As soon as Shen Qingyan's words fell, a wave of murmurs arose from the audience. The looks directed at Father Fu were now filled with scrutiny and doubt.
"Qingyan, calm down. Let's discuss this at home," Father Fu attempted to regain control of the situation, lowering his voice with a hint of warning.
"Home? This is my home. Why should I calm down?" Shen Qingyan scoffed. "Today, I want everyone to know that I, Shen Qingyan, am not anyone's subordinate, nor am I a pawn to be manipulated at will!"
Taking a deep breath, her gaze was resolute and confident: "I announce that starting today, the Shen Group will enter into a deep cooperation with the Wang Group. Together, we will forge ahead and create a bright future!"
With that, Shen Qingyan turned and extended her hand towards President Wang, a radiant smile on her face.
President Wang smiled back, firmly shaking her hand and declaring, "I believe our cooperation will surely be successful!"
The audience erupted in applause, expressing their admiration for Shen Qingyan's decisiveness and courage.
Fu Xieli watched everything unfold before him, feeling a mix of emotions. He had never imagined that this woman he had always overlooked possessed such a powerful presence and capability.
Regret grew wildly in his heart like creeping vines.
Shen Qingyan paid no mind to Fu Xieli's complicated gaze as she confidently walked towards President Wang. The two stood side by side on stage, accepting the congratulations from the crowd. In an instant, the flashes of cameras captured Shen Qingyan's confident smile in countless moments.
A few months later, under the leadership of Shen Qingyan, the collaboration project between the Shen Group and the Wang Group was progressing smoothly, with performance on the rise. Shen Qingyan earned a good reputation in the industry due to her keen business acumen and decisive decision-making, becoming a rising star in the business world.
"Qingyan, you are amazing!" Yanyan said while browsing through financial news, giving Shen Qingyan a thumbs up. "Look, you're on the cover of financial magazines now, and even Shen Group's stock has risen significantly!"
Shen Qingyan put down the documents in her hand, rubbed her temples, and smiled as she replied, "This is all the result of everyone's hard work."
"Don't be modest; your contribution is the greatest!" Yanyan walked over to Shen Qingyan and handed her a cup of coffee. "However, I heard that the Fu Group seems to be struggling lately, apparently due to missing out on a collaboration with the Wang Group, leading to issues with their cash flow."
Shen Qingyan took the coffee and took a light sip, calmly saying, "Oh, really? That's their own business."
Yanyan wanted to say more but seeing Shen Qingyan's calm demeanor, she ultimately held back her words. She knew that Shen Qingyan had moved on from the past; now she only wanted to focus on her career.
Meanwhile, Fu Xieli was sitting in his office, looking at the latest financial reports with a furrowed brow. The report featured Shen Qingyan looking radiant and confident as she chatted amiably with Mr. Wang, embodying the image of a powerful woman in business.
He abruptly closed his laptop, irritably tugging at his tie as images of Shen Qingyan announcing their collaboration at the banquet flooded his mind. At that moment, she was so dazzling and self-assured, completely different from the gentle and fragile Shen Qingyan he remembered.
"How could this happen..." Fu Xieli murmured to himself, filled with bitterness and regret. He realized that he had always underestimated Shen Qingyan's abilities and brilliance, confining her within the cage of family without ever considering that she could have her own sky.
Father Fu looked at the company's declining performance reports with a grim expression. He knew that all of this was due to his earlier decisions—underestimating Shen Qingyan while overestimating Lu Wanting.
"Chairman, Miss Lu is here," the secretary's voice interrupted Father Fu's thoughts.
Lu Wanting entered the office and noticed Father Fu's dark expression, feeling a pang of anxiety in her heart. She knew that the recent troubles of the Fu Group were closely related to her actions.
"Dad, did you call for me?" Lu Wanting asked cautiously.
Father Fu looked up at the woman he once had high hopes for, a hint of disappointment flashing in his eyes. "Wanting, you have disappointed me too much!"
Lu Wanting's face turned pale; she knew that everything she had done was exposed. She fell to her knees with a thud, crying and pleading, "Dad, I was wrong. Please give me another chance..."
Father Fu closed his eyes and sighed deeply. He knew it was all too late.
At that moment, Shen Qingyan was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the entire city. The setting sun elongated her silhouette.
"Qingyan, what are you looking at?" a gentle voice came from behind.
Shen Qingyan turned around and saw the visitor, her face breaking into a happy smile. "Zixuan, you're here."
The visitor was Wang Zixuan, the young master of Wang Group. He walked over to Shen Qingyan and gently wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her close as they enjoyed the sunset together.
"Zixuan, thank you," Shen Qingyan said softly as she nestled in Wang Zixuan's embrace.
"Silly girl, we don't need to say thank you between us," Wang Zixuan said, lowering his head to place a kiss on Shen Qingyan's forehead.
Shen Qingyan closed her eyes, feeling Wang Zixuan's tenderness and love. She knew she had finally found true happiness.
