The next morning, I arrived at the mall and found Pei Chenyi at the counter introducing products to customers. He wore a professional smile, and his tone was gentle and friendly. I had to admit that he was indeed an excellent salesperson. After the customer left, I walked over to greet him.
"Good morning."
Pei Chenyi smiled at me, "Good morning."
I looked at his expression, "Did you not sleep well last night?"
Pei Chenyi paused for a moment, "No, I didn't."
I was puzzled, "Then why do you have such dark circles under your eyes?"
Pei Chenyi chuckled, "Maybe it's because I didn't take a nap."
I was speechless, "If you didn't sleep at night, why didn't you take a nap?"
Pei Chenyi sighed, "I couldn't sleep at night, so I didn't take a nap."
I asked curiously, "Why couldn't you sleep?"
Pei Chenyi smiled again, "Maybe I was thinking too much."
I was at a loss for words, "What do you think about every day?"
Pei Chenyi thought for a moment, "Nothing much, just some random things."
I nodded, "You should pay attention to your rest."
Pei Chenyi smiled, "Thank you for your concern."
I waved my hand at him, "I'm going to work now."
Pei Chenyi nodded, "Alright, see you tonight."
I returned to the back of the counter and began preparing for work.
At noon during lunch, I sat in the cafeteria with Du Mei. Du Mei looked unwell, her eyes were red, and she seemed like she had just been crying. I looked at her with concern, " Du Mei, are you okay?"
Du Mei sniffed, "I'm fine."
I sighed, "If you're feeling upset, just cry it out."
Upon hearing this, tears immediately fell from Du Mei's eyes. I quickly took out a tissue to help her wipe her tears.
Du Mei sobbed, "Yao Yao, I had an argument with Zhang Qiang last night."
I was slightly taken aback, "You two had a fight?"
Du Mei nodded, "I questioned him about why he was having dinner with that Intern. He denied it and even got angry with me."
I was speechless, "How could he do that!"
Du Mei cried, "Yao Yao, I really love him. I don't want to lose him."
I sighed again, " Du Mei, don't be like this. If you keep crying like this, I'm going to end up crying too."
Hearing this, Du Mei quickly held back her tears.
I gently patted her shoulder, " Du Mei, don't be sad. Maybe things aren't as bad as you think."
Du Mei sniffled, "Yao Yao, what do you think I should do?"
I sighed once more, " Du Mei, I don't know what to say either, but I want you to know that no matter what happens, I'll be by your side."
Du Mei's eyes were red as she said, "Yao Yao, thank you."
I smiled, "You're welcome. We're good friends after all."
Du Mei nodded and didn't say anything more.

In the evening after work, I walked to the entrance of the mall and saw Pei Chenyi standing there smoking. I couldn't help but walk over to greet him, "What are you doing?"
Pei Chenyi smiled at me and said, "I wasn't doing anything, just standing by the door for a while."
I asked in confusion, "Why are you standing by the door?"
Pei Chenyi chuckled, "It's nothing, I just felt a bit stuffy inside, so I came out to get some fresh air."
I nodded, "Then why don't you go back earlier?"
Pei Chenyi smiled again, "I still want to stay a little longer."
I was speechless, "Well, take your time. I'm heading back now."
Pei Chenyi smiled once more, "Okay, goodbye."
I waved at him, "Goodbye."
