“Xiao Lin!” the girl exclaimed, “Xiao Lin, are you okay?” 0
“I…” I opened my mouth but couldn't make a sound. 0
“Don't scare me!” she cried, “Wake up!” 0
That voice sounded so familiar. 0
Who is she? 0
I wanted to see her face clearly, but everything in front of me was blurry. 0
“Xiao Lin!” she shouted, “Wake up…” 0
She held me tightly, crying heart-wrenchingly. 0
I struggled to lift my hand to wipe away her tears. 0
“Don’t… cry…” 0
“You're awake?” She looked at me with surprise, “Are you okay?” 0
“I…” I opened my mouth; my throat burned painfully. 0
“Call an ambulance!” she shouted. 0
Soon, the ambulance arrived. 0
I was taken to the hospital. 0
Chen Yun's Mother stood by the bed, looking at me anxiously: “How are you? Are you still feeling unwell?” 0
“I…” I wanted to speak but couldn't get the words out. 0
“Don't talk,” she said, “Just rest well.” 0
I looked at her, feeling a pang in my heart. 0
She… is actually concerned about me? 0
Why? 0
Is it because I saved her daughter-in-law? 0
At that moment, the door was pushed open. 0
Chen Gang walked in. 0
“Gang, you're here,” Chen Yun's Mother said to him, “You should check on Xiao Lin.” 0
“Okay.” Chen Gang nodded and walked to the bedside. 0
He looked at me, his expression complex: “Thank you for saving Xiao Lei.” 0
“…” I looked at him and remained silent. 0
“By the way,” Chen Gang suddenly said, “Xu Zimo mentioned… that you’re pregnant, right?” 0

Outside the hospital. 0
"Did you hear that Xiao Lin is pregnant?" Chen Gang looked at Xu Zimo, his tone flat. 0
Xu Zimo glanced at him, his eyes cold: "It's just a misdiagnosis." 0
"Oh." Chen Gang nodded, "I returned to the country a while ago." 0
"Really?" Xu Zimo sneered, "Why didn't you tell me?" 0
"I was afraid of disturbing you," Chen Gang replied lightly. 0
"Afraid of disturbing me?" Xu Zimo scoffed, "I think you're just afraid to see me." 0
"..." Chen Gang lowered his head, remaining silent. 0
"I heard you got engaged in America?" Xu Zimo asked. 0
"Yeah." Chen Gang nodded. 0
"Is that so?" Xu Zimo raised an eyebrow, "Then congratulations." 0
"Thank you," Chen Gang said softly. 0
"When do you plan to get married?" Xu Zimo inquired. 0
"Probably by the end of the year," Chen Gang answered. 0
"Good," Xu Zimo nodded, "Don't forget to inform me then." 0
"I will," Chen Gang replied. 0
"Then you can go back now," Xu Zimo said, "I'll take care of Xiao Lin here." 0
"I know," Chen Gang smiled, "I never thought about getting back together with her; I just want to settle things." 0
"Settle things?" Xu Zimo sneered, "What do you want to settle?" 0
"I..." 0
"Chen Gang." Xu Zimo stared at him, "You better stay away from Xiao Lin." 0
"..." Chen Gang was silent for a moment, "I understand." 0
"Then I'll take my leave," he said before turning to leave. 0
Xu Zimo watched his retreating figure, narrowing his eyes. 0
"Xiao Lin," he suddenly spoke up. 0
"Hmm?" I looked at him in confusion. 0
"Don't say anything," he said firmly. 0
"..." I obediently fell silent. 0

He stared at me for a moment, then suddenly reached out and pulled me into his embrace. 0
I looked at him in shock. 0
He gazed at me, his eyes deep as the ocean. 0
I felt my face flush and my heart race under his gaze, and I hurriedly averted my eyes. 0
"Your hand..." he said softly. 0
"My hand?" I paused, "What's wrong with my hand?" 0
"Your arm..." he frowned, "What happened?" 0
"Oh, this." I smiled slightly, "I bumped into something by accident." 0
"Bumped into something?" He looked at me sharply, "How did that happen?" 0
"Well..." I hesitated for a moment, "I encountered a motorcycle on the road and just pushed it away." 0
"And then?" he pressed. 0
"And then I fell down," I explained. 0
"Fell down?" He narrowed his eyes, "How did you fall?" 0
"I..." I looked at him, unsure of how to respond. 0
"You..." He looked at me with a complicated expression, "Why did you do that?" 0
"I..." I bit my lip, "I just didn't want her to get hurt." 0
"Do you know her?" he asked. 0
"Yes," I nodded, "She is Chen Gang's fiancée." 0
"..." He fell silent. 0
"You..." I cautiously looked at him, "What's wrong?" 0
"Nothing," he took a deep breath, "You should go home now." 0
"Okay," I nodded. 0
