
"I'm not eating, I need to hurry to school," I replied hastily.
"I bought soy milk and fried dough sticks, you should eat something," he said.
"I really don't have time, I'm skipping it," I insisted.
"Then be careful on your way," he reminded me.
"Okay, I'm leaving," I said as I hurried out of the house.
Mornings were indeed busy; after clocking in, I immediately started preparing my lessons.
It wasn't until lunchtime that I realized I had forgotten to eat lunch.
Just as I was about to order takeout, my phone suddenly rang.
It was Chen Wu calling.
"Hello?" I answered the phone.
"Xiao Yuan, I'm out and ran into a chef with great skills, so I bought a meal and had it delivered to you," he said.
"Really?" I was taken aback.
"It should be arriving soon, remember to pick it up when it gets there," he added.
"Oh," I responded, feeling a wave of gratitude.
"Alright, I'll hang up now," he said.
"Okay," I replied and hung up the phone.
After a while, the delivery person brought the meal.
When I opened it, it was fragrant Braised Pork Ribs.
I took a bite, and it was indeed delicious!
I didn't expect Chen Wu to be so thoughtful.
I felt a warm sweetness in my heart.
