With a crisp crack, the stone table broke in response, the fracture smooth like tofu.
"What a fine blade, indeed a fine blade," I exclaimed.
"This slingshot is also crafted from heavenly materials, called the Kui Long Slingshot," the king said.
He picked up the slingshot and gently stroked the bowstring, saying, "The Kui Long is an ancient divine beast that lives in the East Sea. It resembles an ox, has no horns, and is enormous. Its roar sounds like thunder. Its spine is incredibly hard and can be used for the bow's back; its tendons are long and flexible, perfect for the bowstring; its skin is thick and durable, suitable for the pouch."
"This Kui Long Slingshot is exquisitely designed, powerful, with a range of up to a thousand meters, and an extremely fast shooting speed that can track the trajectory of prey, hitting every target," the king continued.
He took an iron pellet and loaded it into the pouch of the slingshot, aiming at an iron plate a hundred steps away.
With a whoosh, the iron pellet shot out and with a bang struck the iron plate, piercing it through.
"Impressive," the three exclaimed in surprise.
"This final weapon is called the Meteoric Divine Spear," the king said.
He picked up the spear and gently caressed its shaft, saying, "This spear is also made from celestial meteors and weighs over a thousand pounds. For a hundred years, no one from Lilliput has been able to wield it."
Holding the spear with both hands, he swung it forcefully; with a whoosh, the tip sliced through the air with a sharp whistle.
"These three weapons are my father's legacy. Today, I present them to you three. I hope you will use them wisely to benefit all people," the king declared.
He handed the Black Gold Blade to A Meng, gave the slingshot to Xiao Xiao, and entrusted me with the Meteoric Divine Spear.
"I see that you three are destined to possess these divine weapons; from now on, you are their masters," the king smiled.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," we all replied in unison.
"Good. From today onward, you three should diligently train to break through your limits and fulfill the mission given to you by the Divine Being," the king instructed.
"Yes," we answered together.
"Alright, you may leave now; I need to enter seclusion for training," said the king.
The three of us bid farewell to the king and returned home joyfully to study our newly acquired weapons.
I held the Meteoric Divine Spear tightly in my hands, unable to put it down as I swung it repeatedly; it felt more comfortable with each motion and filled me with excitement.
I sensed a connection with this spear; every time I wielded it, warm currents flowed through me from its shaft, bringing immense comfort.
After practicing for a while, I leaned the spear against the wall and sat down on the ground lost in thought.
I was now almost certain that the mysterious old man in white was indeed a celestial being.
The sheepskin map given to him by the deity must hide some kind of secret, perhaps the method to lift the curse. It seems that only by following the guidance on the map can one find a way to break the curse and save this Lilliput. "No matter what, I have to give it a try," I thought to myself.
In the days that followed, the three of us began learning combat skills from our respective fathers. A Meng practiced with the Black Gold Blade every day; he was incredibly strong, able to chop down a large tree with a single swing. Xiao Xiao practiced with his slingshot daily, and his skills improved rapidly, reaching a level where he could hit a target from a hundred paces away. As for me, I practiced the Meteoric Divine Spear every day. Although my strength was not as great as A Meng's, my spear technique was agile and unpredictable, often allowing me to strike my target when they least expected it.
