As Bach's music gently flowed in her ears, Jingxuan gradually felt her mood calm down. She gazed out the car window, watching the scenery outside. The vehicle moved slowly forward, and the view transitioned from the greenery of the suburbs to that of a small town. Soon, her eyes landed on a striking sign—the mascot of Cuigu Town, Cuigu Town Baby.
Cuigu Town Baby is a cute cartoon character with a unique design, resembling a small green mountain, lively and interesting. It wears a colorful headband on its head, symbolizing the indigenous culture of Cuigu Town, rich in local characteristics. In its hands, it holds a representation of Cuigu Town's famous product—Cuigu Tea—seemingly showcasing the area's abundant resources and culture to visiting tourists.
A large sign prominently displayed the words "Welcome to Cuigu Town" in an elegant and friendly font, instantly conveying the warmth and hospitality of the town.
She sat on the bus, her gaze fixed on the familiar Cuigu Town Baby sign, a wave of complex emotions rising within her. This mascot had once symbolized her hopes and dreams for a new life, but now it reminded her of the experiences she had over the past six months in this small town.
When she first arrived here, her heart was filled with anticipation for the future and a sense of loss for her past dancing career. As the bus slowly entered the campus, Jingxuan's thoughts drifted back to her studies and daily life. Over the past six months, she had gradually adapted to the rhythm of life here and found her place among the courses at Cuigu University and her new friends. She looked forward to the start of the new semester and continued exploring her inner world in this quiet town.
Suddenly, a mechanical voice announced on the bus, notifying passengers of the upcoming stops in Cuigu Town and reminding them to ring the bell to prepare for disembarking. With the announcement, the atmosphere inside the bus became lively. Sounds of passengers shifting in their seats and gathering their belongings filled the air, as people occasionally stood up to head towards the luggage rack or near the doors.
The bus stopped at each station, and at every stop, several passengers hurriedly got off with their luggage while new passengers boarded. The seats in the cabin gradually became more available, but for Jingxuan, her destination was still some distance away. She sat quietly by the window, her gaze passing through the glass as she observed the world outside. Each stop offered different scenery and crowds, making this journey vibrant and colorful.
Finally, the bus paused at the largest transfer station in town. Here, the flow of people was denser as passengers moved in and out of the doors, busy yet orderly. Jingxuan saw many people dragging their luggage or rushing off to their next destinations. Soon after, a mechanical voice announced once again, slowly and clearly repeating the name of the next stop: "Next stop, Cuigu University, Cuigu University."
Hearing the announcement, Jingxuan suddenly felt a surge of excitement. Cuigu University was not only where she studied but also one of the places she was most familiar with in this small town. She began to organize her belongings, preparing to get off when they reached the next stop. As she was about to return to the familiar campus, Jingxuan felt a sense of reassurance.
As the bus started moving again, slowly leaving the bustling center of Cuigu Town and gradually entering the winding roads surrounded by dense forests, Jingxuan felt a twinge of nervousness and unease. This stretch of road had always been a challenge for her; it twisted and turned, filled with countless sharp bends and steep slopes. Traveling on such roads always came with an unsettling feeling that made her heart race.
The scenery outside the window became more wild and mysterious as the journey progressed. Lush trees tightly surrounded the narrow mountain road, forming a green tunnel. Sunlight dappled through the leaves, casting a moment of warmth on Jingxuan's face. But she was not in the mood to appreciate the natural beauty at the moment; her attention was fully focused on the vehicle's movement.
The bus traveled along these winding mountain roads, with every turn or climb accompanied by the swaying and slight bumping of the vehicle. Jingxuan tightly grasped the seat's armrest, trying to steady herself. She could feel the roar of the engine and the sound of the tires rubbing against the road, which seemed particularly abrupt in this quiet mountain road.
As the bus climbed the steep slope, Jingxuan's heart raced, and she felt a wave of dizziness and discomfort. She tried to calm herself with deep breaths, but the churning sensation in her stomach remained difficult to quell. With each ascent, it seemed to test her endurance and courage.
Just then, a sign came into view, clearly displaying the name of Cuigu University. This should have been a reassuring marker for her, but she knew that before truly reaching the campus, there was one last steep stretch to overcome. This was the final leg of the journey to the university, and it was the most rugged part yet.
As the passenger bus slowly ascended the final stretch of the mountain road, Jingxuan closed her eyes, attempting to detach her thoughts from this journey. She imagined herself safely arriving at the school, sitting in the familiar campus surrounded by green trees and fresh air. She reminded herself that this was just a brief journey and would soon be over. Repeating these thoughts in her mind, Jingxuan tried to calm her emotions and quietly await the end of this journey.
