Chen Li had a pair of big, watery eyes, with her eyebrows shaped like crescent moons, a delicate nose, and full, rosy cherry lips. She was truly a rare beauty.
However, she was not someone he could toy with; he had no intention of getting married, so he would absolutely not pursue a girl like her who seemed innocent and delicate.

"Out this late? Why are you still outside?" Yan Chengjie asked softly.
"I work as a waitress at a café in the evenings," Chen Li said, her head slightly bowed, unable to meet Yan Chengjie's gaze.
For a moment, neither of them spoke, and a silence fell between them, so quiet that it seemed one could hear their heartbeats.
Yan Chengjie squinted his dark, deep-set eyes, lost in thought. Chen Li still dared not look at him; her hands were clenched tightly together, sweating from nervousness, her fingers intertwined and turning pale at the knuckles.
After a long time, Yan Chengjie suddenly spoke up, "I have to get back to the company; I have an important meeting to host today."
Only when he mentioned the company did Chen Li's expression change, and she looked up at him in a panic. "What time is it now?"
"It's getting late; it's almost ten o'clock..."
"Ten o'clock?! Oh no!"
