I stood outside the Du Family Villa, tears blurring my vision. No, I can't give up like this! Du Ming must be wronged; I have to find evidence to prove his innocence! I wiped away my tears and turned to run towards Bai Wei. 0

"Vivi, what should we do? The USB drive is broken; what are we going to do now?" I anxiously grabbed Bai Wei's hand, as if holding onto the last straw. 0

Bai Wei calmly said, "Don't worry, we still have a chance. Since we know it's that mysterious organization, we can go directly to their lair to find evidence!" 0

"But how do we know where their lair is?" I asked in confusion. 0

Bai Wei smiled mysteriously and pointed at my phone. "Aren't you a miracle worker? You've saved countless people; you must have some special connections!" 0

Suddenly, it dawned on me! Of course! I could ask my patients for information! I immediately searched through my contacts and finally found a contact who had once treated a member of the mysterious organization. After some effort, we finally learned that their hideout was an underground casino hidden in the bustling city center. 0

As night fell, Bai Wei and I disguised ourselves and infiltrated the casino. The air inside was thick with smoke and noise; we carefully avoided patrolling security guards and finally found a secret door leading to the basement. 0

"Lingxi, be careful!" Bai Wei grabbed my hand and whispered a warning. 0

I nodded, took a deep breath, and entered the basement with Bai Wei. It was pitch black inside, filled with a damp, moldy smell. We groped our way forward in the dim light when suddenly, I felt a chill behind me, as if someone was watching us from the shadows... I turned around abruptly but only saw a shadow flash past. Before I could react, Bai Wei was knocked to the ground by a powerful force. 0

"Vivi!" I exclaimed and rushed over to help her up. "Are you okay?" 0

Bai Wei clutched her chest in pain and shook her head. "I'm fine; be careful!" 0

Before she finished speaking, several men in black suddenly rushed out from the darkness and surrounded us. Each one wielded sharp blades, exuding murderous intent. 0

"Who are you? Why are you trying to capture us?" I asked warily. 0

One of the men in black sneered. "Want to know? Go to hell and ask Yama!" 0

With that, they lunged at us with their weapons. Although I knew some self-defense techniques, I was no match for these trained killers. 0

"Lingxi, run!" Bai Wei pushed me away with all her strength but was captured by the men in black as a hostage. 0

"Let her go!" My eyes widened in anger, but there was nothing I could do. 0

At that moment, a shadow darted through the crowd like lightning, swiftly taking down several of the men in black. When I focused my eyes, I realized it was Du Ming! 0

How did he get here? My mind was filled with questions, but there was no time to think. 0

"What are you doing here?" I asked in surprise and joy. 0

Du Ming didn't answer; he merely cast a cold glance at the fallen men before turning his gaze toward me, his eyes flashing with an imperceptible tenderness. "I'm late; I'm sorry you had to suffer." 0

I shook my head and was about to speak when suddenly a chilling laugh echoed from the darkness: "Heh heh, what a pair of star-crossed lovers; too bad no one can save you today!" 0

A tall man slowly emerged from the shadows, his face obscured by a grotesque Demon Mask that sent shivers down my spine. 0

"Who are you?" I asked. 0

"Who am I? You don't need to know. You just need to know that Du Ming will undoubtedly die today!" the Ghost-Faced Man said coldly. 0

"Is that so?" Du Ming scoffed disdainfully. 0

"Then let's see!" the Ghost-Faced Man roared, launching another attack on us. 0

A fierce battle erupted instantly. Du Ming was agile, striking with deadly precision, while the Ghost-Faced Man was equally relentless. The two exchanged blows, neither willing to back down. Although I couldn't help much, I kept a close watch on the fight, hoping to find an opportunity to assist Du Ming. 0

Finally, Du Ming spotted a flaw and struck the Ghost-Faced Man in the chest, sending him flying. The Ghost-Faced Man crashed heavily to the ground, spitting out blood and struggling to get up, but he was already too weak. 0

"Tell me, who sent you?" Du Ming asked coldly. 0

The Ghost-Faced Man let out a bitter laugh: "Want to know? Kill me, and I'll tell you!" 0

A glint of murderous intent flashed in Du Ming's eyes as he prepared to strike, but I stopped him. 0

"Wait!" I stepped in front of the Ghost-Faced Man and said in a deep voice, "I can save you, but you have to tell me who sent you and why you wanted to frame Du Ming." 0

The Ghost-Faced Man hesitated for a moment before finally speaking. He told us that the one who sent him was... "It's... it's the Lu Family." The Ghost-Faced Man struggled to utter those words, his eyes filled with fear. 0

"The Lu Family?" I was taken aback. The Lu Family was the largest pharmaceutical group in Jianghan City and had always been in competition with the Du Family. Did they want to take this opportunity to suppress the Du Family? 0

"That's right, it's the Lu Family," the Ghost-Faced Man gasped. "They gave me some money and instructed me to find a chance to frame Du Ming, preferably ruining his reputation so he could never recover." 0

"Why?" I pressed further. "Why would they do this?" 0

"Because..." The Ghost-Faced Man seemed about to say something more when suddenly his expression changed. His eyes widened in terror as if he had seen something horrifying. 0

"What’s wrong?" I noticed his strange behavior and quickly asked. 0

The Ghost-Faced Man didn't answer. He opened his mouth as if trying to say something but ultimately couldn't get any words out. His body began to convulse violently, blood oozing from his orifices until he quickly lost all signs of life. 0

"He’s dead." Du Ming stepped forward and checked the Ghost-Faced Man's body, his expression grave. "It seems someone didn't want him alive to reveal the truth." 0

"Who is it?" My heart sank; this matter was more complicated than I had imagined. 0

Du Ming didn't answer my question. He remained silent for a moment before looking up at me, his eyes filled with complex emotions. 0

"Lingxi, I'm sorry," he suddenly said. "I... I lied to you before." 0

"What?" I was taken aback, not understanding what he meant. 0

"Actually, I'm not an ordinary person." Du Ming took a deep breath and slowly said, "I come from an ancient Cultivation Family and have been trained since childhood in various spells and martial arts." 0

I stared at him in shock, unable to speak for a moment. "Cultivation Family"? Spells? Martial skills? Do these things really exist? 0
"I know it's hard for you to accept, but I'm not lying to you," Du Ming said seriously, looking into my eyes. "My true identity is..." 0
