Ye Jingzhu's eyes were moist as she looked at Shen Xingyu, feeling deeply moved.
With a loud bang, another explosion occurred, shaking the house twice.
"Shen Xingyu, put me down first, you should go," Ye Jingzhu said anxiously.
"I won't leave," Shen Xingyu firmly shook his head. He glanced around and finally spotted a hammer.
Shen Xingyu carried Ye Jingzhu over to the hammer, picked it up, and then came to her side. "Jingzhu, wait a moment, I'll move this cabinet."
"Okay," Ye Jingzhu nodded.
Shen Xingyu approached the cabinet, stretched out his hands, and pushed against it, trying to move it aside. However, the cabinet was too heavy for him to budge.
"Shen Xingyu, you should go," Ye Jingzhu said, watching the flames grow larger. She urged, "If we don't leave now, we won't be able to."
"I told you I won't leave," Shen Xingyu gritted his teeth and pushed harder against the cabinet, but it wouldn't move at all.
Anxious and desperate, he knew he couldn't let anything happen to Ye Jingzhu.
"Shen Xingyu, be careful," Ye Jingzhu suddenly shouted as she saw the chandelier swaying dangerously above them.
Shen Xingyu glanced back but had no time to think; he released the cabinet and dodged to the side.
With a loud crash, the chandelier fell and struck Shen Xingyu on the head.
"Shen Xingyu!" Ye Jingzhu exclaimed in shock, worriedly calling out, "Shen Xingyu, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Shen Xingyu said unsteadily as he stood up. He felt dizzy and shook his head to clear his mind.
He returned to the cabinet, picked up the hammer again, and struck it fiercely.
"Shen Xingyu, don't do that," Ye Jingzhu said with concern as she watched his frantic actions.
With a loud bang, Shen Xingyu smashed a hole in the cabinet.
"Jingzhu, come out," he said, tossing the hammer aside and pointing at the opening.
"Alright," Ye Jingzhu nodded and pushed herself up from the ground to crawl toward the hole.
When Ye Jingzhu finally crawled out, both of them sighed in relief.
"Jingzhu, are you okay?" Shen Xingyu looked at Ye Jingzhu, asking with concern.
"I'm fine," Ye Jingzhu shook her head and looked at Shen Xingyu. "Shen Xingyu, are you hurt?"
"I'm fine," Shen Xingyu smiled and shook his head. He took Ye Jingzhu's hand. "Jingzhu, let's go."
"Okay." Ye Jingzhu nodded and followed Shen Xingyu to the door, only to find it was locked from the inside.
"Shen Xingyu, it seems we can't get out," Ye Jingzhu said anxiously as she looked at him.
Shen Xingyu nodded slightly, his gaze cold as he stared at the door. "I know, and I suspect the arsonist is still here."
"What?" Ye Jingzhu's eyes widened as she looked at Shen Xingyu. "Are you saying that person is still here?"
"Yes." Shen Xingyu nodded and wrapped his arms around Ye Jingzhu. "Jingzhu, don't be afraid. I'm here."
"I'm not afraid." Ye Jingzhu shook her head; with Shen Xingyu by her side, she felt fearless.
"Who is it?" Shen Xingyu glanced around and shouted loudly, "If you have the guts, come out!"
No one responded; only the crackling of flames could be heard.
"Shen Xingyu, what if he's already dead?" Ye Jingzhu looked at him, speculating.
"No way." Shen Xingyu shook his head. "If he were dead, he would have been burned to a crisp by now; there would definitely be a smell."
"But there's so much smoke in here; he can't survive either," Ye Jingzhu said as she looked at him, struggling to figure out where that person could be hiding.
"He must want to die with us," Shen Xingyu said coldly.
"Then where could he be hiding?" Ye Jingzhu scanned the area, unable to determine where that person might be concealed.
Shen Xingyu remained silent for a moment, staring in a particular direction before coldly saying, "Come out."
Ye Jingzhu's heart skipped a beat as she followed Shen Xingyu's gaze and saw something tremble behind the bookshelf.
