"What’s got you so happy?"
Wu Rong looked up in confusion and said, "I’m not happy?"

Wu Rong frowned tightly, "What do you mean by that?"
Ye Ming smiled and said, "Don’t you feel like you've changed? You have more emotions now; your feelings are richer. You’ve become… less like math and more like language."
Wu Rong immediately showed a look of disgust on his face.
Ye Ming squinted his eyes and said mysteriously, "Is it possible that you have feelings for Rao Jie?"
Wu Rong rolled his eyes reflexively and said naturally, "Have you forgotten to take your medication again? Talking about romance—maybe you should switch to the Chinese department."
Ye Ming looked at Wu Rong for a moment in disbelief. There was indeed no sign of a crack in his facade, so he changed the topic with a sigh of boredom.
"By the way, how's your progress?"
While organizing his lesson plans, Wu Rong replied, "No need to worry."
Ye Ming leaned on his hands and said, "I’m not worried about your work; I’m worried about you pushing yourself too hard. So I’ve made adjustments: you’ll pause teaching next week and focus on preparing for this report. The award you're competing for is very important; you understand that, right? It’s up to you to silence those old men."
Wu Rong looked up at Ye Ming with a frown and said, "I’m not doing this for that."
Ye Ming raised his hands in surrender and said, "I know you're doing it for mathematical research; it's my own utilitarian mindset! But you also know that winning awards is crucial for establishing better research projects in the future. And I can’t let others think that your talents are wasted because you returned home under my watch! You wouldn’t want your former colleagues…"
Ye Ming suddenly paused, not continuing with his words, and cautiously glanced at Wu Rong. Wu Rong showed no reaction, his expression unchanged, as if he had already moved on from the previous matter. However, Ye Ming knew that for Wu Rong, that incident was hard to let go of.
“Ahem... So, let's focus on preparations now. Don't worry about other unimportant matters. You need to understand that sometimes it's not time that's wasted, but energy. What you need most right now is energy. Don't let trivial things distract you,” Ye Ming advised.
Wu Rong hesitated for a moment, his gaze flickering slightly as thoughts of a promise made to someone surfaced in his mind, making him feel a bit uneasy. Nevertheless, he nodded in agreement with Ye Ming, maintaining a composed demeanor.
Rao Jie did not dare to offend Wu Rong and had prepared all of Wu Rong's favorite foods upon returning from school, mentally preparing for any potential difficulties that might arise.
