On my birthday, I received one good news and two bad news.
The good news is that after nearly a year of careful polishing, my album finally got a chance to be released.
The bad news is:
My boyfriend of seven years wants to break up with me.
And I am going to die.

The phone rang; it was my best friend Xiaoya.
Her voice was filled with excitement, almost shouting, "Yueyue! Cheng Le listened to your album demo, and he approved it! Your album can be published!"
Her words were like a ray of light, piercing through the gloom in my heart.
I forced a smile, even though I had just walked out of the hospital, tightly clutching the heavy diagnosis report in my hand.
My mind was in chaos, joy and despair intertwined, making it hard for me to breathe.
I struggled to lift my spirits and said to Xiaoya on the other end of the line, "Really? That's great..."
But there was a barely perceptible tremor in my voice.
Lu Feng beside me seemed to sense my emotions; he held my hand tightly, squeezing it painfully.
After hanging up with my friend, we remained silent all the way home.
Once we got home, he gently held my hand, his gaze firm yet slightly choked: "It's okay, Yueyue."
"We will actively seek treatment; we will get better."
His words were like a shot of adrenaline, allowing me to see a glimmer of hope amidst despair.
I took a deep breath and nodded gently.
"Yueyue, I have something to take care of outside; you rest well. Don't wait for me for dinner."
But today is my birthday.
He had said a week ago that he would give me a surprise on this day.
I never expected his surprise would be breaking up with me. There was no reason. Even without him saying it, I knew it was because of my illness. Sitting in front of the piano, my fingers gently touched the familiar keys, and the melody flowed out like a stream.
Although my parents resisted my determination to pursue a career in music, they did not refuse to let me move the piano out of the house. Every note reminded me of him and the musical journey we had shared. I remember last summer, right after we graduated from college, filled with love for music and dreams, we resolutely embarked on this irreversible path.
Even when our parents opposed us and threatened to cut off our living expenses if we didn't change our minds, neither Lu Feng nor I ever considered giving up. With a passionate heart and an old guitar, we roamed the streets and alleys of Jiangzhou City, finally landing a gig at a small bar. That day, we were both very happy because we had found the stage where our dreams began.
Every night, we would perform there; he accompanied me on the piano while I sang and played the guitar. If we performed well, the owner allowed us to extend our set with one of our original songs. Our original music may not have won applause every night, but it always attracted some regulars who stopped to listen.
"Even if it's the end of the world, we must chase that beam of light." This was the first song we created together, titled "Chasing." Just as the lyrics said, we firmly believed that nothing could stop our love and dreams. During the day, we would discuss melodies and lyrics together; at night, in a corner of the bar, we recorded every spark of inspiration in our notebooks.
At that time, despite being exhausted every day, we were still filled with infinite hope for life and the future. I firmly believed that Lu Feng was my soulmate for this lifetime, and I also believed that I would be his only one. I sat on the stool for a long time until a knock on the door pulled me back to reality.
