To clarify the misunderstanding, I came up with a plan—let Qin Jin see me and Pei Chenyi together with other people at the same time. But how exactly should I do that? As I was pondering this, Du Mei called me.
"Yao Yao, I'm trying on wedding dresses at the bridal shop. Do you want to come over and help me out?"
"Sure!" I replied eagerly.
Half an hour later, I arrived at the bridal shop. Du Mei was trying on wedding dresses while Zhang Qiang accompanied her.
Upon seeing me, Zhang Qiang smiled and asked, "Yao Yao, why did you come alone?"
"Why not?" I looked at him curiously.
Zhang Qiang chuckled, "Just asking."
I shot him a glance before walking over to Du Mei. She had just tried on a wedding dress and was looking in the mirror.
"How does it look?" she asked me.
I nodded, "It looks good."
Du Mei pouted, "But I think it's too revealing."
"..."
"And this train is too long," Du Mei added.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes, "Come on, sister, you're only getting married once; stop worrying about these things."
Du Mei sighed, "Yeah, that's what I think too."
I patted her shoulder, "Stop overthinking it; go try on the bridesmaid dress instead."
Du Mei nodded and then waved at Zhang Qiang, "Yang, go get the groomsmen's outfit so Yao Yao can help me check it out."
"Okay." Zhang Qiang nodded and then turned to leave.
I followed Du Mei into the fitting room. Just as I was about to close the door, I heard Zhang Qiang's voice coming from outside.
"I shouldn't have invited Pei Chenyi to be the best man."
"Why not?"
"He's too handsome. What if he steals my thunder?"
"..."
I couldn't help but smile and turned to look at Du Mei.
Du Mei was also looking at me, and we exchanged a knowing smile.
A few minutes later, we changed into our bridesmaid dresses and walked out of the fitting room.
Pei Chenyi was already dressed in his best man suit, standing next to Zhang Qiang while scrolling through Weibo on his phone.
Du Mei and I walked over, and Du Mei linked her arm with mine before saying to Pei Chenyi, "Yi, Yang just said you can't be the best man anymore."
"Huh?" Pei Chenyi looked up at us in confusion, "Why?"
"Yang is afraid you'll steal his spotlight," Du Mei replied with a laugh.
Pei Chenyi paused for a moment before smiling, "Then I can just not do it."
"No way!" Du Mei immediately protested, "I've been bragging to my colleagues that my best man is the famous streamer Pei Chenyi. You can't let me lose face!"
Pei Chenyi was at a loss for words: "You..."
I stood by listening to their conversation and couldn't help but laugh.
Honestly, I didn't think Pei Chenyi was that handsome; maybe it was just because I saw him every day and had gotten used to it.
...
After leaving the bridal shop, Pei Chenyi and I went to the supermarket to buy groceries.
As soon as we stepped out of the bridal shop, two young girls approached us, excitedly looking at Pei Chenyi.
"Are you Pei Chenyi?"
"Yeah," Pei Chenyi nodded.
"Wow, it's really you!" The two girls excitedly took out their phones. "Can we take a photo with you?"
"Sure," Pei Chenyi said with a smile, nodding his head.
So, he took a picture with the two girls.
I hid in the fitting room, watching them through the mirror.
After they finished taking the photo, I finally stepped out of the fitting room.
Pei Chenyi saw me and asked with a smile, "Why were you hiding?"
"I was afraid your fans would misunderstand," I replied casually.
Pei Chenyi chuckled but didn't say anything more.
On the way home, I hesitated for a long time before finally speaking up, "Um, there's something I want to ask you for help with."
"What is it?" Pei Chenyi turned to look at me.
"About your last live stream... did someone leave negative comments for you?" I asked tentatively.
"Yeah," Pei Chenyi nodded. "But I've already dealt with it."
"How did you resolve it?"
"I mentioned during the live stream that the Red Velvet Cream shouldn't be used carelessly and must be applied according to the method in the Little Pink Book; otherwise, it can cause allergies."
"Oh," I sighed in relief. "That's good."
"What's wrong?" Pei Chenyi looked at me curiously. "Why are you asking about this all of a sudden?"
"I..." I hesitated for a moment. "I want to ask you for a favor."
"What kind of favor?"
"I..." I hesitated again. "I have a friend who also wants to buy that Red Velvet Cream, but she's afraid of allergies, so I wanted to see if you could help her get a version that won't cause any allergic reactions."
Pei Chenyi was silent for a moment. "Is it a guy?"
"Huh?" I was taken aback. "No, it's a girl."
"..."
"What's wrong?" I looked at him curiously.
Pei Chenyi lightly coughed and said, "It's fine, I'll ask for you."
"Okay, thank you!" I replied gratefully.
