Suddenly, a loud crash echoed, and our car was flipped over. I was dazed from the impact. Chen Wenzhou was slightly better off; his first reaction was to shield me in his arms, saying, "Yanyan, don't be afraid. I will protect you."
I gently pushed Chen Wenzhou away; he had a gash on his forehead and appeared to be in a semi-conscious state. Despite this, he held onto my hand tightly. I looked at him and sighed softly.
Chen Wenzhou gazed at me, his voice faint: "Yanyan, you can't escape my grasp."
I smiled slightly and replied, "Brother, the game is over."
Chen Wenzhou froze.
I continued, "It's been two years, and you haven't made any progress."
Chen Wenzhou's pupils constricted.
I cruelly pried his fingers apart: "You lost again."
Chen Wenzhou gripped my hand with all his strength, his voice hoarse: "Don't go..."
Without hesitation, I pushed him away and turned to leave. Behind me came Chen Wenzhou's almost desperate roar. I walked away without looking back.
After taking a few steps forward, a car stopped in front of me. The window rolled down to reveal Wu Zheng.
Wu Zheng smiled triumphantly: " Mo Yanyan, you are mine."
Before I could react, Wu Zheng pulled me into his embrace. He held me tightly, his smile almost sickly: "You are mine, mine!"
I tried to break free. Wu Zheng did not let go: "Don't think you can escape."
I was stunned.
It turned out that Chen Wenzhou was right; Wu Zheng really wouldn't let me go. Chen Wenzhou was already out of the game, and now it was just me and Wu Zheng. I lowered my gaze, hiding the calculations in my eyes. A new game had begun, and this time, I wouldn't run away.
Wu Zheng was different from Chen Wenzhou. Chen Wenzhou had mental issues. Wu Zheng was paranoid and twisted. You could tell from the things he did to Liang Jingjing. But Wu Zheng was different with me. When I met Wu Zheng under my new identity, he chose me, not Liang Ranan. This surprised me.
I couldn't help but ask Wu Zheng, "Why did you choose me instead of Liang Ranan?"
Wu Zheng suddenly got angry; he put on his clothes and turned to leave. I was taken aback. The next day, Wu Zheng came back again. He brought a lot of gifts, carefully trying to please me, attempting to make up for yesterday's unhappiness.
I was a bit speechless: "Didn't you say you would only torment me?"
Wu Zheng's expression froze. I looked at him curiously: "What are you doing now?"
Wu Zheng awkwardly coughed and said, "I regret it, is that not okay?"
I chuckled lightly.
Wu Zheng placed the items he bought on the table and asked, "Do you like any of these?"
I glanced over, my expression slightly tightening.
Salted Egg Yolk Pastry.
It was my least favorite food.
I shook my head and replied, "I don't like it."
Wu Zheng's expression stiffened. "Why not?"
I said, "Not liking it means I just don't like it."
After a moment of silence, Wu Zheng suddenly spoke up, "You used to love Salted Egg Yolk Pastry."
I was taken aback.
Wu Zheng's expression became almost obsessive. "You used to love Salted Egg Yolk Pastry. Why don't you like it now?"
I was at a loss for words. "When did I ever like it?"
Wu Zheng fell silent.
I looked at him curiously and asked, "Did I know you before?"
Wu Zheng shook his head.
I frowned. "Then do you know me?"
Wu Zheng glanced at me but didn't respond; instead, he picked up a piece of clothing.
"Want to try it on?"
I shook my head again. "I don't want to change clothes."
Wu Zheng smiled and said, "This outfit isn't old, and it's really nice. I'm sure you'll like it."
I still shook my head.
