Lin Wan and Chen Wu currently live in a house that Chen Wu's parents bought before their divorce, and it has been a few years since then. Although they are comfortable living there now, they worry that it may not be enough space if they have children in the future. Therefore, they plan to buy another house.
"I think if we're going to buy, we should get a bigger one," Lin Wan suggested. "At least a three-bedroom apartment."
"Yeah," Chen Wu nodded. "I was thinking the same thing."
"Then let's go look this weekend," Lin Wan said excitedly. "Let's see if there are any suitable options."
"Sounds good," Chen Wu agreed.
On the weekend, the two of them went to a real estate agency together. They looked at many properties and finally settled on a new four-bedroom apartment. The apartment is spacious, and its decoration style is simple yet elegant, which they both liked.
"Let's go with this one," Lin Wan said eagerly. "When can we sign the contract?"
"If you think it's fine, we can sign it right now," Chen Wu replied.
"Okay," Lin Wan nodded.
Just as they were about to find the sales representative to sign the contract, Chen Wu suddenly thought of something.
"By the way," he said, "have you considered buying a commercial property as well?"
"Commercial property?" Lin Wan looked at him in surprise.
"Yes," Chen Wu explained. "With housing prices rising, investing in real estate is the most cost-effective option."
Lin Wan hesitated. She hadn't thought about buying commercial property before, as she felt she wouldn't need it.
"You can think about it," Chen Wu suggested. "There's no rush to make a decision."
After pondering for a moment, Lin Wan said, "Well... then let's buy one."
"Okay." Chen Wu nodded, "Let's take a look at the shop."
The two of them went to see a 200-square-meter shop, and Lin Wan was quite satisfied with both the price and the location.
"Then let's go with this one," Lin Wan said.
"Alright." Chen Wu nodded, "You go talk to the salesperson, pay the deposit, and then sign the contract."
"Mm." Lin Wan nodded and turned to find the salesperson.
Watching her walk away, Chen Wu took out his phone and dialed a number.
"Hello, it's me," he said softly. "Help me reserve two properties: one new house with four bedrooms and one living room, and one 200-square-meter shop."
"Yes, just those two," he continued. "Money is not an issue; I'll come by in a few days to handle the paperwork."
"Okay, thank you." Chen Wu hung up the phone.
Lin Wan soon returned.
"It's all done," she said, waving the receipt in her hand. "I paid a deposit of 100,000 yuan."
"Mm." Chen Wu nodded. "Then let's head home."
"Okay." Lin Wan nodded.
The two of them left the real estate company and got into the car.
"Tired today?" Chen Wu asked her. "What do you want to eat tonight?"
"I'm fine with anything," Lin Wan smiled. "You decide."
"Alright." Chen Wu nodded and started the car.
On the way home, they passed a small stall.
The stall was filled with roasted sweet potatoes, emitting a sweet aroma.
Lin Wan glanced at it a bit longer.
Chen Wu noticed and asked, "Do you want some?"
Lin Wan shook her head. "No, I'm good."
Chen Wu didn't say anything, parked the car by the side of the road, and got out.
Lin Wan looked at him in surprise.
What is he going to do?
After a while, Chen Wu came back holding a roasted sweet potato.
"Here," he handed the sweet potato to Lin Wan.
Lin Wan was at a loss for words: "Didn't I say I didn't want to eat?"
"Just give it a try," Chen Wu urged, "it's really sweet."
Lin Wan hesitated for a moment, took the sweet potato, broke it in half, and handed him one half.
"Try it," she said.
Chen Wu shook his head: "You eat it."
"I can't finish it by myself," Lin Wan said, "let's eat together."
Chen Wu looked at her, smiled, and took the sweet potato, taking a bite.
"How is it?" Lin Wan looked at him expectantly.
"Very sweet," Chen Wu nodded.
"Really?" Lin Wan looked at him skeptically, "You wouldn't be lying to me, would you?"
"Why would I lie to you?" Chen Wu looked at her helplessly, "It's really sweet."
"Then I'll give it a try." Lin Wan took a bite and immediately squinted her eyes, "It really is sweet!"
"I told you so," Chen Wu smiled.
The two shared the sweet potato and continued on their way.
The sweet aroma of the roasted potato lingered in the car, warming Lin Wan's heart.
